Rich Kid, Secrets Revealed and a Retrospective...

This will not be a traditional story. My mental capacity will not allow it any longer. But, since the Rich Kid series is the most epic thing I’ve ever done in my entire life, I figured that I’d close the circle on it for all the fans out there.
If you have not read the entire series, stop now. There will be MASSIVE spoilers. This is a love letter for those that have read the series.
Also, it should be well know that that Rich Kid is an un official prequel to Blue Dragon’s ‘Teenage Sex life.’ Yes, he knows about it. If you have not read it, you owe yourself to do so.
At the end of the stories I’m going to post a retrospective with TONS of behind the scenes information about the story, the people in it, and the one chapter that I wrote that always makes me cry.
Ready? Buckle up!
In the 60s and 70s, Carter’s grandfather, Leo, began to build a business empire. If you’re a Marvel fan, then it’s Howard Stark. If you’re a DC fan, think of Thomas Wayne. He’s cold and aggressive but not heartless.
His son, David (Carter’s father) was born in the late 70/early 80s.
Leo was a relatively distant father, absorbed with his work. He compensated that by spoiling David throughout his teen years. As David was graduating Highschool, Leo decided that he wanted his son to make something of himself instead of just handing him money.
Leo made a deal with David. Graduate from college with a degree, any degree, and Leo would give him money, a seat on the board, etc. Just, make something of yourself.
So, David goes to college. He’s not dumb, he’s just not very motivated. David goes to class and ends up meeting Brad. Brad is a moderately shy, but very smart man from a middle class neighborhood. Somehow, they become friends. Brad is attracted to David’s outgoing personality and his ability to attract women. David likes Brad because he’s grounded and calls him on his shit when he gets out of line. They end up balancing each other out.
Around their Sophomore or Junior year, David meets Claudia. (Bio on Claudia to follow)
David is totally smitten with Claudia. She’s beautiful, she’s smart and she’s not chasing his money.
David and Claudia begin dating. David introduces the shy, innocent Claudia to all sorts of sexual things, including group sex. Claudia doesn’t resist, but starts to get a little overwhelmed by it all. (there are lines in the story about Claudia and David swinging). David also isn’t a very intellectual person. Brad and Claudia form a friendship that contains certain flirtations but neither act on it.
After a year of dating, Kate (Claudia’s younger sister) arrives. More on Kate later.
Kate is a wild child. She barely graduated Highschool and has nothing to look forward to other than working at the Dairy Queen in her home town. By this point David and Claudia are basically living together, so Kate crashes out in Claudia’s apartment.
If you have my Vampire Life story, Kate and Chelsea are based on the same people, a combination of two people. One is a girl I met on Craigslist a long time ago, and the best friend of my ex-GF when I lived in Florida named Dale.
David and Claudia introduce Kate to Brad to try to make a nice foursome. Brad and Kate pretend to date, but neither are really into the other person all that much.
David and Kate begin to flirt and there are some very awkward group sex situations. Kate and Claudia never directly interact but are in the same room when David and Kate fuck.
Brad and Claudia are not comfortable with the situation but they are both too afraid to say anything about it.
About this time Leo (grandfather) is pleased enough with David to give him some money and he and Brad begin to design and build the house on the hill.
Then, Claudia ends up pregnant with Candace.
David freaks out. He goes to his father, who pressures him into marrying Claudia.
Claudia drops out of college to take care of Candace. She’s upset about losing her own career and life goals but is confident that David will do the right thing and take care of them.
David isn’t a bad guy, he’s just in over his head. Remember at this point he is 20 or 21 years old. He means well and is decent at heart but is put in a situation that he isn’t mature enough to deal with.
Claudia and David move in together to take care of Candace. Kate is still floating around, occasionally dating Brad but she’s really not that interested.
After a year or so, David begins to snap. He’s still in college and not equipped to be a father, or to be married, or to be monogamous. So, he fucks Kate in the basement of his house. Unknowingly, he impregnates her and creates Carter.
Another year goes by and Kate gives birth. Uneducated and convinced that David doesn’t love her and complicated by the fact he is married to her sister, Kate snaps.
One fateful night, Kate shows up on their doorstep. She reveals that Carter is David’s son in front of Claudia. She leaves Carter with David and drives back to Kansas.
Claudia snaps and takes Candace and leaves.
She runs to the safe haven, Brad. David is left holding baby Carter.
That night at Brad’s house, Claudia breaks and has sex with him. This was based on a scene in True Detective Season 1. If you’ve seen it, you’ll understand. If not, watch it. You’ll get the tension.
That night, Brad impregnates Claudia with Cassie with Candace in the next room.
A few days later, Claudia returns to their house and tells David that she’s leaving him.
David admits that he failed, admits that Carter is his. Broken with grief, he promises to support Claudia.
Claudia decides that she wants to get as far away from him as possible, so she moves to Florida.
David buys her a house and supports her remotely, unaware of Cassie.
Brad never speaks of what happened between him and Claudia, but finds out years later that Cassie is his. Brad is torn between his love for Claudia and his friendship for David.
David is now alone with Carter. He’s in his early 20s and has no idea how to take care of a baby.
Somewhere along the way he manages to graduate college and get his money from his father, so he dumps off baby Carter with nanny’s and disappears to be a rich boy.
Claudia is alone raising two girls. She is supported remotely by David and assisted by Brad in secret, since he’s still in love with her.
Kate moves back home. David eventually finds her and also supports her remotely. Claudia misses her sister, but isn’t emotionally able to look for her. Kate is ready to move on with her life. This part of the story is also based in the late 90s where was easier to disappear before the internet was as common.
