In the shadows, alive within the mold
A secret is kept locked, locked in a pounding heart
A secret untold but read in a secret fold ... shocking dread!
The yearning soul cries out for love and truth,
Yet truth when told
Oft belies the truth so bold
Which often turns to truth despised!
Who is in this image born by loving two?
A beautiful child with smiling eyes
The center of love, the blue of the skies
She gurgles and toddles, and puddles, and cuddles
The apple of the sculptor’s eyes
Then glowing and flowing, her blossoms showing
The sculptor’s eyes o’ercome with knowing.
This image created in loving sighs.
Is now scarred by a chisel, then terrible whys
The whys, unanswered time after time
Hardens a heart beating strongly
Til empty within the crusting begins
And the soul becomes part of hard, beautiful art
Then a pedestaled nude, white, beautiful, and smooth
Yet with tenderness locked deep inside
Time passes by and hurting is buried
To surface just now and again
A statue is there with nostrils that flare
When her heart is aroused by her need
So, wonders her mind if someone will find
That her allness is worthwhile indeed
Stepping down from her pedestal
Willing to live she softens her form
And tingles through every pore
She touches her softness with discovering hands
And alive she opens her eyes
In the shadows, once hidden she feels the mist
And hears the woosh of the ocean’s din
Now walking perfected, softened, renewed
She shows her all to the shining, white moon.
Will a lover come forth to her this night
To cuddle and snuggle ... enfold her?
Will he tell her the worth of her value in gold
Her glowing and gleaming treasure
Will he warm her coolness and smile on her face
Will he vanish her fears to a trace
Will he bring forth the love and the peace she desires
In her beautiful secret place?
