In Norse mythology, Valhalla (from Old Norse Valhöll "hall of the slain") is a majestic, enormous hall located in Asgard, ruled over by the god Odin. Chosen by Odin, half of those who die in combat travel to Valhalla upon death, led by valkyries, while the other half go to the goddess Freyja's field Fólkvangr.
War Maidens (The Story) precedes much of this but is the basis for what becomes the legend.
There was a time, long before a Viking, Norse or North-men came into use that 'The Land' seemed to be the known world. Regan, our intrepid adventurer starts on his quest with one enemy to face. Oh, if life were only so simple. He is fortunate in a way, Diana and Sigrid cross his path and decide to assist his quest. What you say? How can two silver-haired beauties win a war. Well, it is easy if your mother is Queen of the Valkyries.
This may assist in understanding the 'War Maidens' story and future stories in the 'Valhalla' universe. Related stories will feature the main characters like Regan, Ingrid, Diana and Sigrid from earlier times before the 'War Maidens'story begins. This is a compendium for reference and will be added to.
This started out as some simple research for my story 'War Maidens'. Somehow it took on a life of it's own. I think I know why! One look at Astrid and. any fool would know why!
