Nils has asked his friend Deirdre to help him for the upcoming Art Guild’s Big Nude III Challenge.

“And what exactly does that entail?” Deirdre wants to know.

“Simple,” says Nils. “You just have to pose against a plain white wall, and I’ll take the picture.”

“Sounds simple, I suppose,” Deirdre says. “Will I have to be naked?”

“Uh, yeah, except for shoes. White heels.”

“Sounds kind of sexist,” Deirdre comments.

“It’s for a good cause.”

“Oh? What cause is that?” Deirdre asks.

Nils’ brow furls.

“Stumped you, did I?” Deirdre says. “Okay, I’ll do it. But you have to be naked too.”

“Why?” Nils wants to know.

“Inspiration.”

“Fair enough,” Nils says.

With Nils and Deirdre naked in Nils’ studio, he sets up the camera and lights and shows Deirdre where to stand.

“So what kind of pose, exactly?” she asks.

“Kind of spread your legs. And hold your forearm and scowl.”

“Scowl?”

“Like you’re emoting bigness.”

“I don’t know,” Deirdre says. “Maybe you could show me.”

Nils stands at the wall, his legs spread. He grips his forearm.

“What about the scowl?” Deirdre asks.

Nils scowls.

“What about emoting bigness?” She kneels before him.

“What are you doing?” Nils asks.

“Checking out the bigness,” Deirdre answers. “Maybe I can help. Don’t worry. It’s for a good cause.”
