Arc 4 of World of Warmachines is going, a bit slower than I like, but we're up to about 40,000 words. This will be the longest Arc I've written yet. Stay tuned.

And because I don't have time to write this, here's a story prompt that occurred to me.

Imagine a woman signing to participate in a pornographic video. She's agreed to the acts proposed (nothing major) But here's the thing. She doesn't know when it will be filmed. Or Where. She has to go through days of waiting. Wondering, will THIS be the moment she gets tapped on the shoulder, and has to perform. Imagine trying to go about her daily life, shopping, wondering if someone's going to tap her on the shoulder and lead you to the truck (with all the materials inside, including your co-stars). It's almost something where the anticipation is going to be better than the act itself. How long would this woman be able to stand the anticipation? Even in her own house at the middle of the night, it could happen. Would she start looking at every well built man (or woman), she sees, wondering "is this the one who's going to screw my brains out?".

It'll be quite some time before I can get to that idea, so I figured it would be a gift to any author to try their hand at.

The final two chapters of Arc 3, Breaking Blades are in the queue.

I'm midway through writing Arc 4, and the tentative title is "One Step Away". Guild Reforged will add TEAM Reforged, and they're about to make a go of the semi-pro ranks. This will be the largest Arc yet in material, and while I'm currently about 25,000 words in, that is only a part of it. So I'm going to take a couple weeks to write as much as I can, and in the down time, get ready to take Arcs 1-3 to an Omnibus edition for the store. Anyone who's good at editing that wants to help me out would be much appreciated.

I just picked up a book about giant robots fighting, and then pulled the emergency ripcord around page 12, when the plot basically said "These two characters have to fuck because that makes them interface with a Mech better to win a fight to stay alive".

Needless to say, I pulled the emergency ejection lever on that one rather quick-smart.

And that's STILL more plausible then the news I read today.

In the UK, today, a 76 year old man was sentenced to two years in prison for attempting to strangle someone in a theater.
The victim's crime? Singing along with Queen's "We Will Rock You" musical.

If we left it there, you'd probably say.. well strange, but..

1) The man was a former Scottish Laird (A man who owned and ran a large, historical land area)
2) Said man had been given a six year jail sentence (in Australia) in 2002 for "inciting someone to murder an ex-romatic partner"
3) Either after he got out of jail, or while he was still in jail, was given a twelve year jail sentence in 2006 for "inciting someone to murder an ex-romantic partner". Yes. AGAIN. He tried to get someone to kill his partner, AGAIN.
4) Was bragging outside the courthouse that the judge wouldn't give him a jail sentence because of his age.

When this guy gets out of jail, I think that instead of probation, he should get a shock collar put on him, and a minder who can press it if he approaches anti-social behavior. I was going to say a leash, but that's a whole another kettle of fish entirely.

Breaking Blades is approaching completion, Arc 4 is in the writing process, about 10,000 or so words in so far.

It took longer than I wanted to get Chapter 24 out. I found a certain part VERY hard to write, so I found a stopping point, and called it Chapter 24, because I said Labor Day and dammit, I'm not going to make you wait past it, or give you guys a chapter that I consider substandard.

Breaking Blades get two chapters later this morning, because quite frankly, I don't want to forget to post something if I overcelebrate too much at a Labor Day cookout.

Free Trader Mary's Dream: Chapter 25 will be up this week. I will not be more specific than that, because I will post it when I'm happy with it. You guys have been waiting a long time for that.

World of WarMachines: Continuing posting Breaking Blades 1x/chapter a day (12 chapters+epilogue) till finished. Arc 4 is NOT being written QUITE yet. I want to finish FTMD 25 before I start Arc 4, because I don't want to bounce between stories back and forth. As with the first three arcs, I will not start positing it until it's done, 1 or 2 chapters a day tops.

Would you believe I've planned out the narrative spine for the World of WarMachines series. We're at the end of Arc 2. The true end is when "People stop enjoying it", but I laid out the plot for five more arcs after the three I've either finished, or about to finish. Then a ninth arc to wrap up the story, an epilogue arc if you will.

Free Trader Mary's Dream is just entering the final third.

Rogue's Rules has a sequel planned out and plotted out, but not written.

Wastrel's Dream will start up again when Mary's Dream story ends

One-on-One's patiently waiting to return, and I owe it to them.

And I have a new story to write. It's not much yet, one chapter, but I wrote out the plot. If anyone wants to read the one chapter and tell me whether they think I should continue it or put it at a time when the other projects are finished, let me know.

Do you know how absolutely TERRIFYING/THRILLING it is to have so many projects, lovely projects, wonderful projects that need writing?

Especially when this time a few months ago, I considered dropping my subscription here because it hurt to read all those "Great stories, just could you finish ONE?" comments.

It's like riding the crest of one of those super-waves you see in surfing videos. You're thinking "God, this is awesome, I want it to last forever." and simultaneously. "Oh god, I'm going to wipe out at any moment and the wave's going to pull me under."

It's the curse of having an active imagination.
