“Some guy tried to slip something in our drinks,” Becca shouted to be heard over the loud music.
“And another guy tried to distract us for him to do it by dancing up on me and grabbing my ass,” Wanda said, continuing to grimace.
“Fuck,” I said, a pit opening up in my stomach, and my immediate reaction was to look around for these two assholes. Never mind the fact that I didn’t know who they were or what they looked like.
“It’s fine, stud,” the metalhead woman assured me, having accepted the water I offered with a smile and grabbing my arm to give it a little reassuring shake. “I saw it happen, and the guys in my group grabbed the two assholes and hauled them over to the bouncers.”
“I’m so fucking sorry I left you two,” I said, trying not to let it growl too loudly in my chest as I scooped my arms around both of my girlfriends, and they hugged me tightly. Then I looked up at the other woman and mouthed a big ‘Thank You.’
“It’s not your fault, Robbie,” Becca said loudly. “You can’t be everywhere.”
I let out a deep breath and then squeezed them tighter for a moment before kissing each of them on the head. “That’s from Cattie,” I said. Becca pulled from me first, stepping back to include the other woman in our small circle, while Wanda stayed close and I kept my arm hugging her around the shoulders as she held on to my waist. “Thank you,” I said to the other woman again.
“Hey, we all gotta look out for each other,” she said with a bit of a cynical smirk. “Assholes like that need to be kicked out ASAP. And maybe get their teeth kicked in, too.”
“Did your friends get in a fight?” I asked.
She shook her head, smirking a little more casually. “Grabbed ‘em both by the scruff of their necks and hauled ‘em off. Your girl slapped the grabby one fuckin’ hard across the mouth, though. He might have a couple of loose teeth.”
