‘When Hugh met Nicola and became part of the family, we told him to call us mum and dad.’ she said. ‘Then when Ian met Christine, he became part of the family too, so we told him to do the same. We don’t have any more daughters for you to marry.’ she said smiling.
‘But as an adopted member of the family, if you would like to, we would both love you to think of us as your mum and dad too.’ Aaron sat there looking absolutely stunned. He got up and went over to her. As she stood up, she pulled him to her and gave him a long hug.
There was absolute silence in the room, and everyone heard Aaron whisper ‘Mum.’ The word was charged with emotion and everyone in the room suddenly decided they might have something in their eye and gave it a rub.
‘Welcome to the family, son,’ she said giving him a kiss on his cheek. Aaron didn’t want to move, but he made himself step back. Then his new dad took him into his arms and hugged him too. ‘Thank you, dad.’ Aaron told him. Then he had to go down the line.
Christine came first, ‘Welcome my brother.’ she told him. Then Nicola did the same followed by Hugh and Ian. Aaron’s heart was bursting with happiness. He looked round the room at his new family. ‘Thank you, everyone.’ he said.
‘Ever since I met Ian, I have had reason to say many times, ‘I’ve never been so happy,’ each time he’s done something to improve my life for me. But tonight beats everything, and I can’t see anything ever topping it. I’ve just used two words I’ve missed so much and never expected to use again. Thank you, mum and dad.’
As everyone seemed to be having trouble with their eyes again, Ian and Aaron stood up to leave. They went around saying goodbye to everyone. Aaron left his mum and dad until last. They both hugged him and gave him a kiss on his cheek. ‘Good night, son.’ they both told him. He replied, ‘Good night dad, goodnight mum,’ as he returned their kisses. Then he floated out of the room.
As he and Ian walked back to the flat, Aaron said, ‘That was such a wonderful thing to happen, I’ll never be able to thank you enough.’ ‘I had nothing to do with it,’ Ian assured him, ‘It was entirely mum and dad’s idea.’ ‘Maybe,’ Aaron said, ‘But without you, I wouldn’t have ever met them or even been there.’
Back at the flat, it was way past their usual bedtime. After a trip to the bathroom each, they went into Ian’s bedroom together. They stripped off naked, had a hug which made them both go hard immediately, and got into bed. Whatever they had planned to do didn’t happen. Once under the covers in each other’s arms they fell asleep immediately.
TUESDAY – LEWIS & SEB
Just after half four, Seb was on his way home from school when his phone rang. It was Lewis who asked if it was convenient for him to speak. ‘I’m by the park,’ Seb told him, ‘Just bear with me a moment and I’ll go in and sit down.’
As soon as he told Lewis that he was settled, he asked how his mum had been when she heard about Barney. ‘When I got home from school the next night, I told her what you’d suggested, but with a slight variation.’ Seb said.
‘I told her he hadn’t turned up the night before, but I wasn’t surprised because he hadn’t turned up the previous week either. Before she could say anything, I told her that I hadn’t said anything earlier, because I knew she would only worry, and I was perfectly fine on my own.’
‘But I explained about seeing the police take him away in handcuffs the previous evening and thought I’d better tell her. Then when it was in the local paper and it just said he’d been caught sexually abusing a minor. It didn’t mention boy or girl.’
‘How did your mum react to that?’ Lewis asked. ‘She was all upset at having left such a monster to look after me, but it didn’t seem to even cross her mind that he might have attacked me. Anyway, she decided that as I’d looked after myself for two nights, I was safe to be left alone in future. But she would ring at ten o’clock to say goodnight, just to be sure.’
‘You’re ok with that though, aren’t you?’ Lewis asked. ‘Yes, it’s brilliant.’ Seb told him, ‘If only she’d done that in the first place.’ ‘Let’s hope she never finds out,’ Lewis told him, ‘That thought would destroy her. Anyway, the reason I’m ringing, is to tell you that Barney was up in front of the Judge at the Crown Court this morning.’
‘It was all over in ten minutes, The Judge told him he had seen all the evidence, and what he had done to a minor was despicable beyond belief. You’re a danger to the younger population,’ he told him. ‘Then he sentenced him to five years in prison.’
‘If it wasn’t your first offence, I would have given you ten years,’ the Judge told him, ‘So beware if you ever appear here again.’ Lewis explained about how the remission system worked. ‘I’ve notified the local housing department to speed things up.’ Lewis told him.
‘They will pack up everything of Barneys in the flat and put it in store for him. Then you will get a new neighbour. I’ll see you within the next few months for your other lesson. How’s the training going?’ ‘It was very hard at the start,’ Seb told him, ‘I’m not sure I could have stuck it out without Edward for support.’
‘Gregg seems pleased with our progress so far, and now we don’t ache quite as much afterwards. We both feel a lot fitter and more confident too. Edward and I have been for several long walks together and have become best friends, which is lovely.’
‘You were right, he was so pleased the first time I asked him to join me. I’m still on hormone treatment from the doctor, but my cock has definitely grown. Actually, I seem to be growing all over as well. I told Edward about my treatment, and he was really pleased for me.’
‘I let him see it the other day, and he says it’s at least twice the size that it was. Then after he had had a good look at it and felt it, he said I should do the same to him. So, I had a good feel of him. One thing led to another, and we ended up firing each other.’
‘Edward said it was a fantastic experience, and it’s made us feel even closer. We have also worked out a plan, so that we are nearly always together at break times and that seems to have reduced the number of attacks on us, although they still happen occasionally.’
‘We have been advised by Gregg to continue to suffer any attacks that do happen, until he tells us we are ready to deal with it once and for all. When that happens, he said he’ll help us decide what we should do so it succeeds.’
Seb asked him how university was going and said how pleased he was to hear he was enjoying it. ‘I’m looking forward to seeing you soon.’ He said as they hung up.
TUESDAY - ALVIN & TRAVINA
When Alvin got home after dropping Ian and Aaron off, Travina had their dinner ready. They had settled into a routine of having a main course and a small desert, unless they were eating out, or it was a special occasion.
‘For no particular reason, I have decided that tonight is a special occasion,’ she announced as he arrived home. ‘So, it’s three courses with wine as a treat tonight.’ Alvin liked the idea and after a long welcoming hug and kiss, he set the table as Travina finished off in the kitchen.
They sat down to a starter of several small pieces of warm cooked fish which included smoked mackerel, smoked salmon and prawns, all with a white wine and cream sauce over it. A glass of white wine accompanied it.
They chatted happily about their wedding a week this Saturday. Alvin still hadn’t told her where they were going for their honeymoon. Then Alvin cleared the dishes, whilst Travina served up their main course. This was a grilled fillet steak in a red wine sauce, accompanied by chips and fried onions. Alvin wasn’t fussed about vegetables.
They had a glass of red wine with that. Travina said that the man in the off licence had picked it out for her, it was a Chilean Malbec and tasted lovely. When they had finished, Alvin cleared the dishes away, then they sat chatting for a while.
