Chapter 48
Karl
10:25am
The bidding was getting hot.
"Nineteen fifty."
"Twenty."
"Twenty two."
"Twenty three."
Time to get involved. "Twenty five."
"Twenty six." the guy I outbid came back.
"Twenty seven." the guy he last outbid called.
"Twenty eight."
"Twenty nine."
I saw the two of them double checking their wallets.
That wasn't going to help them.
I still had all the money I received because my parents made me work when everybody else was doing their Halloween things.
And I could think of no better treat then Krissy. "Forty dollars?"
The other bidders turned around in shock.
"Not enough?" I asked, as calmly if I was buying pizza. "I'll go to fifty if I must."
"Well?" the teacher asked. "Forty going once, forty going twice..." The teacher paused longer intentionally.
There was a rush of pleas for loans and cash changed hands.
Mr. Packard waited while they counted.
They shook their heads no.
I smiled. I'd have emptied my wallet for this. Forty was no loss.
"Come on, Karl, pay up."
I went to the teacher, my cock hardening as I got closer to the front of the room and Krissy. "Here you go." I handed over the two twenties.
"Have fun... you've got five minutes."
I moved very close to Krissy.
Being this close to such a sexy naked girl has got be the greatest dream a teenager can have.
Krissy stood up. She pressed herself into me as she leaned in close enough to whisper in my ear. "I like it hard and rough."
Now I was fully hard. There was a side of me that liked to be rough. Not for trouble or just because I could. But to finally be in charge. In bed for example. I wanted a girl who I could do what I wanted with, so long as we loved each other. I never had the nerve to act on this before now though. "You sure?"
"Very sure." She whispered. Then in a louder voice she said, "Treat me like the fuck slave I truly am."
I looked at her for a moment.
She looked back.
Then without warning I spun her around and bent her over the teacher's desk. Then I rammed my cock in her hard.
Krissy screamed in orgasm.
"I'm gonna fuck you harder than you ever hit a hockey puck."
She came again at that.
I just kept fucking harder and faster till I came in her.
Spent and worn out, Krissy collapsed onto the floor.
"You ok?" the teacher asked. He glared at me.
Krissy was wearing a euphoric look on her face. "I'm better than that. I'm really alright."
Chapter 49
Dr. Lacroy
11am
(7pm local time)
The package I was awaiting arrived with the last post. I ripped it open like a child at Christmas.
And just like many children in the past, I was disappointed. The contents of the box were nothing like what I wanted.
There was a lot of packaging material, but no real package. Just a lot of paperwork and flyers on Sutherlandia. The flyers were for Sutherlandia Frutescens Tablets. The papers told me nothing I had not known last week.
The flyers told me something I did not want to know. Once again humanity has made a choice. The wrong choice. To take a great discovery and use it for personal profit. The plant was not created by man, yet we think a special group has the right to make money off of it.
That might almost be understandable. Human beings are not known for passing up such options. The problem is the same one that often happens in these cases. The poor cannot afford it. Unfortunately, medically speaking, these days eighty percent of sick people are medically poor. Few jobs offer insurance and the insurance offered has reduced the process to the minimum possible care they can get away with. Medical wisdom is not important if the insurance companies cannot make a profit from that person.
For about the fifteen thousandth time since I first went to medical school I started to think about the curses of a profit driven society.
Then I stopped thinking about it. I had enough things depressing me as it was.
I went over to the computer and IM-ed Tiffany. "Hi Tiffany."
"What's up doc?"
"Very funny."
"Sorry, I couldn't resist. Today has already started off bad."
"Ok. Just spare me the bad jokes. Is your translation program running?"
"Yes. But we don't need it to IM. Does your computer have a web cam?"
"Yes."
"I'm aboard the Flying Dutchman. We can switch to visual. And yes, the translator is working."
"Good. I've found our first research project. Remember our discussions on possible plant life that could help with AIDS issues?"
"Yes. You told me that there was several possibilities you were thinking about."
"True. Well, I thought I'd start with Sutherlandia."
"Haven't I heard something about them on the email list we belong to? Somebody was trying to get some sort of license on it. Some sort of tablets, I think. Hold on." Tiffany hit a few buttons and called up past messages. "Ah, here it is. Sutherlandia Frutescens Tablets. According to this email, the advertiser claimed these tablets can reduce the incidence of the wasting syndrome associated with the onset of AIDS. I don't think I heard of anything phrased as a 'wasting syndrome'."
"You would know it as an extreme loss of body weight." I told her.
"Thanks. Also the email claimed these tablets increased the physical strength and endurance of individuals with HIV / AIDS. Also it decreases the incidence of sadness and depression that is an almost unavoidable side effect for many people once they discover they have HIV / AIDS. How can it do all that?"
"Sutherlandia Frutescens Tablets contain the compounds Pinitol, L-asparagine, L-canavanine and GABA, substances which are all patented in the treatment of many of the side effects of HIV / AIDS." I paused. "Once again the things a lot of people need are restricted to those who can afford it. There are many countries where the various governmental health programs are no help. They treat this as a luxury. As if good health could in any way be considered a luxury."
"Thinking of humanity's greed?" Tiffany asked me. "We're not all bad. You are proof of that."
"As," I returned the compliment graciously, "are you."
"These tablets sound pretty good."
"Not good enough. They neither fight nor cure HIV or AIDS itself."
