JB POV:
Our meeting with the KGB’s leader and his closest underlings continued for another couple of hours.
I found it amusing when the three of them began communicating telepathically, thinking they could do so without us knowing. It was obvious they didn’t have anything like our ‘private mode’ and everything they said, they may as well have just said out loud! On the other hand, we were also communicating telepathically, but in private mode, and we could tell they didn’t have a clue!
Monte admitted to us, and to them, that he didn’t know much about the Bargantuans, only that they had indeed crash landed in Mexico. Then, he told just our group, that he wanted to play our conversation with the Russians close to the vest for now.
All of us agreed that it seemed as though the Russians were very serious about working with us. And, if Vladimir said it once, he said it a dozen times, that they were sorry, and would never, ever, attempt to kidnap any of our family again.
Just before we decided to call it a night, Monte admitted that we’d heard every word that the three of them had discussed telepathically! When he asked if any of them had intercepted any of our communications, they were stunned that we had also been communicating telepathically, the entire time.
Vladimir was shaking his head, “Now ... do you see why we so desperately need your help? While we were thinking we had made significant progress in our psychic program, it appears we have accomplished next to nothing.”
Monte, after conferring with us, nodded back, “I know that now, comrade Vladimir. And, in the spirit of détente and to make our future communications easier and more secret, I’m going to ask our resident Catalyst, JB, to upgrade your telepathy to be equal to ours. That, of course, is going to come after you agree to our ‘Confidentiality Consequence’. Basically, that means the three of you cannot discuss anything about how your telepathy suddenly got better with anyone other than those in this room.”
After some intense looks between the three of them, Vladimir announced that they agreed and I instantly bestowed our version of telepathy on the three of them.
I explained about ‘private mode’ and also told them that our version would allow them to see through our eyes and hear through our ears. They were all stunned in disbelief until we told them to try it with us. To say that they were amazed would be a wild understatement.
Then Yuri asked, “And is it really true that we can now talk to you from here in our headquarters, to you in your headquarters?”
I nodded, “Yes, it is! And I believe you could even talk to us if we were on the moon. It’s too bad that Charlie and his wife Mary aren’t here with us, because their telepathy is so strong they’re able to communicate with each other over a distance of 350,000 light years!”
After gasping in disbelief, Monte assured them, “What JB just said is absolutely true. And, at some point in the near future, we plan on letting you in on some of our other secrets. Right now, however, I need to investigate how much my organization knows about these Bargantuans. Over the years, there have been rumors of a giant creature, nicknamed ‘Sasquatch’, who has been seen in the mountains in our state of New Mexico, as well as other forests in the Northwest of our country. Right now, I am wondering if our Sasquatch might be the two missing Bargantuans from our crashed ship?”
Vladimir’s head lurched backwards as he said, “Are you thinking that there might be two living Bargantuans here on this planet somewhere? If so, I think we need to concentrate our efforts on finding them!”
I had a sneaking feeling that one of the first places we were going to visit was going to be our dearest friend, Ibera. And, that for the next several months most of our efforts were going to be focused on this possible alien invasion.
Monte promised that he was going to thoroughly investigate everything our Greyzarian friends had figured out about the Bargantuans, just like Vladimir assured us that his Gromorik friends were already doing with the little bit they had salvaged from South Africa.
After reminding our three new ‘comrades’ that their telepathy would not work if they were in a Faraday cage, we all parted company. It was no surprise to anyone, that our first destination was to see Ibera!
Much to our surprise, Ibera had never heard of the Bargantuans or any species looking like 15’ tall gorillas. She admitted that most of her people’s exploration of our galaxy was mainly to establish a better and more thorough knowledge of the exact layout of the different solar systems.
“I’m sorry boys, but while we have indeed discovered much intelligent life on other planets, you have to understand that there are literally millions if not billions of planets capable of sustaining intelligent life. It seems that our friends, the Triloks, have been very busy populating other planets with their biologic experiments. Since they have been doing it for over 100,000 years, it’s highly possible several of their first planets could be at the point, technologically wise, to have interstellar capabilities. So, if you can give me the exact date and location of the Bargantuan’s crash in Mexico, perhaps you can do a little Spirit Walking? That may help in determining exactly what happened if there were indeed two Bargantuans that survived that crash.”
At this point, since Monte couldn’t remember the exact date, we summoned the rest of our East Coast clan since he was sure that Sheila, with her photographic memory, would know everything we needed. We also invited Greg and Eddie to join us if for no other reason than to keep us from having to explain everything to them in the future. At the same time, I summoned Glenn, Lonnie and Amy to join us for the exact same reason.
This was becoming an ‘all hands on deck’ situation and we all felt the need to keep everyone informed.
The first thing we did was zoom in on the exact location, a few hours prior to the actual crash. We all wanted to see what may have led to them losing control and crashing. The second we saw the spaceship descending toward the crash site, we backed it up to see if, perchance, someone had possibly shot something at it. According to the CIA’s documentation, NORAD had detected a UFO and dispatched five, F-4 Phantoms out of Luke Air Force Base to investigate.
Monte explained to us that at this point in time, certain special squadrons of the Air Force had been working closely with the CIA’s covert UFO division.
As we watched, we saw the Bargantuan’s spaceship had been traveling very slowly, searching for a place to land. Therefore, it was no surprise that the F4s caught up to it quickly and had indeed launched several of their Sidewinder missiles at it.
At first, it didn’t appear the missiles had much of an effect on the spaceship. However, what did happen was it possibly caused the Bargantuan pilot to lose control and descend too rapidly, therefore causing it to crash. Ibera reminded us that Earth’s gravity was much higher than many of the other planet’s gravities, thereby making a soft landing a real challenge for any species not used to it.
It was obvious that whatever planet these guys were from, must’ve had far less gravity than we do. And, that being hit with those missiles probably did cause more damage than it first appeared. At any rate, the second the Bargantuan’s craft slammed into the earth, it broke into three pieces.
We continued watching until we saw two of the Bargantuans limp out of their crashed spacecraft before disappearing into a wooded area just north of the crash site. They appeared to be carrying backpack-like bags which were huge, but in perfect proportion to the Bargantuan’s immense size.
We bookmarked the exact time, date and location for future observations.
We all knew that trying to follow them for 13 years was going to be very time-consuming, to say the least. And besides ... I’d just received a message from Linda that Annie’s water had broken and our baby seemed to be rapidly making her way toward the exit!
Annie POV:
For the last month I thought this day would never come!
I was getting so tired of waddling around like a duck and only being able to have sex in the doggie position. Oh, everyone has been extremely nice to me, especially the ladies, Linda, Jamie, Gracie and Sarah.
I have to admit that when JB suggested we come and join his family here on Earth, I was a little apprehensive at first. But all those fears went away shortly after meeting his wonderful family. They accepted me right away, and within a few days, I felt even closer to them that I had my family back on Perdition Island.
Especially Linda.
There are times when I do miss many of the people that we left behind. Particularly Naomi, Meredith, Blaine and Steve. I still wish at least the four of them had taken up Monte’s offer and joined us on our trip back to Earth. Even as the ladies, led by Linda and Jamie were putting me into Jamie’s new van to get me to the hospital, I couldn’t help but think about my little ‘sister’, Lolita. Since the two of us got pregnant on the same day, I wondered if she may have already had her babies? They say that sometimes when you’re carrying twins you don’t usually go all the way to term.
I felt bad about leaving such a mess in the kitchen, which is where I was when my water broke, but Sarah and Charlene assured me it was no problem. Anyway, Jamie was driving, with Linda sitting next to me in the seat just behind the driver. Linda had told JB to just teleport into the front passenger seat since we were already hot-footing it to the hospital.
The ladies did warn me about how much the contractions would hurt, but I was surprised it wasn’t too bad yet. Of course, no sooner had I thought that that it felt like my guts were about to bust wide open. I was hollering out in pain when a shocked JB appeared in the front seat. I must’ve been quite a sight for the poor guy since I was sweating like crazy and I knew that my hair was a matted mess.
I noticed that JB was staring between my legs.
That’s when it dawned on me that for the last few weeks I’ve taken to wearing these oversized sundresses and going commando, i.e., sans panties. Next thing I know, there was a panic-stricken look on his face! He was pointing at my suddenly aching pussy and asked Linda, “Is that what I think it is?”
Linda leaned forward and pulled back some more on my sundress and hastily asked Jamie, “How much further do we have to go?”
Jamie said we still had about five minutes, but, Linda told her that the baby wasn’t going to wait that long! She said I was already crowning and Linda flashed Eddie and told him to grab some towels and a wet washcloth and teleport to the van at once, now that Jamie had stopped in the parking lot of a mini mall.
Both JB and I were freaking out when a grinning Eddie appeared just outside the van right by the sliding door.
Eddie lifted the armrest and told me to scoot around so my head was in Linda’s lap and my butt was just barely on the seat. At that point Eddie told me to give one big push and the next thing I know he is holding this crying, still bloodied baby in his arms. He pulled out a clean, very sharp pair of scissors and handed it to JB and told him that, as the dad, he needed to cut the umbilical cord. I swear, poor JB looked like he was just asked to cut my throat.
Eddie even had to show him where to cut!
Then, like he’d done it a thousand times, he took the wet washcloth and commenced to cleaning up our still crying daughter. At this point, after wedging himself in the van and closing the door behind him, he told Jamie to keep going toward the hospital. Then, after handing the baby to Linda, Eddie produced a garbage bag, held it just under my ass and told me to give one final push, so I could expel the rest of the placenta.
I was in awe with the way Eddie handled everything. And, that’s when I noticed JB was nearly passed out in the front seat. He was completely out when we arrived at the hospital, so Jamie had to get out and run around the van to open the sliding door so the rest of us could get out. Jamie had gone to the ER and they were already out with a gurney that I got loaded onto, with the baby now in my arms and rolled into the hospital.
When they asked me if Eddie was the father, I couldn’t help but giggle, “No, Eddie is just another member of our family, I’m afraid that the father is still passed out in the front seat of the van!”
Thankfully, Linda had stayed behind to make sure JB was okay. By the time the doctor was done checking me over, and commenting that Eddie had done a spectacular job in delivering the baby, a bedraggled JB came into the room.
He was there when the nurse entered with a nice clean, freshly swaddled baby in her arms. She told us the baby was in good health and weighed in at seven pounds 13 ounces. When the nurse handed JB our daughter there were tears streaming down his face. That’s when I heard, telepathically, a cute little voice asking, “Are you my Daddy?”
JB kissed her on the forehead, “Yes, my little Angel!” Then, he gently handed her to me. The look on her face was priceless as she also asked, “Are you my Mommy?”
I hugged her to my breast and flashed to her that I was and I loved her very much. Then she asked, “Where is Sissy?”
I flashed, “She’s at home sweetheart, you’ll be able to see her tomorrow, aren’t you hungry?”
She chirped out a short cry then flashed, “Yes Mommy, I hungry!”
I quickly pulled open my hospital gown and the little devil latched onto my nipple immediately and began sucking to her little heart’s content. The nurses all seemed stunned that she took to my nipple so easily and quickly. The rest of the Clan had obviously heard everything that my daughter said and looked equally as shocked as the nurses were.
Even if it was for different reasons!
Linda flashed, “I don’t believe it, Annie. I had no idea that little Abby had been talking to your daughter for the last month or so. Her brother, CJ had done the same thing to her and we were all shocked when she immediately seemed to know what was going on.”
I looked up at Linda and said, “That little girl is going to get s great big hug and a kiss when I get home.”
Linda smiled but then surprised me, “Abby may have honed your daughter’s ability, while still in your womb. However, her psychic ability to communicate with you was not Abby’s doing. There’s something you must understand. You remember that little Athena gave you telepathy before you and JB ever got together, right?”
I nodded, then Linda continued, telepathically, “This must be kept a secret. Your baby’s abilities were inherited from you and JB. What you don’t know is, that everyone who has been given psychic abilities by a catalyst, also experiences a significant change in their DNA. That is why Lenny, Charlie’s dad, has always cautioned us not to go around giving blood samples to be used for DNA testing. You see, right now, all of us in the family have triple helix DNA. So, any offspring will automatically have that third strand. If only one parent has psychic abilities, then there’s a 50-50 chance that the offspring will also. Unless, the mother is the one with psychic abilities. Because, her eggs would already have triple helix DNA embedded in them, therefore ensuring psychic abilities in the baby. That was one of the reasons we wanted to give Laura and Mina telepathy before they got pregnant.”
I was kind of freaking out, but in a good way, “So, what you’re saying is, we’re all mutants?”
Now Linda was laughing, “I prefer to think we’re just a more advanced sub-species of Homo sapiens! In many ways, we’re closer to being Chaemarians then humans!”
My head was spinning, trying to digest what Linda just told me. She went on to say that many of the family didn’t even know about this DNA thing yet. Thinking about how my delivery went so unbelievably smoothly, I had to ask, “Does that have something to do with how I was able to deliver my baby so easily?”
“No, you remember how I told you I was giving your body a ‘tune-up’ every several weeks or so? Well, what I was really doing was constantly resetting all of your bodily functions to their maximum efficiency. It’s like I was healing you, but not to the point that you would get a happy ending.” She giggled, “or, accidentally regrowing your hymen! I hope you don’t mind, but I kind of used you and Lolita as guinea pigs! I know that you are wondering how your little sister back on Perdition Island was doing, but I assure you she’ll be just fine. That night when Lars gave us those pills? Well, one of the people I joined with was Blaine. Because of that, I was able to work on Lolita through him. Naomi and Meredith are also being given treatments periodically since they’ll be delivering before long themselves.”
Now I was giggling, while shaking my head in wonder, “Heck no I don’t mind! When you ladies were all telling me about what it was like to give birth, I was scared shirtless! It’s too bad you don’t swing this way, because I would make love to you right now!”
About that time, one of the nurses asked, “Have you picked out a name for your baby yet?”
I looked at JB, who shrugged his shoulders. I asked if he wanted to possibly name the baby after his mother, but he looked at me with wild eyes, shaking his head furiously, “Um, oh, I don’t think so sweetie! Her name is Beulah!”
That made me laugh, “I agree, I would hate to have our daughter hate us both for the rest of her life! I have an idea. There are two women who I feel very close to right now and I would like to name our daughter after them if that’s okay?”
“Sounds like a plan, and let me guess, Naomi is one, correct?”
I smiled, content that my man knew me as well as he did. So I added, “you got it, so I was thinking of Naomi Lynn, Lynn, for Linda. I would’ve made it just Naomi Linda, but, having two Linda’s around could get confusing, don’t you think?”
While JB was chuckling and nodding his head, Linda came and gave me a hug and whispered in my ear, “I feel honored, Annie, thank you!”
So, our beautiful baby daughter’s name is Naomi Lynn Hornsby/Hunt. Her birth certificate, however, will just say Naomi Lynn Hornsby, since when Monte gave many of us new identities, he just made it look like JB and I were already married. Wanda’s name on her ID is Wanda Hornsby, JB’s supposed cousin.
I couldn’t help but wonder if our baby daughter might already know her name?
Max POV:
Once we were sure JB and Annie’s little ‘bundle of joy’ was safe and healthy, Monte wanted us to head to Nevada, ASAP.
Our group consisted of me, Monte, JB, Lonnie, Glenn and Amy. Monte led us as we teleported to a hotel room attached to a small Indian casino about 50 miles north of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Monte explained that this room was always kept empty just for this purpose. The CIA, and US Air Force kept several rooms in reserve at all times for different visitors. The casino wasn’t very big, but did have a nice bar and dining room. Which, is where we were as we waited for our ride to our destination. A large, blue Chevy step Van showed up that looked very similar to the step Van that Linda has. A big guy, dressed in an Air Force uniform with six stripes on his sleeve greeted Monte with a chuckle, “I see you brought a whole crew of visitors with you, Director Monte?”
Monte chuckled, “You’re correct, Master Sergeant Murphy. We’re going to area S-42 today. Are you aware of the people that need to be involved?”
The Sergeant nodded, “Yes sir, and they should already be on site as we speak. Now, if I could just check everyone’s identification, we’ll get this show on the road!”
That’s when the pleasantries temporarily came to an end. This guy was taking his job very seriously, thoroughly inspecting our documentation, even to the point of making sure we looked like our pictures. When he came to Amy he did a double take after checking her credentials. Looking at her incredulously, he asked, “Shouldn’t you still be in high school, kiddo?”
Monte slapped his shoulder, “Believe it or not, Sarge, this cute little lady has three PhD’s from MIT! She graduated high school when she was 12!”
That caused the Sergeant to snap to attention after seemingly totally revising his estimation about our sweet Amy.
He said, apologetically, “No offense, ma’am. I probably should have guessed, that would be about the only way you would be associated with these butt-ugly dudes!”
Amy giggled, “No problem Sergeant Murphy, I get that a lot! And, you might want to be careful about who you call ugly. I’ve seen what happens when somebody pisses them off, and it’s not pretty!”
Murphy chuckled, “Then I’ll have to warn Verna to cool her jets! She’s a mouthy, stuck-up old broad and I have a feeling she’s going to be intimidated by you, little Darlin’. Especially if you really do know your stuff.”
I answered, “Oh, Sarge, this ‘Verna’ will find out really fast that our Amy ain’t exactly a wallflower anymore! Especially now that she knows we all have her back!
Amy’s grin caused all of us to break out laughing as Sergeant Murphy got us seated in the van.
We drove about 10 miles north before turning left on a gravel road that seemed to lead out into the middle of the desert. A couple miles down the road we came to a gate that must’ve been remotely operated as it opened just as we got there. We were headed to what looked like a lone hangar by an abandoned airfield.
There were a few antique military-style aircraft parked around, but other than that, nothing but the hangar.
As we drove around to the far side of the hangar, the door slid open and we drove inside. The van stopped not far from one wall. As we disembarked the Sergeant led us toward what looked like an old storage locker. The Sergeant put a key in the lock and opened it, revealing a modern elevator. He pressed several buttons, which, while looking like different floors, was obviously a combination of some kind. We soon found ourselves going down what felt like at least four stories before coming to a stop. When the door opened, I gasped at the sheer size of the area down here.
We were in a complex that appeared to be even larger than the area of the runways above us. We walked down a long hallway before coming to another steel door. Again, the Sergeant pushed some buttons on a keypad and that door swung inward, revealing a huge area with a spaceship in the center of it.
It was surrounded by several scaffolds and it appeared to be sitting on a steel frame, with all three pieces now having been cobbled together. Waiting for us, at the bottom of the ladder up to what appeared to be an open door, were three people, two with smiles on their faces and one with a bemused frown.
