Brett was camping within the national forest for a two week program putting into training his bush skills for his endurance exam. He had been in the forest for three days when he came across a clearing that was not mapped. He stayed on the outside of the clearing looking at the nice grass area with only one track inward. He continues looking around and foraging for food. He did find a water course around fifty meters away.
As he sat near the waterway but still hidden, he heard the sound of some motorbikes. Not trail bikes but heavy duty bikes. He stayed still awaiting for the sound to disappear. It did not but got closer, finally coming to a rest in what he believed was the clearing. Packing up quietly he moved to an advantage point to watch the clearing. He took out his camera to record activity and he got, activity.
Four bikers parked their bikes just off the trail road in and moved the fifth, a trike into the clearing. They removed the top and pulled out this girl who was in a cloth roll. They untied the roll and a beauty of a girl appeared. Brett turned on his camera to film. She looked angry and swore at the bikers, screaming “You will pay for this.”
The largest guy laughed saying, “Yes bitch, who, your stepdad who got us to kidnap you so you don’t go to the Will reading. Men this bitch is untouchable until Friday afternoon when I should get the message to either return unharmed or dispose?”
One of the younger guys asked “Can we use her before we dispose of her?”
He replied “Yes on Friday, hopefully she will pull the train and then we can drop her off at the sty to dispose of the carcass. The guys yelled in pleasure. The youngest boy carried her to a large tree and tied her by rope securely. She spat on him, he back handed her.
The older man yelled “Untouched idiot.” He got an oily rag and tied it to her mouth. She screamed but it was muffled.
The girl was around 19-20 years old, around 170cm with a nice attractive figure. Dressed in shorts, joggers and tee-shirt, her light brown hair was a mess from her treatment. Her skin would soon blister with it fair complexion if the sun struck her. She sat down by the tree trunk and cried. Brett looked in anger but being alone he could do nothing.
Out of the trailer the guys took out a portable BBQ and two eskies full of beer. They cooked some steaks and drank the beer. Brett knew he was in for a long afternoon. They did not give the girl anything, not even any water. They used the bushes near their bikes for a toilet, not caring of any mess they made. After three hours they restocked the eskies with beer and threw the boxes away. Brett watched and spot recorded their actions, if any of the bikies moved towards the girl he recorded their actions and hopefully words. The youngest guy pissed on her yelling “Have a drink bitch, it all your going to get.”
They carried on until 11pm when the last one fell asleep drunk. Brett moved quietly around the site and noticed five bags of strong cable ties. These he grabbed. He moved towards the girl and put his hand over her mouth, She awoke with a start. Brett put his finger to his lips. She quieten down and looked pleading into his eyes. He whispered “Pretend your sleeping, I remove your gag and get your breath back while I tie up these bastards. Don’t make a sound. Please.” She nodded in reply.
Removing her gag, he slipped back to the bikers and cable tied their feet together and to each other. Then moved to their hands doing the same, cable tie around arm then joined together. Within ten minutes he finished. Grabbing one of the empty beer boxes he stripped them of all wallets, phones, jewellery, keys, knives, basically anything loose on their body or in their pockets.
Leaving them tied, he did tie, where possible, them to the trike inside the circle. Moving back to the girl he untied her and slowly walked to one of the bikes with the beer box. He took out a key and inserted into the bike, very lucky it fitted and turned on. Taking off the brake they walked along the trail pushing the bike.
She asked quietly “Why not ride?”
Brett replied “Too close to them, the noise could awaken them. We should be OK over the next ridge. I’m Brett.”
She replied “Jenny.” They continued on in silence for the next fifteen minutes. Once over the ridge they mounted the Honda Goldwing touring bike and rode away fast. He did forget to get some helmets. Jenny held onto Brett not knowing if she was either better or worse off. They hit the quiet open road and Brett rode fast to his family holiday home about 30 minutes away. In all of that time they did not encounter any traffic. At home he moved the bike into the barn. He poured the contents of the beer box on a table and removed all of the mobile phone batteries. Jenny looked in surprise.
He took Jenny into the house and bathroom, He stripped her of her dirty clothes and stripping himself they showered together. He rinsed her clothes in the shower ready for the washing machine. She had dirtied them as they left her alone. He made no sexual approach on her. Drying themselves he gave Jenny a shower coat to wear. He walked into his bedroom and put on some shorts and tee-shirt. He came back to the bathroom and gave Jenny a tee-shirt and track-pants to put on. He smiled as he bent down and rolled up the legs.
Holding her hand he pulled her towards the kitchen. He gave her a glass of milk saying “Drink slowly” He continued to make some toast with jam. He offered her three pieces whilst he ate one. She slowly ate looking at him. “As I said, I am Brett. I was doing a survival course when I encountered you. You are safe here with me. I promise not to try anything on you. What I am worried about is what that large bikkie said about you and your stepfather? He apparently did not want you to go to a Will reading or something on Friday?”
Jenny looked hard at him “What, is that what he said. I heard stepdad but not the rest. I was too distraught to listen. Am I really safe here with you. You are not part of the bikkie group?”
Brett replied “Yes you are safe here if you do not go near the windows or outside. They might be looking for you. No I’m not part of that bully group. How about we sleep now and talk when we awake?”
Jenny replied “OK” He walked her to his bedroom and getting into bed, together, dressed, they quickly fell asleep. Within a few minutes she had moved and hugged Brett.
It was close to midday when they woke up. Brett moved to the bathroom and when finished he called Jenny, he moved to the kitchen to make some coffee and toast. She came out still looking scared. He offered her a seat with the black coffee and two pieces of toast. She sat down looking at Brett. They ate their toast in silence. He turned on the noon news. There was a story on her kidnapping and a police hunt looking in the wrong direction, they were going towards the coast. Brett looked at Jenny
“Decision time Jenny, stay here with me and work out who is trying to stop you going to where ever on Friday or surrender to the police now and let them have another chance to stop you?”
Jenny replied “You paint a rosy picture, but a factual one.” They looked closely at each other. “I could just walk out the door now and you would not stop me would you? What to do?”
Brett asked “Well start by telling me your story concerning Friday?”
Jenny looked at him, now with a little piece of mind. “Well on Friday my Grandmother’s Will together with my Mother’s Will is being read. We all have to attend to get what is allocated by 10am. Apparently. It’s being held at the solicitors office in town. Both of them died ten days ago in a traffic accident coming home from the hospital. A runaway truck ran straight into them, the driver jumped clear when his breaks failed apparently.” Brett hairs tingled. “My mum remarried two years ago to Bruce, a man I don’t really like, he has a son Colin, a spoilt brat that I never gave anytime too. Mum seemed really happy with him though. Why are you looking at me like that?”
Brett waited a minute to reply “Sorry to stop your story but something does not sound right. Sorry feel right. I do go off my feeling a lot. My Granny says I do have the touch for truth. Your story as you say it to me sound like too many coincidences. Sorry Carry on.”
Jenny said “Well mum was in love but Grandma did not really like him either. She found he seemed like an eel, slimy. Maybe something is in the Will that he wants. We have not been allowed to see it but Bruce was always searching the house out”
Brett stated “Jenny I feel the best decision is for you to stay with me here. We, yes I will help, find a way to appear at the reading of the Will on Friday. Leave it to the last minute to appear. I have to use the toilet, sit here and think things through.” He walked to the toilet and closed the door.
Returning to the kitchen, Jenny had not moved. Brett was thankful. He put on the kettle and made another coffee, this time moving into the lounge room to sit in comfort. Jenny sat next to him holding his hand. She put her head on his shoulder and quietly cried. Brett moved his arm around her, holding her tightly and kissed her hair. It took around ten minutes for Jenny to stop crying. She realised Brett had shown there were to many unanswered question when looking at the timeline. Jenny looked at Brett “Thank you, you are kind. My emotions have been all over the place with mum’s marriage, their deaths, my uni studies and now the kidnapping. How, what, can you help me through please Brett.” She held him tightly.
Brett replied “Yes I will but first, I have to get some supplies. Due to the police hunt I feel it would be better for you stay here. Lock the door after me and don’t look out of the window. I’ll toot the car horn twice on my return. Help yourself to anything in the pantry or fridge, not that there is much. The reason for going to the shops. I shall be around 60 to 90 minutes.” He hugged her and kissed her hair again.
He left by the back door and heard it lock. Going into the barn he opened the bikies wallets and found over four thousand dollars. He took this and drove to the shops. At the shops he was known and therefore not questioned why he was in the area. The police were questioning any strangers. He was grateful he did not bring Jenny. He collected his normal monthly supplies with a few extra biscuits and soaps. Walking into the new age shop he obtained some natural soap, some insect cream and shampoo. They did asked how his studies were going, he advised three months before his test. They wished him well. He returned home looking to see if he was followed. He was not.
