“And, um,. That’s, uh, what happened,” Kendra’s voice petered out as her gaze drifted around the crowded cafÈ.
With her pulse pounding and thighs crushed together, Gina could only nod while following Kendra’s trembling blood-red nails. Back and forth, they glided along the shiny circle at her throat. It’d been over a week, and yet nothing from Aiden. She’d made her plan. Every day since he’d both he and Kendra had returned, she’d considered calling him.
Except he was exhausted. Each pulse from him was wavy. And, as she scanned her friend, still shaking and with glossy unfocused eyes, Gina could only sigh. Kendra was replaying the memories of the mountain resort. As if the weekend of almost continuous sensations hadn’t been enough, now she’d heard the details. Well, as much as Kendra chose to share.
“And that woman “ Gina started, but Kendra’s eyes shot to her.
“Piper. Jesus. She’s so fucking hot, Gina. You should’ve seen her. Wow.” As Kendra spoke, Gina’s thighs were so tight they shook; she’d sensed everything. “ Her husband, Ellie Elliott, called as we were driving home. Wanted to thank us.” Kendra laughed. “ Can you believe that? He wanted to thank us, Gina. Not just Aiden.”
“So what now, Kendra?”
“Now?” After leaning to sip her martini, she rolled her full red lips and flashed Gina a taut grin. “ Now. Like you. I wait for his call. Or rather, wait for him to call Tim and ask permission to take me away.”
“And, uh, how’s Tim doing?”
“Oh, God, Gina. Oh, my fucking God. He’s on cloud nine. I mean it. Before. When Aiden was scared, Tim was beside himself. But now. Jesus, Aiden stopped by to pick him up. Two days after we returned, Aiden took him to dinner. Gina. Seeing the two of them together.” Kendra took a long gulp of wine before continuing. “ I swear, at home, Tim’s the perfect husband. At work, he’s a beast. But there, next to Aiden.”
Kendra exhaled and looked around before leaning closer. “ As soon as Tim saw him, Gina. Like they were puzzle pieces, Tim slotted, melted into that man. They’re meant for each other. My husband grinning up at him like a kid on Christmas morning and Aiden beaming down at him. You felt it, right? You know? I realize. If Tim wasn’t married to me, he’d be shacked up with Aiden full time.”
Gina scanned the area, hoping nobody could hear the wet squelching with each forceful clamping of her shaking thighs. Oh, she’d felt it. Wave after wave of love from Aiden. Every single one.
“And Gina. That’s the best part. I know weird, huh? But seeing them together.” A grin appeared on Kendra’s face as her dark eyes sparkled. “ Watching Tim flounce around the house waiting for him. Or smiling all damned day now. Now that things are good between us. No matter how stressful his life is, having Aiden in it makes things better for Tim. And I still love the man. I really do. It’s wonderful to see him this joyful.”
Fingers shaking on her glass, Kendra paused and swallowed, her grin sliding away. As she met Gina’s eyes, she added in a wavering, low voice. “ And I love Aiden too. I’m sorry, Gina. I didn’t. I mean, I’d no idea. I didn’t know.”
“Well, I did,” Gina replied before sighing and taking a lengthy drink. “ And I don’t mind. Really, Kendra. It’s no surprise.” Gina’s eyes went to the glinting jewels in Kendra’s choker. “ What you did. With that woman. And her husband. Dominating him like that. I couldn’t. I mean, I could’ve tried, but. But that’s all you. Working with Aiden like that.”
“He’s he’s an amazing lover. So “
“ caring.” Gina raised her eyebrows and grinned. “ Remember, that’s what I told you?”
Kendra only nodded before releasing a lengthy sigh and stretching. At the swift grimace on Kendra’s face as the sore muscles in her body spasmed, every nerve in Gina surged. A pang of jealousy. Transitory. But justified. She yearned for that aching, residual pain. So deep inside her.
“He wants you, Gina.” Kendra’s voice was an airy whisper as she leaned closer. “ Aiden craves you. Constantly. I know that is something I’ll never have with him. Not as strong, anyway.”
As her pulse skyrocketed, heat raced along Gina’s cheeks. Gina’s shaking fingers tried to clasp her glass. In a bright, multi-hued flash, Aiden’s love bombarded her, sending her hands shooting across to clamp the edge of the table. Trees, tables, diners, servers, Kendra, and the entire universe wavered.
“Oh,” slithered from Gina’s quivering lips as she struggled to focus on her friend’s wide-eyed face.
“God. Jesus, Gina. Are you alright?” Kendra’s shaky voice lowered as she spoke. “ I I, um, felt that. Fuck. He’s. Aiden needs you.”
“I I know. I need. I want him, too.”
“Why don’t you “ Kendra’s question died in a sigh as she nodded. “ Oh, yeh. He’s got “
“ rules,” Gina finished before letting a nervous giggle slide from her, followed by a low whisper while scanning the entrance. Aiden wasn’t there. “ But it’s been more than a week, Kendra. And I need to break them. Again.”
Once Kendra left and Gina had returned to the office, she stared at her phone. The room blurred. Just watching the way Kendra had marched from the cafÈ. Her spine straight. With her shimmering black hair bouncing along her toned shoulders, she smiled at anyone who noticed her choker glinting in the sun. Or anyone who scanned her tight little frame in that magenta wrap dress. She was centered. For the first time in years.
When it jangled, Gina flicked to the phone. Air hissed in through her teeth.
Aiden.
Because, of course, he’d known. Everything. Before she’d realized it, her fingers tapped the phone.
“I want you,” Aiden whispered.
As a whimper slid from her trembling lips, her hand tore the phone away. With another growling moan, Gina slammed her thighs together. Though the door was closed, she flashed her gaze to it as the wet slap echoed across her office. As her mind reeled, her mouth opened. Then sealed. Opened. Time after time, she tried to form words, but the ceaseless pulses speeding through every artery had her lips shaking too much.
On the other end, there was nothing but Aiden’s measured breathing. No chuckle. Another pulsation engulfed her. It was warm. She snuggled in it, pulling an arm tight over her heaving chest. Caring.
“What have you planned?” he added, his voice soft.
At last, Gina smacked her lips and, gripping the phone tight, returned it to her shaking mouth.
“Um, this weekend, master. If you can make it? Uh.” Gina’s gaze flashed through the window at the lowering sun, trying to focus before adding. “ It’s Paul’s. Paul’s fishing cabin. It’s, uh, remote like you. Like you ordered. We could. If you want We could meet there. I can. I’ll leave work early on Friday. We could, um, be home by Sunday. Late, master? If you want.”
“Oh,” as soon as his reply began, Gina buckled to the desk as the wave of pure passion he released battered her. “ Oh, Gina. My perfect, insolent slut. I want. Oh, God, do I ever want you my love. For as long. As long as “ his voice disintegrated into the hungriest groan Gina had heard from him.
As she moaned, clawing at the desktop, Gina rolled her head to gaze at the sun, dipping further, darkening the room the spinning, wavering room. With hair floating upwards with every rapid puff of breath, she bathed in wave after wave as they melded, igniting those building deep within her.
“Send me the address, my love.”
“Ye yes, master.” Gina swallowed and crushed the phone before adding. “ I I’ve been insolent again, master. I. I wanted. Um, I wanted to call you.”
At that, Aiden chuckled. “ But you didn’t, so that doesn’t really count, does it?”
“Please. Please, master.” Her voice a strained whisper, Gina’s body squirmed against the hard desk.
As time slowed, there was only silence and her rapid, heavy breathing before Aiden cleared his throat.
“Can you feel it?” His voice was ice. “ The snapping leather across your beautiful arching tits?”
At his words, pain sliced into her skin, driving a whimper from Gina’s trembling lips.
“On your slick, throbbing clit?” Thick arctic ice.
When she groaned, the tiny bite of agony flicking her pleasure, she clamped her teeth into her forearm and stared at the sunset. The world blurred as she nodded at the phone.
“Okay. I will punish you. Again.”
“Thank you “
Before she could finish, her master cut the call.
“God, where is he?” Gina rubbed her hands along her shaking thighs for the millionth time before whipping around the large semi-circular brown leather couch, straightening rough black and red pillows and fluffing the softer blue throw blankets. Also, for the millionth time.
Her mind reeling and body aching with every mile of winding road, she’d rushed from work. It had been a long drive. He’d wanted remote and Pauls’ cabin was the definition of remote. However, handed down from Paul’s late dad, it was plush for a cabin.
As she slowed to gaze through the rear windows, her pulse raced. The crowning glory of the place was already disappearing into the darkness. Between the supports of the broad, flat roof, the lake’s waters still glimmered in the fading light. The wide-planked deck held a large round table, six chairs, two rockers, and a four-seater hot tub.
Beyond the porch, winking lights flanked a wooden walkway. The raised pathway led to taller fixtures illuminating a small dock jutting into the lake.
With a curt sigh, Gina turned away.
What seemed like a hundred years ago, she’d been there with Paul. Half-drunk, they’d skinny-dipped in the lake’s chilly waters. After a longer sigh, she smirked at her reflection in the window. And that was the only “ sexy” thing they’d done together. No sooner had his buddies appeared than they stole Paul away with them.
Gina giggled under her breath.
After the chugging white fishing boat had disappeared from sight, leaving her alone, she’d lain out under the sun.
“Buck naked,” she murmured as she turned away with a broader smile.
Paul had never mentioned hearing any of her cries, but she’d fingered herself hard. And that was long before.
“Where are you, master?” Gina cried to the dark-wooden rafters as her fists pounded her thighs. “ God, is this what he felt like? Waiting for me? At his lake house. Fuck!”
Once she’d checked, for the millionth time, a bubbling pot of chili in the small but utilitarian kitchen, she passed before the roaring fireplace, its flames reflecting on the wall-mounted wide-screen TV. As its warmth heated Gina’s skin, only highlighting the need for his deeper heat, she moved to the front window. After pressing her red-cheeked face against the chilled glass, she squinted into the darkness. With a roar, the first heavy splats thudded into the window and pounded in a great wave across the gravel yard.
