I have finished and sent chapter 3 to a couple editors, so hopefully my misuse of comma's will be curtailed. Chapter 3 proved somewhat difficult to write, it is a pretty pivotal point of the early story, and I had difficulty with some tough decisions to make with it. I am hoping to post the new chapter (and unlikely but possibly revised versions of 1 and 2) by the end of the week. To those who have emailed me, please be assured your feedback has driven me to continue the story.
I have also received a few emails regarding the scene transitions in this chapter. Several people have pointed out that they are abrupt and somewhat difficult to follow. I appreciate the comments very much, however that was actually intentional in this chapter. Patrick is suffering from fever dreams. I tried my best to reflect that throughout the chapter. In the event a story requires me to do something similar to this again, I will try to make it a bit clearer through the narrative. Again thank you to everyone who has sent feedback. It is that feedback that is driving me to keep spending my small free time writing. I have a new two month old daughter, and her 8 year old brother to also devote my time to, so I am trying to find a schedule that works for writing and posting. Finding that schedule does seem to evading me somewhat however. It seems to be feast or famine with my writing some days.
Chapter two is up. I am looking for a good editor because I know my story could use one. Anyone interested can find a request on the Authors/Editors part of the site. Things will probably start getting a bit more interesting at this point. I am not entirely sure how many chapters this story will be. It has the potential to be a long one, but I don't want to sacrifice plot by just adding words. As always feedback is more than welcomed, I do try to respond within a couple days to any emails I receive.
I have posted the first chapter of Voodoo Princess, and I have to say I am very pleased with the reception so far. I tried my hand at writing many years ago and it never went anywhere. That was in the days before SOL existed. I seem to remember getting an email from SOL when it was first formed asking to post my earlier trash. I am glad I turned them down and waited until I had matured and have a much more detailed story, with a plot(!!), to post. I have finished chapter two and am beginning to review it before submitting it. Hopefully it will be ready and posted in the next couple days. I am still trying to think of and settle on a form of schedule for my posting. An important question I have for you, my readers, is this: Would you rather smaller pieces of the story be posted more often (maybe 2 a week if I can maintain), or would you rather I post larger amounts less often (maybe every couple weeks)? Please if you don't mind let me know, since I want to please as much of my audience as I can.
