This is a list of terms and names that come up frequently in the Endless Skies series. Since the story is not complete at this stage, I have included all the terms and names that I can think of using in the near future. This list will be updated as my story progresses further.

Federation: An alliance dozens of races spread throughout the populated worlds, formed in an attempt to combat the Saldanian armies.

Psy energy: A harnessing of the minds powers, psy energy can be used for many purposes. Strong psy users can move large objects by simply focusing on them, and have been known to even be able to break the toughest materials into pieces. In addition, psy users have the ability to mentally connect with other psy users, and, at advanced levels, are able to teleport to any place that they are familiar with. Not everyone is born with this innate ability, and the power level of those that possess it vary significantly.

Saldanians: An extremely fierce and war loving race. Averating 7 feet tall, the Saldanians are very powerful, with hides that are much tougher than human skin and sharp retractable claws on their hands and feet. As soon as their technology had advanced far enough for space travel, they had begun spreading to other worlds, enslaving or slaughtering any races they came across. Within centuries they had established the largest empire that any race held, and had struck fear among the rest of the populated worlds.

Shadow Force: An elite division of the Saldanian space force. All of the members are trained in the stealthiest and deadliest arts of fighting available to the Saldanians, and the ships are specially customized to emphasize speed and stealth.

SHIP CLASSIFICATION

Most of the capital ships in this series are classified by letter. All the ships listed below are Federation ships. Saldanian ships of similar classification can be assumed to have similar weapons/armor capabilities.

Class: H

Name: Light Frigate

Holds: 5 fighters

Weapons: 2 turbo laser batteries, 5 heavy laser batteries, 10 close range anti-fighter laser cannons

Armor: Light

Length: 200 feet

Specs: The light frigate is used mainly by police forces to patrol inter-planet starship lanes. Lightly armed and armored, the frigate cannot stand up to any of the larger capital ships. However, it is extremely deadly against enemy fighters that do not have any capital ship support.

Class: G

Name: Medium Frigate

Holds: 10 fighters

Weapons: 1 ion cannon, 5 turbo laser batteries, 5 heavy laser batteries

Armor: Light

Length: 200 feet

Specs: The medium frigate is a modification upon the Class H chassis. The 10 close range laser cannons were removed, providing space for an additional 5 fighters, and a long range ion cannon that can be used to disable enemy ships at a distance. Like the light frigate, these ships are mainly used by police forces.
