Bliss

till lying on my side I looked at Elaine's face. Her eyelids had been hooded but now returned to normal and her features took on that meek look again. She turned her head on the pillow and asked me what I wanted her to do. It seemed to me she was asking what I wanted HER to do to ME if you get my drift. This shocked me a bit, I said that WE could do whatever WE wanted. She thought about this for a bit and smiled. She leaned over to me and kissed me gently on the lips. We kissed for a while sometimes hard then soft again. Suddenly I realised that tears were slowly coming from her eyes and wetting my cheeks. I lifted my hands to her head and lifted her slightly to look at her.

"I'll tell you later." she said. Nodding to her I laid her head on my shoulder and let her handle it. I wrapped my arms around her back and stroked her to hopefully let her feel that I was there for her. She wasn't wracked with sobs or anything dramatic but for about 2 minutes tears slid slowly down her cheeks onto my shoulder. I was worried but not unduly so, I thought she might be thinking of her husband. How right I was...
