Chapter 585

You and Gemma managed to string out the phone sex for almost twenty minutes before you ended up coming into a wad of toilet paper while she moaned in your ear from across the world. She didn’t reach an orgasm but assured you that unless she was in bed with a dildo and vibrator while the two of you had phone sex, she wasn’t likely to anyway. She was more enjoying the feeling and slow build and being desired by you.

Once you ended the call and cleaned yourself up, it didn’t take much to grab a couple more bags and head out. It would take one more trip for the last of it. The bus ride was quiet, and you texted a warning to Sabrina that you were heading back and she replied with a Thumbs Up emoji. When you arrived and headed up, you slowed as you approached her apartment door because you could hear raised voices.

Part of you wanted to be a nosy bitch and listen in, part of you wanted to turn around and walk away. The last part of you, the lawyer, wanted to wade in and mediate.

The good news was that they must have been yelling at each other in the bedroom, so couldn’t tell what they were saying, which meant the rest of the hallway couldn’t either. Well, unless they started in the kitchen and moved to the bedroom partway through.

It took two rounds of knocking for you to be heard, and both of the voices stopped trying to talk over each other.

The door opened and Sabrina was looking at you with a little smile. “Hey, baby,” she said. “Welcome home.”

‘Thanks,” you said, a little thrown by the very calm, moderately sweet way she was acting. “Is ... everything OK?”

“It will be,” Sabrina said, pulling the door open further so you could come in. They had both changed out of their dresses and Sabrina was wearing a loose pair of sweatpants with the same T-shirt from earlier, while Emma was in yoga tights and a tank top. “Right, Emma?”

Emma just stared stonily for a long moment. “I’d rather not talk about it,” she said.

“We’re pushing pause until tomorrow,” Sabrina said.

“O ... kay,” you said. “Tasha had a good set tonight, she sends her love.”

Sabrina smiled at that and went on her toes to kiss you lightly. “Drop your stuff in the bedroom, I’m going to make some popcorn. Want some?”

“Please,” you nodded.

For all the wild, strange and downright odd nights you had spent in Sabrina’s apartment, the following couple of hours might have been the weirdest. Emma wasn’t giving you two the silent treatment, per se, but you weren’t sure if you heard a response to anything that wasn’t a monosyllabic grunt. Sabrina was in some sort of ‘super sweet’ mode like she’d shut off her argumentative side.

When you eventually went to bed, Sabrina wished her sister a good night and shut the bedroom door softly without getting a response.

You opened your arms to her and she stepped into them almost gingerly, hugging you with a light touch. “Was it that bad?” you whispered.

“Just let me cool off tonight,” she said quietly. “We’ll do round two tomorrow, and I just want to feel you right now.”

“OK,” you said and slowly went about undressing her in as pampering and loving a way as you could. Gemma sent Good Night texts and you both responded, and then Sabrina curled up as the little spoon and hugged your arm around her and sighed.
