Chapter 30

Susan drove up to the house in Pacific Grove. She was hardly out of her car before Alice was in her arms. Susan stood holding her for a long time. They paid no mind to the passerby's as they kissed. A common enough sight in the world nowadays.
"Oh, god I've missed you!" Alice said, tearfully.
Susan guided them into the house. They left a trail of clothing leading into the bedroom.
Much later they lay together softly stroking each others bodies.
"Why have you remained away so long?" Susan asked.
Alice was quiet for a bit, formulating her answer.
"I was a point of contention in your marriage." she said.
'How so? Ron and I sleep together almost nightly." Susan asked.
"And had I been there, we would have been sleeping together almost nightly." Alice said, softly.
"Perhaps. I'm most certain that Ron would have quite welcomed you into our bed with us. He asks about you often. I don't know what to tell him. He misses you too. We all do." Susan said.
"Yes, and I have missed you all too." Alice said.
"So you will come back with me?" Susan asked.
"I would still be a point of contention in your marriage." Alice said.
"Not if you were part of it." Susan grinned.
"I do not understand." Alice said.
"I have come here ... to ask you to marry me. To marry us. Both Ron and I. He wants it too. We have talked about it much. I have probed his heart, and mine. Take a look for yourself." Susan said, taking her hand and pulling it to her breast.
Alice got tears in her eyes.
"Yes! I would be honored to marry you both. Oh yes!" she cried, hugging Susan fiercely.
"Good. Then I won't have to hire a baby sitter." Susan chuckled.
"A bab ... baby? You are going to have a baby?" Alice asked.
"Yes, a girl, I'm fairly certain. I'm going to name her Alice. I'm sure she will be adorable, as I have already turned out one perfect body." Susan chuckled, stroking it with her fingertips.
