Chapter 70: New Arrivals

Fantasy Sex Story: Chapter 70: New Arrivals - For fifty years since the capture and transportation of their forebears to Thurn, the women of a race the Thurnians call Elves have been at the mercy of the citizens of Thurn. Although talented in metal and leather work, it is the Elves beauty and sexual allure to Thurnian men which is in most demand. Wealthy men are now creating private harems of Elf Maidens while government officials wrestle with the problem of the ever-increasing population of Elves in Thurn.

Hinano and I remain in Bardos while Jaro and the others journey back to Madiana. Fortunately the weather remains fine, and the sea isn’t too rough for the Esme’ to make the passage with the Amelia in tow. There’s still no sign of the Hesperus, although we can only guess at the likely date of their arrival. We are still assuming the Hesperus is heading to Bardos, which is far from certain given the questionable reliability of the information we’ve been given.

Kora and Tayn help us find a source of bedding and other items we will need for those who will be living on the Amelia. The tradesmen promise to hold the items aside until we can pay for them. I doubt the tradesmen would have been so helpful had Karo and Tayn not been with us. The pair are well regarded among their peers despite being of Tomyris descent.

We expect the Esme’ to return to Bardos in four or five days time. Not only will they need to anchor the Amelia in a suitable location, but Teuila will need to work through the wish list of new technology that the Bardos administrators gave her. Fortunately Arona is able to help Teuila communicate with the Aegle Potiora, so hopefully they’ll be able to extract enough information to prise some money out of the Bardos administrators.

Tayn, Kora and Mohi are an enormous help as Hinano and I prepare for the arrival of the Hesperus. Even if the Hesperus never reaches here, a lot of what the five of us are doing will be invaluable in helping settle those who will soon emerge from hibernation. While Hinano is nominally in charge of our activities, I find that Tayn and Kora look to me for instructions. Before long even Hinano is deferring to my opinion and advice. Without asking for the role, I become the de-facto leader of our group.

My relationship with Tayn develops from a lust driven liaison into a more personal and intimate friendship. I hesitate to call it a romance since I never experienced such a thing in Thurn. My relationship with Tamaz is a friends-with-benefits arrangement, which doesn’t preclude either of us having sex with other people. I suppose the relationship Tayn is offering is something similar, and only differs by the presence of physical tokens of our union. I gradually accept that I’ll never be welcome back in Thurn while the Purists exert such influence. As a consequence, I drift towards accepting Tayn’s offer of a formal relationship.

Further developing my relationship with Tayn is put to one side for the moment when we receive news of the pending arrival of the Hesperus. Forewarned that the Hesperus may abandon its passengers in Bardos, the harbourmaster insists that the Hesperus anchors in the bay while an inspection and negotiations are undertaken. While the Tomyris intend to accept the passengers into their community, Jaro was only to make vague promises to the harbourmaster before the Esme’ departed with the Amelia in tow. Even now, we are still several days away from being able to do more than offer token support to the women aboard the Hesperus. At least the harbourmaster is willing to work with us, and the official inspection of the Hesperus’s ‘cargo’ will give us details of the number and condition of the transported women.

The Hesperus is one of Thurn’s more modern ships and it attracts admiration from several Bardos seamen along the quayside. The harbourmaster asks for one of us to join him in the inspection of the Hesperus. I’m taken by surprise when Hinano asks me to undertake the task. I join the harbourmaster and three of his men in their small boat as we sail out to where the Hesperus is anchored. The predominantly Thurnian crew treat me with barely suppressed hostility as soon as they see my elven ears. However the harbourmaster will stand for no nonsense and the Hesperus’s Mariner navigator calms his Thurnian captain and officers. Things go from bad to worse when the inspection of the Hesperus reveals no passengers, but plenty of evidence that people have recently lived in the cramped conditions of the hold.

“Where are your passengers?” asks the harbourmaster.

At first the captain denies that the Hesperus was carrying passengers despite the plentiful evidence around the hold that it contained human passengers quite recently. The Mariner navigator is the first to break ranks with his captain when the harbourmaster threatens to arrest the crew of the Hesperus on suspicion of murder, and impound the ship. The threat is enough to break the captain’s resolve, and the truth is quickly revealed. It seems that the captain anticipated problems in offloading his passengers in Bardos, so he stopped in a bay on the eastern side of Bardos and abandoned his passengers there. Mercifully he left them with sufficient food for several days. I’m not sure if he intended to tell the Bardos authorities about the location of his passengers after he refuelled the Hesperus, or whether he was planning on departing and leaving the women to their fate. Even though the eastern coastline of Bardos is sparsely populated, there’s a reasonable chance someone would discover the abandoned group within a few days.

“It was fortunate that you forewarned us that the Hesperus was carrying passengers,” says the harbourmaster to me once we are back on shore. “We wouldn’t have made an inspection of the hold had they simply stopped in Bardos to refuel.”

“What happens now?” I ask.

“The captain and officers of the Hesperus are spending the night in jail while the Bardos administration decides what to do,” replies the harbourmaster. “The police chief has dispatched a few of his men to locate the abandoned women and bring them back here.”

“What will happen to the women?” I ask.

“I don’t know. One option is to have them re-embark the Hesperus and send it on its way, but that may simply result in the women being abandoned elsewhere. If you are serious about taking them to Madiana, then I suggest you do so soon before another fate is decided for them.”

“The Esmeralda is due back here in the next few days,” I reply. “Is there anywhere to house the women until we can take them aboard the Esme’?”

“We can probably find some space in one of the waterfront warehouses,” replies the harbourmaster. “It won’t be very comfortable, but it’ll be better than sleeping out in the open.”

Later that afternoon the women are marched under escort into the town. News of their circumstances has swept through Bardos town, so their arrival is watched by scores of local residents. Many locals seem sympathetic to the elves plight, but racial slurs and a general unease about an influx of elves mean that long term settlement in Bardos is out of the question. I don’t admit to any of the Bardos officials that this group of elves may only be the first of several shipments of deported Elf Maidens. Until we understand the extent of the Purists grip on Thurnian politics, we’ve no idea how many Elf Maidens may be sent to the Ribbean Sea.
