Fantastic bunch of responses. Several different approaches.
Consider a new planet discovery in a galaxy far, far away. Where the core is a mix of copper, gold, and element 187 (named Whatdahellisdisdium) that combine to generate a force field that absorbs cosmic radiation and channels it into usable energy. Nothing magnetic works.
Something that puzzles me about other planet stories. How can they pull out a compass and determine north etc. Why should an alien planet have a magnetic field like earth?
Made it to one of those milestones. I'm planning on getting a few T Shirts "I LOVE BEING 69" with the "BEING" in really small letters. Think I'll get in trouble? Just about to move my camper onto my 5 acre bare block and start working on it. Exciting.
