I just posted chapter 28 of Code Monkey to SOL. The chaper is half of the usual size. Sorry, but health issues have made it difficult to maintain sustained efforts at writing new material. I am working on chapter 30 and 31 now, but I will be having surgery sometime this month to correct my health problem. I am sure that will cut down on my writing time.
I didn't want to just stop posting to SOL while all this is going on, so my solution is to post half the amount of pages in the same time frame so people following the story will have something new to read each month.
Again, I want to thank everyone sending emails for all your support and good wishes.
I just sent chapter 28 of Code Monkey off to my last proofreader. He has a real life, and will get to the story when he can. Thank you, to everyone for all the emails. I also want to thank the generous readers who have donated to the cause. Each one of you is helping with the effort.
Chapter 28 will go out to my final proofreader today or tomorrow. It will be shorter than the normal four pages in SOL. It will still be about 36 pages in MS Word. Than might translate to 2 and a half pages once the submission wizard has its way with the text file.
The problem with my prostate has been discovered. It is not cancer, but I still have to have it removed. That will happen the first week of February, so there will most likely be delays before the normal, four pages of Code Monkey are posted monthly. I'll keep everyone updated.
I want to thank all the people who've sent best wishes. Your emails mean a lot to me. Continue to enjoy good reads wherever you can find them.
As I reported once before, I've had some prostate issues. Now I am on a med that makes me very drowsy twice a day for several hours and I've had trouble writing anything without nodding off. I'll have chapter 28 up sometime this month, but it might be late. It will also be half the size of most of the previous chapters. Sorry for the delay, and thank you for reading the story.
I want to thank the SOL community of readers. The Flight of the Code Monkey just broke 500,000 hits and the outpouring of encouraging emails is wonderful. I try to reply to everyone. If I haven't replied to yours, something in real life got in the way on my end and I overlooked your email after reading it.
I also want to thank all the generous readers who have sent donations to my PayPal account. Thank you for your kindness, and continuing kindness is some cases.
Merry Christmas again. Have a safe, productive new year and lots of good reads.
