The suns were high in the sky when I finally walked into Mitta’s cottage. I left Cirin sitting on a rock about a fifteen minute walk away. The pain in her arm was getting worse while we hiked down to the village and we decided I should arrange help.
During the trip down I told her about what happened the moment she’d changed back to a Neutaria. She knew about the release of the vapor, which was the way her body released the excess of tissue. I was awed by the fact that her body could disperse a massive amount of tissue in matter of seconds. It was clear their metaphysical cycle was completely focused on reproduction and getting ready as soon as possible for another chance to get pregnant.
We had discussed her bad timing changing back and we both concluded our intimate relationship had sped up the change. It was clearly something Cirin had never experienced before. The whole situation of being with Cirin was thrilling but the uncertainty was making me crazy.
Mitta’s clear voice roughly pulled me out of my thoughts. “Where is Cirincendil? Didn’t she come back with you? I thought it wasn’t such a good idea when I heard about it from Pac. And why are you undressed?”
“Oh erm,” I blurted, “I’m sorry but Cirin broke her arm when we were coming back. I’ve used my t-shirt to make a sling for her arm.”
“By Bisha, your back!” she exclaimed as she walked around me, “What have you been doing? Were you both in a fight?”
I shook my head. “I tried to cushion her fall. She needs medical attention.”
Mitta raised her eyebrows as she asked, “Why did you leave her alone if she needs medical attention?”
“She is resting by the boulders at the lake. It was her idea that I should get help.”
Mitta huffed as she looked at me with narrowed eyes. “Our medical center is next to Ninniachien’s shop. Get something to cover your chest and check yourself in. I don’t like the injury on your back.”
“But how about Cirin?”
Her mouth was formed into a thin line, making it clear she would tolerate no contradiction. As she shooed me away, she said, “I’ll contact Pac and his team to transport her. Now go!”
It was only a short walk to the center and when I arrived a Neutaria, dressed in an immaculate white suit was waiting for me. “Hello Mr. Morris,” she said with respect, “would you please follow me.”
She was as tall as me and her brown eyes complemented her bronzed face. Her ash blond hair was tied into a ponytail that reached the small of her back. I could imagine her being a stunning female after she transitioned, and I started to comprehend why the Bishojan society was thriving.
“Thank you,” I said subdued while I tried to keep up with her.
The medical complex seemed empty, and I wondered if I was the only one in the building. She opened a door to a room and as soon as I had stepped into the small space she said, “If you would undress. You may keep your briefs on. The doctor will examine you shortly.”
She didn’t wait for my response and left the room, closing the door firmly.
As I was unbuttoning my shirt a person knocked on the door and opened it without waiting for my response. I was stunned when a fellow Earthling stepped into the room. Her smile was soft when she said, “Good afternoon, Mr. Morris. My name is Doctor Hermosa and I’m your physician for today.”
My throat felt really dry because I couldn’t believe my eyes. I had always dreamt about a drop-dead gorgeous doctor who would do a thorough examination on me and that was about to become reality. It was clear she had Hispanic blood running through her veins and her unblemished olive skin contrasted beautifully with the immaculate white coat she was wearing. Her thick eyebrows together with her dark brown eyes demanded my unbridled attention while her full lips begged to be kissed.
It was obvious she knew I was completely awed by her appearance, but she decided to ignore it and continued saying, “I’ve heard your back needs to be examined.”
I rolled my eyes because it was clear Mitta had issued her orders. “It’s just a bruise from when I fell against a rock.”
Then her eyes saw the nasty bump on my head and then as she carefully pulled the hair away, she asked, “How did you get this? It looks like you had quite a collision with something. Have you had any dizzy spells at all?”
I bent down a bit, giving her better access with the result I could blatantly admire her ample cleavage. I cleared my throat before I could answer, “Erm, it did knock me unconscious.”
“For how long?”
I shrugged my shoulders. “Not very long.”
She narrowed her eyes. “How do you know?”
“The suns were still high in the sky, so I guess I was out for twenty minutes, tops.”
She nodded. “Can you take off your shirt so I can see the bruise on your back?”
I obliged instantly and as I turned my back to her, I asked, “You are from Earth, aren’t you?”
Her warm fingers softly felt around the tender spot as she responded, “I am. I’m assigned to Earthling patients on Bishojo.”
“That makes sense,” I said contemplating her answer, “So, you’re not treating any Bishojan?”
She laughed sarcastically. “I invested seven years of my life to get this position. I’m fully qualified to treat all races that might be on this planet.”
“I see,” I murmured.
“Well,” she said as she gently pulled the fabric of my trousers away to look at the bruise at my hip, “Next time please pay extra attention on your hikes. As far as I can see you’ve been lucky and didn’t break any bones. I’ll treat the bruise on your back. Make yourself comfortable on the table.”
“Thank you, Doctor Hermosa,” I murmured as I laid, facedown, on the examination table.
The clicks of her heels sounded loud as she walked towards a cabinet. “I gather you’re staying at Mittanyariel’s cottage.”
“I am.”
“This will hurt a little,” she said as she firmly pushed her hand right into the sore spot.
I couldn’t prevent a groan escaping from my lips because it felt like she deliberately stabbed her fingers into my bruised back. Gradually the stinging pain was replaced with a soothing warmth that spread over my body completely while she massaged the lower part of my back. It was clear there was a strong painkiller in the concoction she used on my back because I was getting drowsier by the minute.
There was an urgent knocking on the door and the Latina responded almost annoyed, “Come!”
It was the same Neutaria who had welcomed me, and she was clearly in a state of shock. “Doctor,” she said softly, trying to be discreet, “We have an emergency in room nine. The Matriarch, she’s in a bad state. A fracture of her left humerus and signs of a minor concussion.”
“I’m sorry Mr. Morris,” the Doctor said with a sigh as she stopped sliding her fingers over my skin, “duty calls. It seems my attention is needed in room nine.”
I knew it was Cirin who must have been brought in by Pac and his team. I remembered her telling me she was a regional Matriarch, but it was funny to realize that she was treated as an important personality at the village. My voice was a little slurry when I said, “Sure, do your magic on her, Doctor.”
She chuckled but then she said with an authoritative tone, “Cover him with a thermo blanket and connect him to the grid for observation.”
I woke up when the door was opened. It was a little disorientating because it took me a few seconds to realize I was in the medical center. I saw wide hips of a female who was clad in a pristine white doctor’s coat. Then it all rushed back into my somewhat compromised brain; it was the lovely doctor Hermosa!
I turned my face to have a full view of the amazing Latina and I was suddenly aware she was not pleased with the situation she was in. Her arms were crossed, and her feet were placed apart, ready to attack.
“Why the hell didn’t you tell me you were hiking with the Matriarch?”
I stared at her for a few moments, trying to formulate my answer. I didn’t want to risk that Cirin would get in trouble because she told me things I shouldn’t know. “I, I’m erm, not sure. I guess I didn’t want to brag about it.”
She snorted. “Not good enough.”
“I, I’m afraid I can’t tell you more Doctor.”
She pinched her nose as she said, “Look Paul. I knew about her being a female Tarakona. Can you please tell me what you saw before she fell?”
Shocked I looked at the Latina. “You knew? How? When?”
She rolled her eyes. “Because I was there with her and Mittanyariel before she was moved to the travel lodge. It was an opportunity I didn’t want to miss. I probably will never see a female Tarakona again.”
I nodded. “So why are you upset with me? I assume you knew why Cirin was still alive after the Tarakona attacked her.”
“I’ve heard your first name mentioned several times but when Mittanyariel called us she gave only your surname. So, when the Matriarch asked where you were I had to ask Mittanyariel to learn you were here all the time.”
I still wasn’t convinced she knew how the transition of a Bishojan occurred and I didn’t want to take the risk revealing this information just like that. I decided to divert the conversation. “How is she at the moment? Did you fix her broken arm?”
She nodded. “She is resting, and she wants to see you.”
It took me some effort to heave myself off the table and while standing on my unsteady legs I asked, “So, where is this notorious room nine?”
“Whoa!” Doctor Hermosa exclaimed as she firmly grabbed my arm, preventing me from falling backwards, “You’re not fit to walk.”
I couldn’t prevent myself from bumping into her voluptuous chest. “Oops, sorry,” I said with a stupid grin plastered on my face, “I don’t know what kind of medication you’ve given me, but I have trouble keeping my legs straight at the moment.”
