Rob sat on the couch reading his Sunday paper, his Starbucks treat long since gone, a cup of regular coffee steaming on the table in front of him. Elaina hadn't been around since Thursday and he was beginning to long for her. He'd tried calling the number from his phone history, but it went straight to voicemail. He called three times leaving only one message and stopped calling after that, concluding more would have been pathetic.
The was crisp and clear, the sun shining brightly, when he'd gone to the bodega for his Sunday paper, so he figured he wouldn't see her until much later, if at all. Turning to the page with the weather forecast, he frowned when he saw that blizzard conditions were predicted. Getting up, he went to the window and pulled back the shade. He saw that the sky had clouded up and it was already snowing quite hard, with the wind driving the snow nearly horizontally. He shrugged, thinking it was good he didn't need to go anywhere today.
A while later he heard a thump at the door and went to investigate. Just before getting there, the door pushed open and Elaina stepped in, her cloak coated with snow and dripping on the rug. She grinned up at him with a rosy glow to her cheeks and blew him a kiss while she hung her cloak.
"Well, this is a pleasant surprise," Rob said, gathering her up in his arms and kissing her soundly. He was startled when she pierced his tongue with a quick fang, then sucked the pain away. She finished the kiss by planting one on his nose, giggling at the look on his face.
"It's been a while," she said to that look. "I needed a taste to remind me." She didn't say what it was she needed reminding of.
"Doing anything special today?" she asked as she went to the kitchen to make tea.
"I thought I might watch a movie later. How about you? Any thoughts?"
"Movie, eh? What did you have in mind?" She was brushing her hands together as she came back, leaving the pot to boil on its own.
Rob broke out in a sly smile. "How about a vampire movie. I have the perfect one in mind." Elaina laughed at his teasing, her dainty fangs glistening, and stepped into his arms for a cuddle.
"No, really," he continued, "This one's different. It explores what life might be like for a vampire who was made too young to hide easily. Come on, try it. You might like it."
She snuggled her face to his chest. "Okay," her voice muffled by his shirt. "Only you could ask that of me."
She turned to the sound of the whistling kettle, returning with her tea to see that Rob hadn't been idle. The movie was set and a quilt was over the back of the couch in easy reach. He offered her a seat while he got some popcorn for himself. Can't watch a movie without popcorn, he thought. When he returned with his snack he sat flush up against her, pulled the quilt over their shoulders and flipped on the movie. She leaned into his shoulder and got comfortable with her tea in hand.
Nearly two hours passed with both of them thoroughly engrossed. When it was over, Rob turned the player off and turned to her.
"What did you think?" he asked, hoping she'd enjoyed it. She was looking very thoughtful.
"I liked it," she finally announced. "It was very tastefully done. Not terribly accurate, but well done all the same."
"Accurate?" he questioned, wondering how she meant it.
"Honestly, do you really think my face would morph like that into some sort of creature? Why? It wouldn't be very useful, and it would scare the prey."
"Ah ... Well, I think people need to demonize that which scares them. Evil hides in beauty and they want it out in the light. They try to take the fear out of their nightmares by making them less attractive."
"Do you think I'm evil?" she asked quietly.
He snorted. "No more than a tiger is evil. You are what you are. Evil requires malice, and I don't see that in you."
"I'm glad to hear that." She snuggled in tighter and held him.
"Take me to bed, Rob."
"It's kind of early," he warned.
"That simply means we'll have more time..."
He stood, and this time it was his turn to pull her up. Holding hands and carrying the quilt, they went to the bedroom. What they shared then was softer and gentler; making love rather than fucking. They began as they meant to continue, taking each others' clothing off, trading turns and kissing what was exposed with each article removed. By the time they were naked, they were both aching with passion.
Rather than jumping aboard and riding him like a pony, Elaina eased herself up on him: kissing his chest, his shoulders, his arms, his face. He, in turn caressed all that he could reach: rubbing her sides, dragging his nails down her spine, running his fingers through her hair, kissing her when she got in reach. While she was rubbing on him, he had somehow eased gently into her body, feeling the slow pulse of her channel. He didn't find the hard knot this time, but that didn't matter. He was wrapped up with her, inside and out, and he felt just fine.
She was lain out flat on his chest, and achieved the necessary friction by rotating her hips back and forth, looking like she was the one with the penis loving her mate. After a few minutes she started cumming. To Rob, it seemed as though she didn't stop cumming until his own release took him half an hour later. The entire time, she was leaking all over him, soaking the sheets and his body with her warm womanly oils. When he released, instead of blowing the top of his head off, it came up from his toes and engulfed his entire being. His groan came from the pit of his gut and vibrated throughout his body.
She stilled while he finished, planting small kisses all over his face. He rolled to the side, keeping himself within her and returning her kisses.
He wasn't sure if this was the right time, but a vision of Captain Jack Sparrow convinced him there may never be a better time.
"Elaina?"
"Hmm?"
"I love you."
He held her as she started shaking. "Elaina?"
"Please, Rob. Don't ask that of me. I ... I don't know what I'm feeling for you. Please?"
"Shh. It's okay. I know how I feel about you. And now you know. Nothing you can say will change that."
She shook like she was sobbing, but he couldn't see her face. He simply held her tight until she slept some long time later. He pulled the covers over them both and held her into the night.
Rob awoke with a start. He smiled thinking this was the first time he'd woken before she did, and he cherished the feeling of her in his arms. He knew she would wake soon, and when she did she would pull away, so he simply treasured the feeling while it lasted.
There was something nagging at him and he frowned while he worked at it. His eyes snapped open and he jolted. Shadows. The sun had come out and was shining across the room through the curtain's loose weave. Elaina awoke when he startled and started sitting up.
"Sweetheart, don't move," Rob said carefully.
"What's wrong, Rob?" she asked sleepily. Her eyes snapped fully open in turn when she noticed the shadows.
"Shit!" she hissed, pulling her legs up to get away from the lethal sunlight. "Ah, fuck!" She scrambled off the bed to the corner sharing the window, curling into a fetal position.
"No, no, no, no..." she chanted, watching the beam of light as it moved, away from her, but she seemed not to understand in her panic.
