Chapter 52: It Must Have Been a Dream

Seven hours later, Jared woke up with a powerful urge to pee. Having dealt with that, he went to his mother’s bedroom and walked in past the open door. He didn’t immediately comment on seeing his girlfriend in the middle of the bed between his mother and her wife.

“You gave me drugs, didn’t you? I’m feeling like Dorothy back in Kansas after the most fantastic dream. And you were there, and you were there—all three of you! I guess I’m the Scarecrow. Or the Cowardly Lion?”
