Chapter 5: The Trap is Sprung

The Battle for the Cargo Bay.

Jacob and Jack entered the Cargo hold only to be confronted with additional Cerberus reinforcements. Miranda called more personnel from her Lazarus cell to board the Normandy and they all had their guns pointed at the pair entering the shuttle bay.

“Get them” Captain Carl yelled to the soldiers pointing their weapons at Jack and Jacob.

“I will destroy you!” Jack yelled going full berserker and running to the overwhelming enemy.

Jacob’s eyes went wide when he saw the trap laid out for the charging Jack, who appeared to have no idea of her surroundings just the people she wanted to kill. She did not even notice the entire squad of engineers. They all shot their damping attacks at the same time.

Jack did not even get a chance to hit them with her Shockwave. It was too late by the time she noticed her powers were disabled she was shot with a tranquilizer dart and tackled by four men.

Jacob was not so easily taken however, and picked up one of the engineers with his throw and ducked an attack from a biotic.

Jacob fired his Avenger right at a couple of regular soldiers and they started to drop like flies, which led to the entirety of the Cerberus cadre to seek shelter, it was a fight for the Cargo Hold.

Jacob fought off the cadre of soldiers for about half an hour, in the end it was a drone from one of the engineers that got him in the back, causing him to collapse on the ground.

Clash of the Titans.

Shepard had no idea Kelly Chambers had been under the influence of Miranda, but she was sure as shit going to make Miranda pay for this betrayal. She stormed across the ship yelling Miranda’s name. She sent Jack to look in the Cargo Hold while she would go straight to the crew deck. She knew if she was going to kill this mutiny, she must defeat Miranda in front of all her weak ass Minions. Plus, she had a wild card up her sleeve. Grunt, the welp imprinted on Shepard as his mother, or Battle master. Let the crew try to clump together to take her down with a charging Krogan at their backs she laughed. Plus, she had Ashley Williams with her, Shepard would not be so easily subdued.

The elevator opened yet no one was in sight. Shepard aimed her omni tool forward. The Sentinel had her overload ready to mess with Miranda’s biotics. She also had her neural shock blast on standby to hit her right afterwards. She then motioned for Ashley to go into the Krogan crew quarters to see where Grunt was, and immediately started aiming her Omni tool to take care of any surprises. She stepped slowly into the cafeteria, still no sign of Miranda. Then over the PA system,

“Shepard, looking for me, I am at my station which is more than I can say for you. Come to my office if you want to settle this, I have instructed the crew to their quarters, so none of them get hurt.” Miranda echoed in her usual haughty tone.

“I had to put your Krogan to sleep I hope you do not mind, he would not take my orders to stand down, so we shot him with a Krogan sleeping agent, made especially for their species, the more the Krogan fights it the more sedative gets injected, like a chemical fishing net” Miranda laughed.

Oh, and it seems that EDI just subdued your former crewmate, my, my she is a morsel. This has just gotten much more fun.” Miranda laughed.

Shepard shook her head in anger and stormed towards Miranda’s office. She was so pissed that she saw red.

She opened the door with her arm forward aiming it at Miranda who for her part was simply sitting with her elbows on her desk and hands clasped as she always does.

“Oh my it looks like my kitty does have claws, no cheating deary. “Miranda said as she hit a button on her desk, and from above the ceiling a bolt of electricity hit Shepard’s Omni tool until the holographic interface disappeared and the wrist bracelet that powered it unclasped from Shepard’s wrist and fell to the floor in a trail of white smoke.

Shepard gasped as she clutched her wrist looking at Miranda who now was standing up and glowing blue.
