TUESDAY AFTERNOON LATE — SEPTEMBER 17

... Linda's face fell, but then Kathy couldn't keep her face straight any longer. "Okay, I've thought about it. And the answer is..."

"Kathy!" Linda squealed.

"Yes. I think it's a great idea."

Bill turned to look at Kathy. Astonishment wasn't even close.

While Bill was staring at Kathy, Linda seized the opportunity to squeeze his recumbent cock again, then jumped up and ran out the door, her laughter cutting off as the door slammed behind her.

Flopping back on the bed with an arm against his forehead, he quietly said, "Shit."

When Kathy's chuckles morphed into belly laughs, Madison grumped, "What are you laughing at?"

That brought on more laughter, which in turn eventually brought a grin to Bill's face in spite of himself. "At least she's happy," he sighed, "But what's come over my daughter? I mean ... well, she's never been shy around me. We used to, as a family, sit in the hot tub without our clothes. I wouldn't have an erection or anything. Uh, she's walked in on Jill and me a few times over the years. I suppose that some of them were contrived, but well, crap. This is different. I can't believe this. But there's no way in hell..."

"Don't make rash statements that you can't keep," Kathy advised, chuckling at his discomfiture.

"There is no way that I'm going to fuck my daughter. I'm not some kind of pervert..."

" ... like Jeff," Kathy finished for him, not meaning it in the least, and knowing that wasn't what Bill was going to say, but trying to shock him, instead.

"Well, no. You're putting words into my mouth."

"So, don't fuck her," Kathy said, rolling to her stomach, an arm across his chest as she stared into his eyes. "Make love to her the way you did me."

"Well, you know what I mean."

"Yeah, I do," she said. "Do you think Jeff is a pervert?"

"Well, no, but theirs is ... a special case. I mean ... Hell, I don't know what I mean. I just can't think of my daughter like that."

"Oh, really," Kathy laughed. "Want me to call her back in here? I'll bet that if she squeezed your cock for thirty seconds it would be hard as a board," she said, deliberately mixing metaphors, but not getting a rise out of Bill. Mentally shrugging, she continued, "And if she stuck a titty in your mouth you would be hard put to say no. Pun intended."

Bill was quiet for a time, his thoughts drifting. Finally, "Why aren't you jealous? You say that you love me, yet you have given your approval for me to ... make love to my daughter. That just seems..."

Kathy thought for a minute, absently running her fingers through the mat of hair on his chest. At last, "I don't really know. Maybe it's because I had to wait for you for so long while you were married to Jill, and a good bit of that time, it was obvious that it was a happy marriage. Then, again, it's apparent that you still love her, even though she's gone. The Matthews are probably a part of it, too. There's seven of them, and I've yet to see the slightest hint of jealousy. And Jeff treats them like each one of them is special to him."

She readjusted herself so that she was propped more on Bill's muscular chest. Just as she started to say something else, Bill spoke up. "This is probably caused by all Linda has been through. Her mother suddenly treating her like shit, the crap with the house and the furniture, the divorce, the move, my consenting for her to become part of a ... uh, to join with Dave and Evie. This is just something that came up because of Arlene and Jeff. She would never have thought of it if it hadn't been for them. And then, too, I guess some of it is that she's been more or less the woman of the house for some time now, with Jill gone so much of the time. Daddy's little girl might just have morphed into Daddy's woman in her mind, well, just a bit, anyway."

He intently looked at the ceiling for a moment as if to glean the answer there. Finally, "She'll forget this. After she makes love to Dave, she won't even remember it. I'm worrying over nothing. After her wedding night, she won't know I exist, let alone want to have sex with her father."

Kathy pulled his chest hair enough to get his attention, refusing to answer. "I'm hungry. Seems like we missed dinner, or supper, as the Matthews call it." Leaning over, she kissed the tip of his cock, startling him that she would put her mouth on it after they had sex.

Standing, holding the washcloth to her pussy, she said, "I'm going to go sit on the commode and let some of this run out, then I'm going to clean up a little. After that I'm hoping to find something to eat."

Bill just grinned and watched her tight little ass as she headed for the bathroom. When the door closed, he went to the vanity sink and washed his dick and balls, thinking that he could eat his weight in steak.

By the time Kathy had cleaned herself and returned to the bedroom, he had put his pants and tee shirt back on and opened the door to the sitting room. "Guess what?" he called out to her.

"What?" she asked trying to figure out what happened to her top.

"Come here and look," he insisted. "You look better without that top, anyway."

Finding the top under the edge of the bed, she put it on, then pulled her shorts on. Walking to the door she stopped. "My goodness."

"I heard someone tap on the bedroom door while I was dressing. By the time I got my clothes on and opened the door, they were gone. But they surely left us some goodies," he finished, sitting on the couch and lifting the cover on one of the dishes arrayed on the large coffee table.

Kathy took the cover off another dish. As the smells triggered an already roaring appetite, she grinned at the man that had just screwed her brains out. "These people are class. And ... they can cook," she laughed.

Kathy plopped down beside Bill, kissing him on the cheek before uncovering the rest of the food, then serving her man.

"Their timing is good, too," Bill said as he picked up his fork.

Kathy thought for a minute. "Yeah. I wonder how they knew. Maybe Linda told them."

Bill swallowed, took a sip of his drink, then replied, "Ah, it had to be coincidence. They put everything in these insulated containers to keep it hot in case we weren't ready to eat. There was just a little tap on the door. I doubt if I would have even heard it earlier while we were..."

"While you were screwing my brains out," Kathy offered.

Bill grinned back at her. "I wouldn't have noticed if the place had been struck by lightning," he laughed. "Yeah, that has to be it. They put the stuff in place, tapped on the door in case we were ... uh, done, then hauled ass.

"But then how do you suppose that they knew we were making love?" he continued.

"Hah," Kathy laughed putting a fried chicken breast on her plate, "that's easy. They knew that you signed the papers today, and it wouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure that I would be after you tonight. We came in, you talked to Dave and Evie, then we didn't come back for supper. Wouldn't take much to figure out what we were doing," she giggled.

"Yeah, it could be that. Then again Jeff's women seem to amaze me on every turn. Well, they proved that they can find him. I don't know. It just makes you wonder..."

As soon as they finished their late dinner, Kathy and Bill put everything back on the serving cart that had been left against the wall. "Let's go find everybody. I've got to talk to the Matthews."

Bill, who had just put the last item on the cart, froze. "You're going to tell them?"

"Of course, silly. They know anyway, obviously. Now we can have some girl talk."

"You're going to embarrass me to death, you know. I won't be able to look a one of them in the eye at breakfast."

"Oh, pooh. They'll probably pat you on the back and congratulate you, particularly if they heard me screaming."

"Well, they couldn't have heard that," he sighed. "The place is soundproofed too well for that."

"Well, then, I'll just have to tell them."

Bill looked at her as she held the door open for him, ushering him through as he pushed the cart before him. As they walked down the hall, Kathy obviously in high spirits, Bill glanced at her, again. My pretty little copilot has a side to her that I've never seen before. Somehow, I guess I expected her to be, as least a little, meek in bed. She wasn't. Now she's off to tell Jeff's wives about our lovemaking. I would never have expected that, either. She isn't a bit embarrassed. But I know damn well that my face is going to be red if I meet one of those women right now. Maybe they won't be in the living room.

As they stopped at the living room door, they saw Jeff sitting on one of the recliners near the window. "They're in the kitchen waiting for the dishes," Jeff called out to them.

"See you after while," Kathy said quickly kissing Bill, then pushing the cart toward the kitchen.

"Come on over and sit down," Jeff invited, motioning toward another recliner. "Pull up a seat and let's sit by the window."

As Madison settled in, Jeff continued, "You can't see much at night, other than under the yard lights, but it's easy to understand why Frank put in this giant window. The view was just too good to miss."

"It's all going to be covered with snow pretty soon," Bill said, nodding toward the outside.

"Yeah," Jeff agreed, glancing at him. "The summer was beautiful, then the fall was even better, but we're anxious to see everything covered in white. Coming from Georgia, we didn't get to see much snow. When it did snow, it was gone in a couple of days."

"Well, this won't be," Madison said adjusting himself more comfortably. "And although it's beautiful, it's also going to be a bit of a hassle."

They sat in silence for a moment, then Madison said. "We never discussed what I need to pay to live here and my daughter to attend your school."

When Jeff started to reply, Madison continued. "Don't even start, Jeff. I am going to pay. Frank Wainwright has made damn sure that I have an excellent salary. Far better than I could make anywhere else. Now let's talk money..."

Jeff grinned at Bill. "Now how much do you think I charge Frank and Margaret for living here? Seems like it would be fair to charge you the same amount, since you insist."

Bill knew he was being suckered. "I'm not going to fall for that. You two are friends, and I doubt seriously that you're charging him anything. That hasn't got anything to do with me."

"Oh, so you're saying that you aren't my friend?" Jeff asked, his grin getting bigger.

"Well, you know what I mean. Name a figure, or I'll just leave a check for what I feel is right, and I'm not chinchy."

Jeff just grinned, got up and went over to the serving cart. Picking up a carafe of coffee, he motioned.

"Yeah, I'll take a cup," Madison said.

After they had fixed their coffee and gotten settled again, Madison asked, "Have you decided?"

Jeff took a sip of his coffee, then stared through the window for a moment. "Obviously you have worked hard all your life — college, the military, commercial pilot ... I know that you're used to paying your own way. My problem is simply this. How am I to charge a friend, and if Diana is right, a fellow Alpha, for something that costs me little or nothing?"

Jeff held his hand up a little forestalling Bill's response. "My patent attorneys decided that they didn't want to wait for their percentage, apparently having heard a rumor that my radar wasn't going to sell. They took a trivial — in comparison — buyout, which will save me a lot of money over time. As I'm sure that Frank has told you, the government is going to buy a hundred trial units at an obscene amount of money. Done deal, other than the government's paperwork.

"I acquired a couple of small companies. I bought them because I had helped to produce some unique products that I expected to sell rather well, shall we say. They did. Maybe I'm just lucky — whatever. Between those deals and the investor that I've hired, I've got more money now than I had when we moved in here, and I haven't done a damn thing. But how in the hell am I going to charge you for a place to live, when you're in the area. A place that is costing me nothing and won't be used. The same goes for the school. The teacher is my wife, for crying out loud. Oh, I still pay her a salary — technically — because the accountant says that it's the way to go. But it's like transferring money from one pocket to another."

"You bought Linda a computer. I stuck my head in the classroom as we came down the hall and saw the boxes. Her desktop got snatched, but we had already taken her laptop to the plane."

"Her computer?"

Bill told Jeff about how the good doctor had someone take all the furniture out of the house, including Linda's desktop system.

Jeff starred at Madison for a moment, then leaning back, he said, "Well, she has a top-of-the-line desktop, now, and her new laptop is ordered with overnight shipping, so she'll have the exact same thing that all the rest of the girls have. Laura was actually the one who handled the transactions. The guy that runs the shop where she bought the desktop made the mistake of talking down to her when we bought the other systems, and in her mind, tried to screw over us. Helen is the resident genius, true enough, but Laura is the genius with computers. She's intimidated the guy so badly that when he told her what the price was for Linda's system, she just nodded to Helen to write the check. He darn sure didn't try to mess with her this time. Then she smiled sweetly at him and opened the case to make sure he used what he said he did to build the system."

"So how much were they?" Bill said, taking out his checkbook. "I'm going to pay for at least the two computers, at the minimum. We'll settle the other later, if you won't tell me how much."

When Jeff told him what the systems cost, Madison wrote out the check. Jeff didn't say anything, just folded and put it in his shirt pocket without comment. The check would never be deposited and Jeff hoped that Madison would be too busy to reconcile his account this month.

After a little, Madison got up and freshened their coffee. Jeff acknowledged with a nod and asked, "What made you decide to give your permission for Dave to marry your daughter?"

"So you've already talked to Dave," Bill said, taking another sip, a slight frown on his face.

"No," Jeff smiled. "I haven't seen Dave or Evie since supper. My wives told me."

Thinking that Evie must have called them, Madison said, "I don't really know. I had a little incident in the hallway when we left the attorney's office. That asshole that Jill is shacked up with was staring at Linda like he was sizing her up or something. But that's not the whole thing." Sighing, he put his half-full cup on the table beside his chair. "I had been thinking about it, like you said. Thinking about all the things wrong with letting a thirty something year old man have my daughter. And, shit, I don't know. Things just seemed to turn around in my mind. All those things that I had been thinking were wrong, just seem to be right before I knew it."
