been a rough week, BARELY avoided a hospital stay earlier in the week (Protip: Your doctor gets really worried when your blood pressure reading starts with a 2 (eek)). But I was able to get oot and aboot (as a couple of my Canadian friends would say briefly.

Right now, I feel like that bit from the Princess' Bride. you know, the one where Miracle Max says

There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive.

I guess you could call me slightly alive right now.

So, I've had a couple health issues flare up over the holidays and into 2019. Just a bit of background, I'm in my mid-40's and suffer from a variety of ailments, mostly of the arthritic and immune-system related. It allows me to joke that "At 25, I thought I was hip. Now, I'm 44 and closer to hip replacement than hip".

But right now is pretty bad, bad enough that I'm basically house bound. so bad that they're trying a complete rebuild of my medicine regime to get me back on my feet (somewhat literally) and hopefully back to being a productive FozzieBare.

This doesn't mean I'm stopping writing. It means I have to pick my shots, and truth be told, the fact is that most of my writing has hit the barrier of "No, this is crap, I can't release this as the return. GET BETTER".

So to channel Miracle Max, I ask you to be like a busy doctor, and to have patients. Or Patience. One of the two.

Whatever the reason for your season, I wish you peace on earth, good will towards mankind. It's nae so bad a way to live.

My pre-reader is taking a well-deserved vacation until early January. Normal service of FTMD and Rogue's Rules (and perhaps One On One) will resume shortly thereafter.

Thank you guys ever so much for bearing with me through my computer issues.

The Good News is, I'm back online. The bad news is two fold.. I'm now high 3-figures poorer and more importantly for this site, the HD with my world notes is officially gone.

My brother, who did the replacement work for me forgot that he was going to try to save what was on the HD and he had disposed of it already. Which led to the following conversation.

Brother: Hey FB, remember that thing you told me to remember?

Fozzie Bare: Yes? Were you able to save the files?

Brother: I forgot to remember. I already got rid of it last night when I finished up the computer

Fozzie Bare: (facepalm)


The good news is the new computer is fricken STURDY. It's about 50 pounds and is pretty top of the line. It's big enough I call it Frankenstein's Monster and inquired of my brother if it needed a lightning strike to power it.

So, what does this mean for my writing? Well, it means all the little sub passages I've already written and how the story's going to go? Gone. That's going to slow me down as I have to rebuild my notes from memory (which as we have already seen can be a tad bit unreliable), but it's not going to stop me

I hope to have FTMD 10 up in the next couple days. RR's will follow after that.
