Gil had had a rough time since landing on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day in WW2. He saw and experienced things that no man should have to. Since the war’s end he had pretty much just been a drifter, roaming the country from one dead-end job to another and drinking and partying heavily. He was 34 now, 12 years from that fateful day on the beach, but the memories still tortured him daily. Underneath it all, Gil was still a sensitive man just searching for a life with some meaning and stability.

Gill had just quit his job as a plumbing supply salesman in LA and moved up to the Bay Area and was staying with his older sister and her husband until he decided on his next move. He had lived with them before at different times and paid his way as a live-in babysitter when his sister’s kids were little. Now their son Matt was in the Navy and Peggy Sue had just turned 18 and graduated high school, so babysitting was off the table this time around. At least he could stay in Matt’s empty bedroom and do some household repairs. His sister’s husband wasn’t very handy, and the place needed some attention.

Gil’s sister and husband were out of town on a short business trip and Peggy Sue was the only one in the house with Gil. Gil was amazed at how she had matured since he had last seen her. She had grown into one sexy young lady, and he had to admit seeing her run around in summer shorts and a bare mid-drift top was a real treat. Peggy Sue had a real perky and naturally flirtatious nature to boot. Gil always felt a little guilty when amorous thoughts popped up about her. All Peggy Sue could talk about now was Elvis Presley, who had just been on the Ed Sullivan Show. It was for sure a new generation coming up, and Gil was feeling a little old and left out of it.

Gil spent all day Saturday cleaning rain gutters, mowing the lawn, and clearing a plugged sink. By late afternoon he decided he had earned his keep and picked up a case of beer at the corner store in preparation some relaxation and TV watching. Just as Gil settled on the couch and was working on a buzz, Peggy Sue came bouncing into the living room, fresh out of the shower and dressed in just a short terry cloth robe with obviously nothing else on underneath it. There was little doubt Peggy Sue was a full-fledged female now and she filled out that robe very nicely. Modesty was not her strong suite.
