As Aiden sat on a white concrete bench beneath a broad tree in the middle of the college’s central plaza, a sudden gust of humid air rustled the leaves overhead. The bright midday sun threw sharp shadows of other trees over students and faculty as they moved between towering gray-white concrete and glass buildings. Another sigh slipped from him as the latest pulse from Mrs. Davis washed over him.
Since the night at her home, after Jimmy’s party, she’d—mellowed. Not her desire. Oh, no. That was as raw as ever and ... Aiden gulped as he shifted on the bench, releasing the aching flesh to swell under his shorts. When he glanced at Dan, his friend sipped a soda while tracking a pair of laughing coeds in skintight blue jeans and matching pink crop-tops gliding past them. Still smelling of the snack bar’s gut-busting cheeseburgers, their crumpled lunch wrappers were balled in Dan’s other fist.
No, even now, as she sat at her desk, Aiden detected Mrs. Davis squeezing her shaking thighs and her accelerating heart rate. She dare not risk a quick press. At her sudden start, Aiden smiled. Since that night, they’d become closer. More attuned. More images of her appeared. And, as his heart sped, his thoughts drifted before tightening on her. What he’d love to do to her right then. Right there, out in the plaza. In her leather mask. Strung from a tree. Just him this time. For hours.
As another gust ruffled the passing co-eds’ crop-tops, hinting at what little they covered, Aiden swallowed a chuckle. At his thought, Mrs. Davis, stifling a whimper, had crushed her legs together. Oh, how she wanted him to do that to her. Her next image brought his teeth deep into his lower lip; yes, she’d be more than willing to do that. Just for him.
“You remember when we were sitting in the cafeteria last week?”
At Dan’s sudden voice, Aiden jolted. With a quick gulp as Mrs. Davis’ sleek frame, naked and dripping with gleaming sweat, slid into the murky distance, he left his lover to focus on her stepson.
“No.” Aiden glanced at his friend.
“Uh. Well, Kate met with us.” Dan’s pale-gray eyes remained distant and unfocused, scanning nothing as he spoke. “And she started babbling about her test grades.”
“Still no.” Aiden shrugged. “But I believe you.”
“Well ... Look, man.” As Dan drifted to Aiden, a tremor rippled through his friend’s hand, shaking the can. “She, uh ... She asked me something and I, um—”
“What, dude?” Just as Aiden cut him off, a cute little redhead strolled into view. The way she moved. Graceful. Assured. As he knitted his eyebrows, watching her, Aiden strained to remember. After a curse under his breath, he returned to Dan, whose mouth was frozen open, and added in a softer tone. “Look, I’m glad you guys are back to normal.”
After Jimmy’s party, Aiden had noticed Dan and Kate had cooled. Drifted. While his friend had said nothing, he’d been more nervous than excited whenever Kate texted.
Yeh, drifted.
“She...” As his face reddened, Dan ignored Aiden’s comment. “I mean ... You know she, uh, ... Well, we’ve got a pretty ... I mean ... Um, she likes to, uh ... You know ... With me.”
The dancer! What was her name? Kira! Yeh, that’s who the red-haired coed resembled. Aiden scratched his head, looking off in the direction she’d disappeared. His brows knitted—nothing. nothing at all from either dancer. The ring—also nothing. No help. Its flames dimmed to a low yellow guttering glow. After a deep sigh, he returned to Dan.
“Uh, what?” Aiden said, before grinning at his crimson-cheeked friend. “Okay, so what? It’s no secret, you two fuck a lot. That’s good, right?”
As the red on his skin deepened, Dan’s lower jaw trembled. His eyes flicked around before returning to Aiden. His fingers squeaked on the can, crushing it as his knuckles whitened.
“What’s—” Aiden’s eyebrows raised as he cocked his head.
“She wants to...” Dan cut him off, then lost his words before sighing and blurting. “Kate would like to have ... Well, somebody else, Aiden.”
As Aiden stared into his friend’s wide eyes, his heart sank. She’d been Dan’s girlfriend forever. But the hungry way she’d scanned the room at Jimmy’s. Mrs. Davis hadn’t been the only woman in that room—fucking. Next had been Jimmy’s girl, Rene. After she and several other moaning girls spread out, or were spread out, things had gone from gang-bang to full-bore orgy in minutes. Even as she’d ground into Aiden, Kate’s entire body had vibrated with coiled energy. So, yeh, she’d craved more. More than Dan.
“Aw, man.” Aiden shook his head. But Aiden’s brows furled; Dan had said he and Kate had left together. So, she hadn’t—participated—at Jimmy’s. “I’m sorry. I thought you two would stay together forever. Shit, dude. Sorry, man.”
Silent, Dan stared at Aiden, only swallowing until letting out a slow breath. One more soggy gust blew past, and Aiden peered at the darkening clouds on the horizon.
“No. She hasn’t left me, Aiden.” Dan’s voice was so low, Aiden was forced to lean closer to hear. His friend glanced around again before gulping and adding in an even lower voice. “She wants another guy to join us.”
With a sharp inhale, Aiden swayed backward to lean against the bench’s hard, cooling concrete. He stared at the roiling dark clouds. Shit! Had what he’d done for Mrs. Davis inspired Kate? She’d been tugging on the leash. Unintended consequences. But still, that’d been a bit more extreme than a threesome. At the crackle as the can crunched in Dan’s fingers, Aiden swallowed and looked at him.
“Woah! That’s ... That’s, uh, kinky, Dan.” Aiden forced a tight grin. At least Dan would be there. “How do you feel about that, dude? I mean where? How? I mean, who’s the guy? Dude, that’s ... Well, good luck. I mean it, Dan. If that works for you guys, I guess.”
For long seconds, Dan stared at him, his head cocked and tongue flicking around his lips. His mouth opened, then shut. Then opened once more while leaning towards Aiden, before closing again. The can crinkled louder.
“Aiden. You don’t get it, man. She wants you to join us!” Dan blurted out. As Aiden sucked in air, his heart hammering and heat flaring along his neck and cheeks, Dan continued in a lower voice. “Kate said when she saw you with me at the cafeteria. It, uh ... It came to her she wanted to try something different. And, um ... Well, she picked you to be the one.”
Heart speeding quicker, Aiden remained silent. As he swallowed a curse, a chill clawed its way through his bones. Kate was lying. At Jimmy’s, she’d stood next to him when Dan moved toward the couch, unzipping as he walked. But as soon as he’d crawled behind his stepmom, she’d glanced at Mrs. Davis’ leash in Aiden’s hand. Then stared up at him with her glittering jade pools and shifted to press into him as her hand slid down the leather. In a short blood-red minidress, her tight little butt crushed and ground against him as she watched her grinning boyfriend.
And, as the ring chortled, Aiden had let Kate pull the leash as her boyfriend fucked his stepmom.
Though he’d kept his hands away, with each tug on the leather strap, Kate had become more—aggressive. While rolling her bronze hair under his chin and dragging her shaking nails along his legs, she’d glanced up at him with her jade green eyes between lingering scans of the ever more active room. No longer chuckling, how the ring had flared from its corner. So hungry. They both were. Kate and the ring.
Even as he’d been careful to keep his hands from her bare skin and keep the ring—pinned, Aiden could’ve fucked her. And the way her eyes gleamed up at him: she knew it. With every strengthening pulse of flames, the ring demanded that. With every deepening claw of her fingers, Kate wanted that. Him.
“She says, since we’re friends...” With a jerk, Aiden returned to the bench at Dan’s voice. His friend’s eyes, glistening, were laser-locked on him. “It’d be more intimate than if she just found a strange dude.”
As Aiden’s mind whirled—the forceful press of Kate’s tight frame and the alluring scent of her elegant French perfume sent shivers along his spine—and cock. All he could do was force air in and out of his lungs as Dan licked his lips.
“And...” Dan’s voice was low once again. “Well, I agree, Aiden. If this is something she wants to try, at least it’s with you, bruh.”
Aiden shook his head. No. He had Mrs. Davis. And both of the Owens. When the ring’s flames flared upward, licking the iron-gray walls of its—world, Aiden clenched his teeth while swatting it back into its corner. Even then, it continued to burn brighter. Adding his best friend’s girlfriend, even only once, seemed like a terrible idea.
Because, as the ring murmured, then laughed, it wouldn’t be just one time.
“Oh, man. I mean, Kate’s pretty and all.” Though his heart sped, Aiden gulped and placed his hand on his friend’s shoulder. “But she’s been ... I mean, you guys’ve been together since fucking forever.”
“That was her point.” Dan nodded and gazed around for a while before returning his gaze to Aiden. “She’s been with nobody but me.”
Aiden raised his eyebrows. The way she’d pushed into him. The way her eyes had glinted as she’d watched Rene riding one guy with another kneeling behind her and a third rocking before her face. No, Kate hadn’t only been aroused, she’d seemed—calm. Not at all scared, just hungry. Ravenous. Aiden gulped; had his own arousal at watching Mrs. Davis, sharpened by the ring, leaked into her? Could that happen? Until Dan returned to take Kate from the room, though her eyes roamed, her tight little frame had remained glued to Aiden. Only Aiden.
“No? Really?” Dan added as another balmy gust drove a shock of dirty blonde hair across his face.
Somebody like her—with only Dan? The ring laughed. No, fuck the ring! No, no, no.
“No, Dan. No!” As Aiden shook his head, he readied to stand, but Dan’s hand shot out to clamp his forearm.
With his eyes gleaming, Dan’s grip was iron. Flesh on flesh! Aiden tamped the ring down—hard. Even as his friend’s wide eyes fluttered and his lips parted, the ring’s smothered tendrils slipped away. Until at last, after what seemed like hours, but had been barely milliseconds, Aiden let a sigh slide free. Close. too damned close.
Even as the ring cackled from its orange-flickering corner, Dan’s face flushed once more when Aiden removed his friend’s hand and stood. Just as he took a step, the crumpled can thudded to the ground. When he turned, Dan’s shaking fingers clasped at empty air.
“Please, Aiden.” Eyes glistening, Dan’s voice rose. “I know it’s weird. I know ... But I want to see her happy. I really do. And at least it’s you and not some rando from one of those sites.”
“Why isn’t she here asking?” Aiden asked, while shifting from foot to foot. Fight or flight.
“She wanted to make sure I knew what you said.” Dan swallowed before adding. “And Kate didn’t wanna pressure you. Or me. At all. Her words, man. I swear.”
At the distant rumble of thunder, Aiden gritted his teeth and drifted to the oncoming clouds. The wind, heavy with moisture, picked up, and the plaza, now being swallowed by spreading shadows, was emptying. It wasn’t just the brief surge of power when Dan had gripped him that thrust the hope—and arousal—from his best friend into Aiden.
He couldn’t turn his back on Dan. Better Aiden than some random guy.
After all, it’d be one time, and they’d all return to normal.
Bullshit.
The ring laughed. Aiden swallowed; there was more to Kate. Hidden deep. His heart stuttered; there must’ve been some connection at Jimmy’s. Perhaps. Or it was simply the way she’d reacted. Just as a bolt of lightning traversed the blackening clouds, all the air hissed from his lungs. Aiden turned to Dan—his best friend. Stepson of his lover. Boyfriend of his...
“Fine.” Aiden nodded. “For you. Well, and for her.”
“Thanks. Uh, I mean it.” Though his hands trembled, a smile slid onto Dan’s face. “She’ll be so happy.”
