I say, “Ok. But, no soliciting and wear something comfortable not sexy, and that goes for all of you. We are tourist, so dress like it and act like it.”
“Good thing you told them that, John. No telling what they would have slipped out of here wearing.”
“It sure is hot here, 11 O’clock and it is already 90°. The others have been gone for over half an hour. We need to get going so we can enjoy the casino and be back here by 4 O’clock.”
We headed to the office to catch the shuttle.Luckily, it was just pulling up, and about 8 or 10 were already waiting there. Surprisingly, no one got off; it was empty. There was room for all of us, twelve altogether. The ride down the hill was fairly quick. Upon arrival, Violet and I got cards to wear around our necks loaded with $5,000. each. Violet wanted to play the slots, so that’s where we went first after eating. While we were eating, the twins found us. Sure looked nice in their sundresses.
They were so excited about the place and couldn’t stop telling us about all the things to do. Like three restaurants and a theater, tonight will be amateur night. We wanted to hit the slots, so the four of us went there. The twins watched us but soon got bored and said they were going to see what Hannah and Samantha were doing. After I helped Violet with the slots, I went to play blackjack. The twins came back.
“We found Samantha and guess what, she’s playing poker.”
I asked, “Where is that?”
“In a special section way over that way. She’s playing at a table called 7 Card Stud.”
I was up a little and didn’t want to leave the blackjack table. I asked, “How is she doing?”
Joy said, “I don’t know how to tell if she’s winning or losing. But she has a big pile of chips.”
“Don’t hang around there; it may make her nervous.”
“She ran us off and told us not to come back.”
I played blackjack for a while and lost all my winnings. Decided to call it quits and went looking for Violet. Having found her, she was all excited. She had hit a jackpot with three sevens, and it paid $500. “I am going to start playing bigger jackpot machines now. There was a man playing the machine next to me who helped me. But he was getting bold. Once he bumped my boob accidentally on purpose I’m sure, so I left that machine.”
“It’s three O’clock, so we should round up the gang, and head to the RV.”
Judy found us.
I asked where Joy was, and she didn’t know, but she said she found Hannah at the Roulette wheel. So the three of us headed that way. There was Joy standing next to her. I said that Violet and I are going to the snack bar and then to the RV to wait for their aunt. I told the twins to leave by three forty-five and they indicated that they would go to the snack bar with us. Hannah, the twins and Violet took off for the snack bar, and I went to see about Samantha. I found her still at the seven-card stud table. She saw me, and I walked around behind her and gave her a kiss on the cheek. “We are all going to get something to eat and then go to the RV.”
“I have been sitting here for about four hours; it’s time to take a break. Then she motioned to an associate to cash her out. He went to the cashier’s cage and brought back two tubs to put her chips in. Sam thanked all the other players and said she would be back later. Then we followed him to the cashier cage. He dumped both buckets into a big hopper, and it counted all the chips. Sam handed him her card wrapped around her neck, and he put it in a slot on the machine. The digital readout lit up, $12,177.00. She was startled that it was so much. He gave her the card back and gave him some chips that she had in her hand, thanked him and we headed to the snack bar.
The twins were hopping with joy, then Joy asked, “Is that how much you won?”
“No, that’s how much is on my card. I started out with $3,000.00. So that means I won $9,177.00 plus the $50.00 tip I gave the guy who helped me cash out. He helped me three times cause I had so many chips in front of me.
We found the food court area. There were three restaurants and several fast food type counters. I went to the Subway stand, Violet went to the cafeteria-style line, and the others went for Mexican.
After we ate, we went outside to catch the shuttle back to the RV park. What’s cool is the shuttle takes you to your site on the return trip.
Upon arriving, there was a car parked in our coach. It was the twins’ aunt; she looked just like the twins’ mother. I commented on that, and she said You didn’t know we were twins? She put her arms out for a hug, and the twins went to her and gave her a big hug. She apologized to the girls for not wanting to take them. It was because of getting a divorce from her husband at the time and that she had a pair of 18-year-old twin boys living at home at the time. But they were welcome now, cause her boys had left yesterday for college. Of course, the twins said no. She invited them to stay with her for a couple of days. The girls said maybe. She had introduced herself as Janet James, but said everyone just called her JJ. I asked her what she did at the casino. She replied, a little of everything, But mostly in customer service now, saying she had worked herself up from the lower ranks in fifteen years.
Samantha said she wanted to get back to the Poker game. Hannah asked her how she got so good at Poker. Her answer was it’s math and not showing your emotions. But as Kenny Rogers sang, know when to hold ‘em and when to fold ‘em. Also in Business Math, we spent a whole month studying the odds and playing Poker with chips, but no money was involved.
Hannah asked if she could teach her? To her avail, she was told, sure we can practice anytime, but it’s not an overnight success type of thing. You see, it’s not exactly fair. I was the only one playing with personal funds, you see; the others all worked there, and they were playing with the casino’s funds. Hannah thought this was outrageous and should be stopped. Sam explained that the house players got a quarterly bonus. 25% of all the money they won came from the marks. Things are going to be tougher this evening with better players and more marks at a table. I will have to change up my game. Hannah asked her what she meant. Sam replied that she was going to be tougher, wear a nice blouse or dress that showed generous cleavage and not let them see her cards if they hadn’t paid for them. Hannah didn’t understand, so Sam explained it to her. But she was still confused.
After Aunt Janet went to work, the twins, Sam, Hannah and I looked all around the RV but could not find a deck of cards. While Violet drove down to the Casino gift shop to get cards for us. The twins went to the trailer to setup for Poker. Hannah headed to all the closets to find Samantha something sexy to wear. Nothing here to wear, like Sam described. Only halter tops and T-shirts.
Violet came back from the gift shop with three decks of cards and a yellow sundress. Also a couple of push-up bras’.
