I feel most of us here do want to improve our writing skills which is why there is the Editor system.
I've made a few comments to authors and I've tried to use the Toastmasters method: Commend - Recommend - Commend. Where you start with praising some good stuff, then make a suggestion or two (but not too many) and finish with some general praise.
Also make allowances for different countries: I got NAILED for using "mum" instead of "mom" - guess what, I'm not in America so the comment is pointless.
Watching the news about the flooding in the southern US. Stay safe folks, stay safe and keep writing/reading instead.
Crap happens, and then you come out the other side. "Work was the curse of the writing man" but had a blackout at work with a minor acident so I'm suspended until the docs can pick a reason and get me 100%. Should take until I'm due to retire fully so lets get typing. Going to change lifestyle, sell up my 3 acre lifestyle block and buy a boat; looking at a 44 footer. Just posted one that's been sitting around for a while, second chapter ready to follow. Thanks to all those who've kept me smiling through the crap times and I hope I can create a few smiles.
Just a thought: limited to 16 stories but I've been going through an author that has a whole lot of short stories - 18-25kb. Would it be possible for the quota to be related to sizes? say 16 stories average 50kb = 800kb. What do admin think.
Anyone wondering when this enthralling story is going to continue - I just asked. Jacks wife is very ill so the story will continue when and if. Those into such things - add him and her to your prayers.
