Emarukistan is a medieval world of city states inspired by the artwork of Emarukk. The world ranges from deserts to jungle with scattered cities ruled by warlords and noble families. It is a harsh world where wars are common and not even noble families are safe from enslavement.
Set in a fictional medieval world. 20-year-old Rachael has been a slave for all of her life when she is unexpectedly given her freedom. But freedom can be fleeting. Can she adapt to her change in social status and find her way in a harsh world where noble families aren't safe from capture and enslavement. Fortunately for Rachael she is intelligent and resourceful because she will need every ounce of her skills to survive in a world ruled by men eager to expand their own power at any cost.
Sequel to Rachael, Slave of Emarukistan. Rachael has owned the slave training house called the Halls of Valhalla for two years. Her father asks her to take in nine daughters of a distant sultan who has been assassinated. Fleeing the bloodshed, Amina and her sisters must make difficult choices if they are to survive in the cruel world of Emarukistan.
Rachael's slave training business is doing well. She agrees to train a young female slave on behalf of the Grey Monks, a quasi-religious order with an unsavoury reputation. When Rachael gets to know her trainee's background she is unwillingly drawn into the murky politics of the Grey Monks. A betrayal puts Rachael's own freedom from slavery at risk.
The Grey Monks have freed Rachael from slavery and she returns to Ashtarak. Bad weather and news about her father result in her taking temporary charge of her father's caravanserai. With so many sex-hungry men stuck in the city by blocked roads, Rachael must call on her friends to help her satisfy the men's needs. Meanwhile she plans for the future and looks for an opportunity to take her revenge on the city alderman who handed her over to the Grey Monks. Final story of a four part series.
This is a companion story to the four stories in the Rachael of Emarukistan series, which are set around the ninth century CE. Meghr is introduced in Rachael and the Warlord (part four of the series) when she is around nineteen years old. This stand-alone short story provides Meghr's back-story, and what becomes of her after she leaves Rachael's caravanserai, Wadi Halaf. This story can be read without previously reading any of the Rachael of Emarukistan series.
