I've decided to leaving the voting function in action on any story that is incomplete. Any of my stories that are complete and have been complete for 6 months or more now have the voting function turned off.
"Car 54" will finish soon, but for a while after it's done, I'm taking a break. I have outside committments that must be met during part of January and early February, so don't expect a lot more from me during that time.
When I come back I will be working on the completion of "Lisa-Marie and Unca Tom" as well as "Portrait of Need" - once more real life is taking a bite out of my writing time.
but now all I can say is "WOW - what a mess!"
I have yet to find a way to isolate daily or even TRUE weekly downloads on the new system.
(Later Edit: Lazeez e-mailed to explain that by using the mouse and 'hovering' over the weekly downloads listing on the Author's Stats Page, you can get a glimpse of each day's downloads. Sorry, but all you get is about a three second peek, then pffffft, like Houdini, it disappears.)
I can take my pick of 3 totally different scores, BUT to me none of them mean SFA!
The "Trolls" and "Wishy/washy Fairies" are still voting either a 1 or 10.
Downloads have fallen off (I think???? Can't be sure!)
All in all, I'm confused, annoyed and considering bailing out completely.
(But I did promise to finish "Car 54" and I will. I keep my promises.)

(Shaking my head and frowning in wonder.)
Since 'Car 54' is so far along, I feel that it would be unfair to my readers to take a break at this time.
So, although I'm not perfectly happy with the present situation, I shall post further chapters of 'Car 54' on a more or less weekly basis.

Folks, all these recent changes have me so thoroughly confused that my brain is reeling. Just so I don't confuse you, some of the changes are not visible to readers yet, but can be viewed only by writers in their statistics area.
Since I've been so muddled by this, my writing has suffered, so until the feathers have settled and I can understand what's going on, I'm taking a break.
See ya.
