In a world of pristine beauty, the great mystery of New Olympia remains hidden in the mortal realm. Sealed in the exoplanet of a seemingly dead world, the United Worlds Alliance doesn’t know the truth that lies beneath its rocky surface.
Once again, we have returned to the world of New Olympia. Deep inside its hollowed-out core is an environment made for any living being to enjoy. The Gods of former Earth took great liberty and care in how they wanted this. As humanity and the Itreans fight their wars, the immortal ones that once called themselves mythics have embraced this planet as their home. It is safely tucked away for the unknowing to wonder. The UWA does not need this world, seeing it as a wasted effort to settle upon. However, that is precisely the intention of the New Olympians. If humanity were to discover the truth, it could alter or devastate their beliefs ... at least from the New Olympian’s viewpoint. At worse, the humans would desperately seek the gods for help in their survival against the savagery of all enemy Itreans and possibly more. For now, the Gabatrix Era must be decided by the actions of mortals.
Instead, New Olympia’s destiny lies within itself. Where they find oblivion outside the great expanse of the universe, they find beauty in their creations. The great forest of the planet dots the visible spectrum. Consisting of much of the interior planet, it is illuminated by its glowing core, the place where the Great Ones reside. Magic is the literal reason for this place to exist. However, as time passes, perhaps there is more to it than one simple explanation.
Standing high near the planet’s core is a massive circular sphere enveloping every living being. Clouds even block some of this visual sight. The glowing center provides light and dims naturally in time to induce night and day. An atmosphere is there for all to enjoy, speak, and breathe. However, there is one singular line of green that takes up a sizeable portion of the planet’s interior surface. It is the Garden of New Olympia.
The great forest is designed for one singular purpose, to return to what it once was. Eden was only the beginning. It was an experiment and nothing more. The gods wished to surpass it, and they got their wish. It was said that the combined efforts of the divine took less than a day to hollow it out and make it habitable. A few cities line the edges of the billions of hectares of forest. There is so much room to expand upon that most of the world is still uninhabited. It is a place of beauty where one can find peace or be closest to kin. The great technologies mixed with magic have formed a place where there is little fear of death or suffering.
However, there is one thing that hurts the immortal ones the most ... loneliness. On a planet that has more women than men, the end result is that the men have to be brought from the outer worlds to here. It is the one thing that the New Olympians have little control over. The tourists have the choice ... to stay and never return to their homes or return home with their memories altered. The secret cannot escape. The mortals that do stay have everything promised to them. New Olympia is heaven, a place of food, shelter, marriage, family, and away from the war. For some bachelors, the temptation is beyond all measure. In the hearts of those mortals is a lingering desire to find love. Even for the immortal ones, good or evil, all must find companionship and longing for the other.
The Garden of New Olympia serves as that new beginning. Many newcomers come to the forest. The rules are simple: you enter the place of life, shed your clothing, and proceed into the green. Eventually, you will find another that searches for the same thing that they desire, love. Sex and romance fill the veins of all trees. Energy blooms through its flowers. Food grows everywhere, and pristine springs run through the most unexpected of places. The towering constructed pylons provide anything for the visitors to have. Food, water, assistance, it is all there. Some choose never to leave. Its beauty captivates and enraptures many. Some choose to bear their children in the forest. For many, it is the perfect rendition of paradise.
In mere moments, the great core will begin to darken. Nighttime is approaching. For some, it is time to rest; for others, it is time to flourish. We quickly drop down to the vastness of the Garden of New Olympia. There we can view the landscape in its most remarkable detail. Within mere moments, we pass through the clouds and are surrounded by lush beauty. Somewhere fifty kilometers from one of the great hilltops is an open field area. A few trees provide shelter from the overhead light. The tall grass obscures some of the tall blooming flowers, exhibiting their exotic colors of red and blue petals.
As the core dims, the overall scene grows dark. The wildlife, mostly plantlife, responds almost immediately to the sudden change. The same flowers begin to give off a light blue luminescence. It glows brightly, acting as giant torches for those to see. Of course, the core light has not dimmed completely. It acts as moonlight. Enough illumination is still provided for the weak eyes to adjust and see.
It is here that we see our first human stepping through the field. His bare feet press against the soft grass as he walks through a thicket of grass. His naked body has a partially dark complexion. On his forehead is a small red dot just above the ridge of his nose. He has short black hair and an athletic frame. He is in his twenties. His brown eyes gaze at the wonder of the forest’s lighting. In minutes, his vision will have to adjust to the night.
“Wonderous...,” the man said. “No transition to darkness ... it just happens.”
His voice carries the Aphadian accent. His facial features reminisce that of a man from India or possibly Bangladesh. He looks upon the scene more and more. In the vast distance, approximately five kilometers from him, is one of the great pylons. It is lit up like a beacon for the traveler to head to if need be. However, the man isn’t hungry. He had recently eaten and felt refreshed. His attention is on the field of enormous flowers.
“Almost ... alien-like,” the man commented as he approached one of the flowers. As he got closer to it, he could remark the size of the stems. They almost had the diameter of his arm. He flexed his fingers as he tapped the green stalk. The entire plant shifted around a little bit. Glowing pollen rained everywhere, almost like fireflies dancing in the wind.
The person stepped back and smiled. His shadowy silhouette was lit as the pollen fell to the ground. For a little while, he forgot that he was naked. He looked down to see the fine amount of dark pubic hair that lined near the shaft of his penis. He put his hand to his stomach and was reminded about his actions.
“Was this the right decision?” he asked himself. He looked up at the sky. “It all seems so real. Was it just a simulation? Am I really drugged? Or am I just getting pranked by some show?”
He flexed his hand, seeing the pollen had fully settled. The moment that it did, they stopped glowing.
“Feels real ... has to be real,” he commented. “Even shows like this would have limits on their budgets. Something would be off, and it isn’t.”
A look of mild speculation could be seen on his face. Even after eating and drinking from the nearby ravine, he had to wonder if this was somehow fake. Technology was a finicky affair. Could he be in some sort of theater dome? Was he just being recorded for someone’s amusement?
“No...,” he grumbled a little bit. “Second time you asked yourself that.” He nodded his head. “The other tourists seemed just as confused as I was ... that rat woman was right. Why would someone fake all of this? Too much effort...”
He took a deep breath and looked at the grass some more. He continued his trek, with the field becoming easier to see now. His eyes had fully adjusted. The flowers and overhead lighting were enough for him to track everything. The landscape was very flat and easy to traverse. Even if it got completely dark, he could still track with his nose and scent. The smell of lavender was strong.
“First night on this world...,” he commented. “They told me that I wouldn’t find someone for days. I still wonder if this was the best decision.”
The man sighed. His patience was strong. At nighttime, it was easier to see the things that were hovering far above him. The occasional spaceship would be flying around. Past the cloud cover were some of the metropolis lights. The gargantuan sphere allowed individuals to see everything from the inside. However, the extreme range of everything was enough that even the human eye couldn’t see it all. Regardless, it was a pretty sight. The ability to see an internal encapsulated world was unheard of.
The person continued to move. His feet were beginning to ache. Even if the ground was soft and easy to move on, a half a days walk still bore down on his body. He approached another large flower. He placed his hand onto the stem to lightly brace himself. His other hand pressed against his back and ass before looking down.
“Nothing...,” he said as he lightly winced. “Maybe I should go to the pylon ... go ahead and get teleported to somewhere else ... start my life there.”
He looked around and debated about taking a break. Maybe it was best to get some sleep. Just before he looked at the grass to kneel down, something caught his eye. In the distance was a slight incline. The rows of tall glowing flowers were present. However, past this was something else. The nighttime environment allowed many things to be easily seen. In this case, it was that of a moving light. It danced around in the distance. A slight orange glowing tail could be seen, and it was moving fast.
“Wha...,” the man reacted. His eyes lit up as he was transfixed on it.
Was his mind playing tricks on him? No. It wasn’t. The lit object was moving. It was moving so fast that it was dancing around. Almost as if it was frolicking through the field. A small layer of glowing blue pollen would twinkle from the wake of the unknown creature. Whatever it was, it was small, almost the height of his knee. It seemed to stay ahead of him. Had it noticed him?
“What is that?” He asked. “Hey! Over here!”
He called out to it. His curiosity was getting the best of him. Supposedly, nothing could harm him in this world. They were clear on the rules of New Olympia. The immortal ones were quite resilient, and they weren’t allowed to hurt mortals in return. He felt no fear and only the desire to seek it out. It was the first time he had ever seen the semblance of wildlife.
The moving tail kept heading away, but it was sporadic. It seemed to zig-zag in its movement patterns. The human had to get to it. For some reason, he felt a growing lingering desire to reach it. He started to hurry in his footsteps.
He was now in hot pursuit. For a brief moment, the glowing orange tail showed a hint of what it was connected to. The darkness and the glowing glare hid the creature’s silhouette. However, he could see orange fur with white furry back legs.
“Hey!” the man yelled out. “My name is Huzaifa.” He was jogging towards the distant creature. It continued to move in its odd pattern. He wasn’t going to give up. A minute had passed since he maintained his pursuit.
Was it toying with him? Was the creature sentient? Huzaifa was wondering if he was chasing ghosts. At times, it seemed that the thing was deliberately moving more and more, widening its pattern to make the man zig zag in his own pursuit.
“Come on...,” he replied as he began to slow down. “What am I kidding ... probably just chasing some animal on New Olympia. Ugh ... fine.”
He slowed down to a walk. For a brief moment, the thing ran underneath a tall glowing flower. The illumination was enough to reveal most of the creature. The colors were all orange and white. It had four legs and a glowing tail. The head had pointed ears and a pointed snout.
As Huzaifa walked, his brain was trying to tell him something about what he had seen before the creature ran off into the darkness. Instead, it continued to gain ground and almost vanished from his sightline. He put his hand to his forehead.
“I should sleep,” he commented. He sighed and looked back and thought about it. “It’s weird ... I remember something in my biology class back in school. Some animal ... from Earth ... a fox? I think that’s what they were called.”
He said nothing more as Huzaifa slowly approached the stem of the nearest massive flower. The animal was long gone. The glowing orange tail had vanished.
“Who are you looking for?” a woman’s voice said next to the man.
“WHA!?” Huzaifa reacted as he jumped a little bit to his right. The voice was near his left.
As he quickly turned, he could see that it was a woman. The light glow from the overhead flowers revealed much of who she was. Her body and head were reminiscent of an anthro fox. She stood on two digitigrade legs with a height of almost five feet. Her fur was orange and white. Her head had a pointed snout and pointed ears with long black flowing hair that fell to her shoulders. Her naked frame revealed breasts with black nipples that pressed out of the fur. Behind her rear end were three fox tails. With the man gazing down upon her, he stood in absolute surprise.
“Whoa ... so ... who are you?” Huzaifa asked her.
“You were chasing me,” she politely said in a faint North American accent.
“Chasing you? I saw something ... it didn’t look like you.”
Her tails shifted in position as she looked around and up at him. She extended her four-fingered, pawed hand and pressed it to his chest. She pushed him lightly as she looked at the scenery.
“Who are you looking for?” she asked again. Her voice was serene and calming.
“It was you ... I guess,” he replied.
“A human comes to my home...”
“You’re the first that I have seen since I arrived ... if ... you’re one of the people that...,”
A faint glow resonated from her hand as it continued to press against him. “I feel it ... you’re a tourist. Not a native-born New Olympian.”
“How do you know that?” he asked.
There was a hint of a smile on her muzzle. “I feel it ... it radiates from your soul.”
“Huh? I don’t understand.”
She released her grip on him and held her hand close to her chest. “My name is Keomi, daughter of Chiasa. I greet you, Huzaifa.”
Her composure seemed pure. Any sense of trepidation towards this woman faded away. He looked at her more and more as she walked. Her fingers played with the large stem of the flower while her attention was away from him. Meanwhile, the man’s eyes fell on the woman’s butt. Her tails were like enormous brushes.
“So ... you’re one of the New Olympians?” the man asked.
“Yes...,” she replied.
“I just got to this world ... like hours ago.”
“I know ... you wanted to find a new life ... away from conflict.”
He put his hands to his sides and looked away for a moment. “Yeah, I did. I was born on Aphadus ... the UWA is in a war. I don’t want to be a part of it.”
“Why?” she asked.
“Afraid, I guess. Aphadus ... no place feels safe anymore. I want to get married ... start a family ... don’t want it to be with some Itrean woman, either.”
“It’s a lot for you, though...” she turned to look at him. Her pawed hands were clasped together.
“I hear the stories ... I know them.”
“I imagine that a lot of people come by your place,” he commented.
“No...,” she looked at the landscape before looking back at him. “You are the first human to walk through here in a year.”
“That many?”
“Yes. So much forest and so few company to find.”
“It...,” he sighed and shook his head. “It’s so much to take in. A world where the gods are supposed to exist. They create some sort of utopia ... and the mythical characters of Earth’s past all live here. This isn’t some sort of prank, right?”
“You came here. You saw everything.”
“But, it can still be forged.”
Her eyes seemed to scan him closely, looking at his body. “What do your eyes tell you?”
“I see a ... fox? Walking talking fox ... I don’t know what you are.”
“I’m a Kitsune.”
“A Kitsune? What are they?”
Keomi began to walk around the man. She placed her finger on his shoulder and lightly brushed it as she slowly encircled him. For a brief moment, the top of her forehead had a red and white painting on it, almost as if the fur on her face had changed. However, it was momentarily brief, as when he looked back at her; it was back to normal.
“Do you know the legend of the Kitsune?” she asked.
“Never heard of them,” the man replied.
“My grandmother is Kuzunoha, almost one of the only Kitsune to survive hundreds of years ago. She fell in love with a human mortal ... had a family with him. My mother and uncle were born as a result.”
“Really? A human fell in love with ... somebody of your kind?”
“Does it surprise you? We are the spirit foxes ... the wanderers of Japan.”
“Japan?”
“Hmm ... Yes ... So many changes. I remember that place. So beautiful, before Earth fell.” She walked and brushed her tail to his side. The feeling was extraordinary to Huzaifa.
The man continued to study her. His curiosity was growing more and more. Even if he had only met her, it was as if she was growing more and more beautiful.
“I feel your desire...,” she remarked.
“I ... It’s ... hmm...,” he put his hand to his forehead. “If this was before the Itreans ever arrived, this would have been outright insane for me, but...”
“I know. You’re open to change. Fall in love with those that you would not normally find beautiful.” The man felt her pawed hand brush his face and jaw, causing him to relax and look at her.
“I just ... just met you.”
“Would it surprise you that I had many human husbands?”
“How old are you?”
Her foxlike eyes looked up as if she was in deep thought. “I don’t remember. It’s the curse of immortality. However, I know this...” she withdrew and showed her tail. “How many tails do I have?”
“Three. I suppose that is normal for Kitsune?”
“Soon to be four. Every one hundred years, we get a new tail till there are nine in total.”
“You can have nine? Wow.”
“Most of my children have barely reached the age of having two. My grandmother hasn’t even hit nine, but she has the most of all of us.”
“That must be a headache to groom.”
That made Keomi smile. “She complains about that, yes.” She crossed her arms and looked up at him. “So ... what do you think of New Olympia?”
“It’s a lot to take in,” the man explained. “I think I understand the need to be secret, but ... you have all this power.”
“But, you like it?”
He nodded his head. “Not much to argue about. So much space and yet so few people. It’s even less crowded here than Aphadus.”
“It’s so lonely ... I agree.”
The man noticed that Keomi was holding some resentment in her face by the way her face and eyes looked. Had she been waiting for a year for a person to show up to see her?
“The New Olympians ... I noticed that some were rats,” he commented.
“The Yuki. Who else did you meet?”
“There was some green dragon. Zarkin ... Zarkiney ... couldn’t pronounce it because he kept waving his sword around and talking about his glory in protecting the planet from harm every time I asked him to repeat his name. Otherwise, that’s it, except being told that if I want a wife or husband, I should just live in the forest and find someone. I had the choice to live in the city, but...” He looked at his naked body. “Better for me to be in the flesh and find women that might agree on the same thing as I do.”
“You are quite handsome,” she remarked. “A man from India. I recognize the third eye on your forehead. I haven’t seen that in a very long time.”
He momentarily put his hand to his forehead. “Yeah, a tradition that some people on Aphadus still do. I don’t mind keeping it. Keomi, you said that you had children before. You’re a mother?”
“Yes. Two daughters and a son.”
“What happened to the father?”
“He passed away peacefully. I’ve been alone for thirty-two years.”
Huzaifa kept a note of what she said. “Humans just pass away on this world? With all that ... magic?” He paused as he shook his head. “That’s surprising.”
“Some live much longer. Some humans choose to live forever here. However, humans sometimes wish to be mortal. Sometimes I almost wish that too.”
“Because you’re lonely?”
“Because I outlive my husbands. Because I know the stigma that the Kitsune had lived before humanity learned to embrace them.”
“Humans feared you?”
“Kitsune can be looked at as ... mysterious ... vampires.”
“Vampires? You’re a vampire?”
“Hmmm...,” she was embarrassed to answer that question. For a brief moment, Huzaifa was tempted to walk away from her, but if she was one, she didn’t appear belligerent. So he pressed forward with his question.
“You don’t seem dangerous.”
“Because I’m not. Kitsune were looked at as both great and wonderful. The Japanese, Chinese, many cultures found our kind to be great and worshipped. However, there were Kitsune that were evil. They used their powers to hurt others.”
At least she was honest. The man relaxed and kept his cool with Keomi. There was some innocent quality in how she spoke. Even her posture was that of submission, as if the very topic brought displeasure. However, he couldn’t keep his eyes off her body. Even for a fox, her nakedness was alluring. He could see the vaginal slit from her crotch. There was no semblance of pubic hair because the fur was neatly wrapped around it. She could see his eyes wander to her.
“You’re looking at me as my last husband did,” she commented.
“I’m sorry,” he replied. “Just so different ... so beautiful.”
She smiled again. “You really like me?”
“Heh...,” he put his hand to his head again. “I just met you and...” His breathing was picking up. “I feel ... let’s just say some women would find what I say to be very ... perverted.”
“In the history of the Kitsune, we would take the forms of human women. The men would throw themselves to us.”
“And ... that’s what you did?”
“At first, I did. By the time it was the 21st century, I knew that humans were very open-minded. They would know the truth before we got married.”
“And they still did?”
She nodded her head. “Such joy I felt every time to be loved.”
Huzaifa was starting to understand it more and more. The New Olympians were their own refuges, relics of Earth’s past. Just as his family came from Earth, the New Olympians were the religion and mythologies of his ancestors. However, Keomi was a person that stayed with the current time. She had adapted and apparently found her own life in New Olympia. There were no regrets. She was happy and sad at the same time.
“I feel your pain,” he replied. “I’ve had my share of relationships in the past. Didn’t get very far. It all started to change, though, when the UWA allied with the T’rintar clan. So many women, but ... I just didn’t feel that way toward them. Even the ‘human women’ started to change in their personalities as if the men were going to suddenly dry up. I just didn’t want any of that. Before that, I was fighting to get some woman and getting rejected to becoming a magnet to women.” He shrugged his shoulders. “I wanted something new. Get away from the turmoil.”
