Starting from the end of New Quartet Chapter 21

Our elevators pretty much arrived at the 22nd floor at the same time. We met outside the restaurant and Violet says. I need a hug. And I said I need one, too. We hugged there outside the door and actually enjoyed a big kiss. We went inside saw our table was back over where it was before, with the reserved sign. The only thing different, was Mary sitting there. She looked like she’d been crying, quite a bit. It had been a long day. And it was only five-thirty.

“Hi, Mary,” Violet said, “You didn’t go shopping?”

“No, I didn’t. I sent Stacy. To pick up everything I needed. She’s about the same size as me anyway. It might be her breasts are a smidgen bigger. But it doesn’t matter. I can wear her bras anyway. I’m so upset. The bitch, everything I own, everything I am, was in that house. She just had it, thrown all a way and bulldozed under.

Just then my phone rang. It was the Attorney General’s office. And he wanted to inform me that. They sent an advanced team. And hope that I could put them up for the night. “How many is there?”

“Six, five men and one woman,” He replied.

“Are they on their way now?”

“Yes,” He said. “They’re actually. In Athens, and they’re headed to the Marriott.”

“Okay, I’ll take care of it.”

“Thank you. I’ll see you in the morning, but I’ll be letting my assistant handle it. I’ll be busy on something else.”

I called the front desk. And informed them that there were six people coming to check in, from the State Attorney General’s office. To put them up. Whatever, they want. Probably another suite. With a separate room for the lady.”

“Do you have any more on this floor?”

“Yes, sir. That’s all that’s on that floor. There’s one bigger than yours. And several the same size. How much does it cost to rent the whole floor? Well for you We can discount it to. $2,000 a night But if this is going to be another sting. Like the other day. We have worked closely with the attorney general’s office in the past. And we can discount that further but I don’t know how much it’s not up to me. The manager would have to take care of it.”

“Well, okay, go ahead. I’ll rent the whole floor. Accommodate my friends and I’ll pay for everything except for room service, the bar including the mini bar in the room. When they arrive tell them, my wife and I are in the restaurant.” Mary went back to the podium to help Molly, welcome and seat the customers. Molly went back to being a waitress. At six the place was filling up, nicely. Violet approached Mary and said she could help. Mary said she was grateful for the help. Everyone wanted to be close to John Marshall. Just then the restaurant manager came in and spoke to Mary and said hi to Mrs. Marshall, telling her to wait on seating Marshall fans, because they were opening another room, just for them. The manager with Molly and Mary, went to patrons that were already seated and asked if they wanted a seat closer to the Marshall party. About a third of them wanted to be moved. The AG group came in then, Violet seated the one woman and a guy that was here Tuesday. At our table, and the four patrolman at another one close. Then Violet and Mary seated the ones that wanted to be close to me in the new room. I don’t know how they were advised that I was going to be signing books and autographs tonight, but it was probably arranged by my family, but forgot to tell me.

An older lady, about 65 came in and asked about Erika or Molly, wanted to be seated in their section, Violet laughed, saying “We are so busy that there are no sections,” on a gamble of her own, she seated her, at her and my table. I said “I’m John Marshall, the lady that seated you is my Wife Violet and these two people are guests of mine from the State Attorney General’s office.”

“I know Bill he is an old friend,” she looked at the woman sitting next to John and said, “Your Lisa, I’ll bet, I am Mrs. Elizabeth Houston, it is finally a pleasure to meet you dear, face to face. But don’t tell anyone who I am, you see I am Molly and Erika’s grandmother and I was never allowed to tell before or even now, but things are different now.” Just then Hannah, Samantha, Erika, her mom Stacy and Holly came in and before they could sit down, the manager told Erika to clock in. She rushed off.

Christine had come in early. And when she saw Mrs. Houston she said, “Hi Elizabeth, by yourself, or is your Son joining you later?”

Mrs. Houston said, with a stiff upper lip, “No he won’t be joining me ever again, you see he pasted a way Monday.”

Hannah, Sam, Holly and Stacy sat down. I introduced them to Mrs. Houston, as Molly and Erika’s mothers. And Hannah and Samantha as my co-writers. This caused quite a stir, by Holly and Stacy wanting to sit on either side of Mrs. Houston.

Molly, came to take their drink orders and when she got to Elizabeth she said that Christine had told about her son and that she was sorry for her and that her own father and Erika’s, died Monday, too. And that they never found out till today that they were sisters, and they had never ever got to meet their father. Sniffing and tearing now. She said, “Sorry,” as she turned a way and blew her nose.

Elizabeth got up and hugged her, speaking quietly in her ear. “Oh, but you did, dear. We were going to tell you both Friday night when we came in. You see, I am your Grandmother.”

Molly, hugged her quickly and screamed, “Erika! Erika! where are you?” Erika stuck her head out of the kitchen door, and Molly said “She’s our Grandmother, Elizabeth is our grandmother and her son was our dad.”

Erika looked at Elizabeth and Elizabeth nodded to her as Erika ran to her arms with Molly, by now not only the three were crying but half of the women in the place were, and several of the men too. Then the place erupted in applause.

The manager then went to a wall and turned a key, the entire wall behind me opened up and there was a long folding table with three chairs on this side. He then asked Samantha, Hannah and myself if we would please relocate. That’s when the tote bags opened and the books came out. I asked the manager to close the wall as to not disturb the folks eating. But I sure wanted to be part of the conversation going on behind me. As the wall closed. I could see Molly and Erika with a K go back to work.

The first fan approached us and asked if she could have Violet’s autograph too on the second book. I motioned to the manager and asked if Violet could come back here, with us. He left and soon came back with Violet and got another chair for her, too. That was a hundred and twenty books so far, but Violet only needed to sign forty. The manager asked if some had friends here that they would like to eat with, to come to the head of the line, then go join them or they could bring them back here. He then opened the door about three feet. The room only held thirty tables and was getting full. Finally at around seven o’clock new arrivals stopped. The door was opened fully and normal setting continued in the main room only.

By now Mrs. Houston, or Liz as they were calling her. Was in a deep conversation with Holly and Stacy, suddenly very loudly said, “What! She What, when did this happen? That bitch, that fucking bitch. She will regret, she ever met me, when I am done with her. And Mary’s stuff too. You can stay at my house. I can’t believe anyone would do, such a hideous thing, to anyone.”

“Liz please settle down, John and Violet are taking good care of us, we are staying here with them and we went shopping on their dime, tonight.”

“I can’t help it, that bitch has been blackmailing my son for twenty-four years and now I am going to expose her. She was nothing but a two bit whore in New Orleans, set him up as a rapist and murderer of another whore, he didn’t do it and further more, no one died. I have the proof, it took over twenty years to get it and I am going to expose her, to the world. And She is not his legal wife.”

Samantha asks, “You have absolute proof that she is not legally, Mrs. George Alvin Houston Jr? My Mom is the attorney for Molly and Erika. I’m sure she would like to go over your proof.”

My Attorney will be here tomorrow with it all, I believe you all know him, he’s the Attorney General of Georgia.

“That should satisfy her.”

Place is thinning out now, I returned to our table with Violet, Sam and Hannah had already returned. Eight thirty now, shift will change at nine, a lot of clean up to do yet. I turned towards the patrolmen and asked if the accommodations were satisfactory. They all gave a thumbs up. Then the assistant and secretary, they answered, that they were fine. I didn’t know who was sleeping where or with whom. If they’re happy I’m happy. I asked the assistant if we could have one of the patrolman stand guard over us till morning. He replied that it was already in the works. I asked Mrs. Houston if she had brought an over night bag, she said yes and had a room already on the sixth floor, told her that, would not do. I wanted every body on the twenty first floor and asked the assistant to send a patrolman with her and move her up. I told Molly, Erika and Christine they were staying on the twenty first with us. All that prime pussy, and I couldn’t get any of it tonight, maybe tomorrow. The Assistant AG sent two patrolmen with the girls to get their stuff for tonight and what they were going to wear to the reading.

6:30 AM

There was a knock on the door, Violet answered it and said “Good Morning, have you had breakfast, yet? The AG just looked at her and smiled.”

“No, I have not,” said the AG.

“Step right in and grab a plate then, we have plenty.” She said with a smile.

He looked at all the dome covered plates. Surrounded by four patrolmen, an assistant AG and Lisa. There was a knock on the connecting door, and in came Liz Houston, Holly, Stacy, Molly and Erika with a K. “We smelled food.” Liz said.

Two more patrolmen followed the AG in. And looked at the domed plates.

I said, “Help yourselves, or it will go to waste.” I picked up the phone, and ordered two more pots of coffee.

At 7:30 we loaded up the cars, Violet, Molly, Erika and myself in the Explorer. Liz, the AG, Lisa and two patrolmen in a patrol car, assistant AG, Mary, Holly and Stacy, in a patrol car with a patrolman. We were all going to the court house, but for different reasons.

At 7:55, We were escorted in to the office of the Probate Judge, Lucinda Houston and her attorney, Molly, Erika and Violet as their attorney and myself as her assistant. Mrs. George Alvin Houston Sr. (Elizabeth) and her attorney, State Attorney General William T. Barnes Jr.”

After all were seated, the bailiff announced that even though we were in an office the same rules applied, as if in a court room. He then rapped lightly on the door behind him.

Bailiff announced, “All rise, Probate Court is now in session, the honorable Judge William T. Barnes Sr. presiding, case 23101 the Will of George Alvin Houston Jr. Please be seated.”

The judge sat down and opened a folder. “What I am about to read is the latest Will and testament dated November 1, 2022, of George Alvin Houston Jr. Does anyone know of a newer Will? If not we shall proceed.” After reading the beginning of the Will, he got to the heirs, “Lucinda Rosa Rodriquez, AKA Lucinda Rosa Houston, who has been masquerading as my wife for twenty-four years. Was still married to Juan Manual Rodriquez, and still is, when we took our vows. Plus our marriage was never consummated after. She blackmailed me into marriage. I leave the sum of one Dollar ($1.00).” With that said Lucinda screamed out some of the worst language heard. “To my Mother I leave one hundred dollars ($100.00). The remainder of my assets, I leave to my two daughters, Molly Houston Hastings and Erika Houston Johnson. If anyone attempts to break this Will or contests it in anyway, they shall forfeit their inheritance.”

Lucinda says, “Prove our marriage was not legal, asshole?”

At this time the AG spoke, “I have proof without a doubt of her previous marriage to Juan Manual Rodriquez with a Certified copy of the marriage license of such in the State of Louisiana, also Certified copies of the sign in log, at the Louisiana State Prison every month for conjugal visits, with Juan Manual Rodriquez. Including photographs, of her standing in the line for Conjugal Visitors going back all five years, of his imprisonment.”

Judge Barnes says, “The ruling of this court will be within ten days. Court is in recess until the ruling is ready.”

The AG said, “John you can, write and send, that press release now.”

“I’ll do that as soon as the other team is done. Never once thought, all that could be done in a half hour. Let’s go see how they’re doing, shall we?”

“Alright, then I have to get back to Atlanta.”

We went to the floor where the Clerk of Courts office was, they were sitting and waiting for, the office to open at nine.

During the book signing, the Assistant Attorney General, Lisa, Holly, Stacy and Mary, went back to the suite. He instructed them to list all their belongings that were in the house and destroyed. Including today’s replacement cost, and don’t be conservative about the prices.

When Samantha and Hannah had returned to the suite. Lisa asked if we had a printer. Samantha said, “Sure thing, grab what you want printed and follow me.”

As they got up to go, two patrolmen followed them out the door, to escort them to the coach.

That was the last thing to do, before filing the suit in the morning.

Almost!

Everyone, had retired to their rooms, which left Mary, Violet and I alone in the restaurant.
