Chapter 65: Return to Madiana

Fantasy Sex Story: Chapter 65: Return to Madiana - For fifty years since the capture and transportation of their forebears to Thurn, the women of a race the Thurnians call Elves have been at the mercy of the citizens of Thurn. Although talented in metal and leather work, it is the Elves beauty and sexual allure to Thurnian men which is in most demand. Wealthy men are now creating private harems of Elf Maidens while government officials wrestle with the problem of the ever-increasing population of Elves in Thurn.

Tayn has overplayed his hand. His attempts at dominating me might work against a Tomyris woman, but my upbringing has made me fiercly independent. In Thurn, young elves of either race are nurtured through a life of hard gruelling labour, and obedience to those in charge of us. Strangely that develops a strong streak of self-reliance that continues to grow as we mature into adults.

Tayn’s and my battle of wills ends in my favour. I refuse to accept the collar he wants to place around my neck. Eventually he concedes defeat and unbinds my arms. At least he has the courtesy to apologise, although I’m unsure whether his words are sincere, or a final attempt to seduce me.

“Having sex with you was great,” I say to Tayn as I dress. “But I’m not going to allow you to possess me.”

“That’s not what a collar represents,” says Tayn, although his recent actions suggest otherwise.

“I’ve only been in the Ribbean Sea for a few days,” I reply. “Your customs are strange to me, and I’m not going to rush into things that I might regret later.”

Tayn finally accepts my reasoning even though he’s not happy with my refusal. I suppose from his point of view he has very few women with whom he can mate. I don’t know how many of the women at Aegle Harbour are in a relationship with someone, but the pool of unattached adult females may be very small.

At least Tayn and I part as friends. Arikiwi and I board the Esme’ shortly after dawn the next morning. Gaelan was discharged from the care of the Bardos medics late yesterday and he’s recuperating aboard the Esme’. He hasn’t recovered enough for normal duty, so Yesha has taken over as chief engineer for the time being. Gaelan refuses to sit idle, so Jaro gives him the task of repairing the damage to the sail caused by the storm.

As soon as Arikiwi and I board the Esme’, Jaro orders the ship’s engine room to prepare for departure. It will take around an hour for the steam pressure in the boiler to be sufficient to power the engine, so we have time for breakfast and to share our news with the others.

“What are we going to do about bringing Elf Maidens from Thurn to Madiana if we have no money to pay for transport?” asks TM, still obsessed about the failure to locate the Tomyris money they once had deposited with the Bardos port guild. “Do you think we should find out where the money went?”

“Kora believes that those living in Aegle Harbour withdrew the money to help establish their settlement,” says Arikiwi.

“Yes. Tayn said the same thing to me,” I add. “In any case, it was too long ago to be able to recover it now. Those in Aegle Harbour have just as much right to the money as Hinano, Akamu and the others.”

“So what do we do now?” continues TM.

“We will return to Madiana and see if Arona has had any success in establishing whether she can communicate with her sister through the Potiora ... without alerting those monitoring the Lampetia Potiora in Thur.”

Even as I answer TM’s question, I realise the impossibility of exchanging messages with Arona’s sister without the Thurnian scientists monitoring Lampetia being altered.

“Perhaps you should simply focus on your research paper, and leave the Tomyris to sort out their own future,” says TM. “After all, that’s what the Education Centre is expecting you to do with their money.”

“And how I can I justify abandoning the Tomyris after we decided to arouse them from hibernation?” I fume at TM. “Besides, the money used for our journey here was a bequeath from an anonymous donor, not the Education Centre’s own funds. As for finding a way to pay for bringing Elf Maidens to Madiana, then I’ve no idea at the moment ... but I haven’t given up hope.”

I suspect that TM’s unhappiness has more to do with me fucking Akamu, Hinano and Tayn in recent days, making TM jealous. Perhaps I’m being unfair on TM since this expedition would never have become a reality without TM’s cooperation and help. I would offer to take him aside for sex, but there’s too much activity around us as the ship prepares to depart.

Jaro assigns his depleted crew to the various tasks to prepare the ship for its journey to Madiana. Even Akamu and Hinano offer to help Gaelan repair the small tears in the sail that the storm caused on the way here. I’m the only one not assigned to a shipboard task, so I retire to my cabin and write up my copious notes about my discoveries in Bardos and Aegle Harbour.

Our journey back to Madiana is made in pleasant weather and gentle seas. However, I’m so engrossed in working on my research paper, I barely notice the journey. It’s only when Arikiwi comes to tell me that we are entering the bay near the Aegle Potiora that I venture on deck. It’s early afternoon when Jaro orders his crew to drop anchor. Jaro has decided that the island is safe enough to allow his crew to have shore leave on rotation. However, he insists that they don’t venture too far off the beach, and that one of them stands guard, armed with the solitary rifle the ship carries.

I wasn’t aware the Esme’ carried a firearm. They are virtually unheard of in Thurn where the manufacture of pistols and rifles is strictly controlled by government agencies. Only designated military riflemen are allowed to train in their use, and the weapons are usually locked securely away. The Merope produce rifles, but like most of their metalwork products, the quality is poor. Jaro’s rifle is much better made.

“When and where did you acquire a rifle, Jaro?” I ask when I see the lethal weapon.

“I bought it from a trader in Bardos while you were ashore,” replies Jaro. “He could only provide twenty bullets for the magazine, so we need to be careful about using it.”

“Is any of your crew trained to use a firearm?” asks TM.

“No. But how hard can it be? You raise the stock to your shoulder, line up the barrel to your target, and pull the trigger.”

I don’t think it will be as easy as that, but I’m not qualified to offer better advice. Firearms are among a batch of ancient technology that Thurn’s manufacturers have been researching and are gradually mastering. As the Merope have shown, understanding the theory doesn’t always equate to a workable application of the technology.

Harry and Roland are kept busy rowing people back and forth so that the crew can take their turn relaxing on the beach. After the dangers we faced during the storm, I don’t begrudge their desire to relax and let off steam.

As for me, I accompany Akamu and Hiniano back to the Potiora. I offer to bring TM with us, but Jaro still insists on keeping at least one of Arona, TM and me within close proximity of the ship. Jaro’s caution reminds me that although we haven’t encountered any dangerous animals on Madiana, there’s plenty of evidence that large animals are nearby. However, Akamu and Hinano don’t seem worried, so I relax.
