Chapter 584

Tasha wouldn’t tell you any more about this apparent ‘surprise’ that Sabrina was organising for the next day. You were damn sure it wasn’t going to be another sex-fest - at least not with Emma around. But then, it was Sabrina ... No, she wouldn’t.

Tasha still decided to leave with you, not wanting to stick around knowing that Iris was almost definitely going to tell Mosche about seeing the two of you kissing or after what the petite girl had almost said about her. The two of you headed outside and took a walk down the block, Tasha looping her arm with yours much like Sabrina would. In the end, you stopped and both called for an Uber, and then she grinned up at you and kissed your chin. Then she licked your lips playfully, her eyes gleaming in the streetlights.

You groaned, sliding your hands from her waist to her ass, letting your fingers slip into the back pockets of her jeans. “You’re still trying to convince me,” you said.

“No, I’d never do that,” she chuckled, then tilted her lips up a bit more to ask you for a kiss. You gladly gave it to her, slowly making out on the street corner and losing sense of time until her Uber showed up. She left you with a wink and a grin, blowing you a kiss before closing the door.

“God damn, why am I letting her drive away?” you sighed. You were hard now. But the same reasons you had to say no in the club were still true.

Your ride showed up a couple of minutes later, and you were off to the apartment.

With Iris and Mosche still at the club, you had no reason to worry about just walking into your own home - fancy that - and getting to work on packing the last of your stuff. Once you had it piled by the door of the bedroom, you looked around at all the things you were leaving behind. The stuff you’d been living around for the last four months, thinking you were occupying someone else’s space.

Who had Tommy been?

Did you even really want to know?

It felt weird that the answer was no. Learning more about the guy would make the whole thing just get more surreal. The posters on the walls, the stuff in bags in the closet. The cheap decorations, like the broken lava lamp ... it all had a different tone now as you looked at it and knew the guy was dead.

The one thing you wanted to know now was how. Sabrina was right, you really should have asked earlier.

Finished with the last of the packing, you sat down on the desk chair and called Gemma.

“Hey, love,” Gemma answered on the third ring.

“God, I miss you,” you said with a smile just hearing her voice. “Still good to talk?”

“Yes,” she said and then sighed. “I miss you too. Now please expand on everything.”

You chuckled and worked her through what had been happening since you finished work. She was just as shocked at Mosche’s assumptions and weird decisions as you and Sabrina and teased you about not getting the information right away. Then you ran her through meeting Emma, and the weirdness, and Sabrina trying to manage it. You ended with Tasha’s set, and getting caught by Iris, and needing to not hook up.
