The table Jamie had ordered online arrived.
“Nice,” said Drew. “And those flowers and the vase are a nice touch. I don’t remember that vase. Not that I’m good at remembering such things.”
“The vase came with the table,” Jamie explained. The flowers too. A kind of bonus, I guess.”
“Are they real?” Drew asked. “They look real.”
“I’m not entirely sure,” Jamie said. “I didn’t expect them. There’s a note but I don’t really understand it. ‘Congratulations on your purchase,’” Jamie read. “‘As a special thank you, we’re including this AI vase and flower combo.’”
Drew looked at Jamie. “That’s all it says?”
Jamie nodded.
“AI vase and flower combo. Sounds like something from a fast-food place. And what has AI got to do with it?”
“Beats me,” Jamie said, picking up the vase. “May you should ask it.”
“How do I ask it,” Drew started to say, bending closer to the flowers. “Ooh, they smell kind of sexy. Almost like your...” He touched one of the petals. “And it’s so silky-slippery. Almost like your...”
As Drew caressed the flower, Jamie trembled. “Oh Gosh, Drew, that feels so...”
She tightened her grip on the vase while her other hand went to its bottom. Her middle finger found an indentation.
“Jamie,” Drew gasped. “What are you...”
