Why should secretary fantasies be limited to office administrators? What's wrong with a fantasy involving an Assistant Secretary of State, and, maybe later, a full Cabinet secretary?
In addition to the spanking and the oral sex...oops...not Monty Python, just the sex -- the story is, more and more, actually reviewing some decisions relating to the Vietnam War, and how many were made without really thinking them through.
Food and sex are both great experiences. Chapter 9 will start on how Julia Child was also prominent in the predecessor to CIA. Make that food, sex, and spying.
When readers have gotten this far, I trust that they have some idea and confidence where the story is going, so I have enabled voting.
The previous story and prequel, "Tomorrow is another Day", has produced more interesting feedback than anything else that I've written, and the historical interest seems to be continuing with this one. That feedback is very gratifying, and I thank readers.
Continuing the do-over during the Kennedy White House, we've established that the world didn't disappear in mushroom clouds in the Cuban Missile Crisis -- something I almost think was a more probable outcome than what happened.
Unquestionably, JFK was a horndog, probably more than anything of which Bill Clinton has been accused. Possibly, he and Jackie might have had an extremely discreet open marriage. If that was their decision, or that of the Clintons, I don't think it detracts from the Presidency. So, that's one aspect of nontraditional sex.
Nowhere in the story will two men go into the closet and make it together. On the other hand, given that guys like to watch women with each other, and that group sex involves men and women, there may well be times when men at least come into contact, and maybe play with one another with women participating. There also is at least one truly trans woman character, whose birth chromosomes don't preclude her being a charming female.
If any of these squick you, this isn't the story for you. If they don't, I suspect you'll find the story addresses a more realistic range of human sexuality than many others do.
As a bureaucrat asks at the end, "What is Veet-Nam and why is it important?"
Would a wiser Kennedy have acted differently than did LBJ?
Given the number of alphabet soup acronyms in the military, I updated the Prologue of this story to include a glossary, especially of acronyms.
I have tried to keep it as simple as possible, such as speaking of NSA rather than NAVSECGRUACTLANTFLTDET (Naval Security Group Activity Atlantic Fleet Detachment). Believe me, it scared me the first time I saw an abbreviation like the latter, and immediately understood it!
