Chapter 5: My Uncle Was Arrested

When Morris returned, Lewis was up the ladder removing his concealed camera. Lewis packed everything up into his rucksack and then he and Morris had a hug. ‘Thank you, this has been a week of amazing experiences.’ Morris told him, ‘But I wouldn’t have missed it for the world.’
They went out and as Morris locked up, Lewis went round and collected his bike. ‘I’ll see you here in the morning.’ Lewis said. As he cycled off Morris waved him off, then stood watching him go. ‘Thank you, Mike.’ he said quietly to himself.
WEDNESDAY - LEWIS - WAREHOUSE
The next morning Lewis arrived on his bike and locked it up in the same place. Going in he spotted Morris and went over to him. ‘What can I tell the secretary?’ he asked. ‘After we’ve sorted the lads out, you can introduce me to her, and I’ll tell her myself.’ Lewis replied.
Morris felt so relieved yet again. As they walked over towards room four, Lewis spotted Kevin with a couple of the other boys. Morris called out, ‘Will all Mr Charlesworth’s students go over to storage room four please.’
When they were all there, Morris told them, ‘This is Lewis. He has something very important to tell you. Please listen carefully.’ ‘Hi lads.’ Lewis said, ‘I do a lot of voluntary counselling. In case anyone doesn’t know, that means people who have a problem that they find far too embarrassing to tell anyone about, comes to see me so I can sort it out for them.’
‘Recently I discovered from one of the students who has left, that he left because Mr Charlesworth had raped him.’ A quick glance round at the six faces looking at him convinced Lewis that all six had suffered. ‘Rape is a terrible thing for anyone to suffer.’ Lewis told them.
‘The victim is usually far more embarrassed about anyone knowing about it, than they are about what they have suffered. They are also very reluctant to make it public by reporting it to the police. That makes it very difficult to stop it happening.’
‘Following further investigation, Mr Charlesworth was caught red handed last week, raping a young boy in the extra room inside this storage room. As a result of that, last night, he was seized by a father of one of his victims.’
‘Then, in the room where he raped so many, he was stripped, tied down and punished for what he had done. You will not see him here again. Now, I’m sure you will be interested to know what his punishment was. Just before I tell you, please pass these around, look at them then I’ll tell you what they are.’

‘If you do, no one will ever know anything you tell me. And unless you tell someone yourself, no one will even know you’ve been to see me. As you can see, we are all similar ages, so that should help too. Does anyone have any questions?’
‘Can I ask what happens to his balls now?’ one boy asked. ‘I’ll be putting them in the bin later today.’ Lewis told him grinning. Everyone laughed. Seeing no further questions, Morris told them, ‘We have to find a replacement tutor, so it’s going to be a bit hit and miss for today at least. Do what you can, and I’ll come and see you shortly after I’ve taken Lewis up to see the secretary.’
They left the group talking amongst themselves and went to the office. Morris introduced Lewis and told her that Mr Charlesworth had been told he was fired and sent home last night. ‘I’ll let Lewis explain.’ he said and sat down with relief.
Lewis explained about his counselling. ‘Having heard what Mr Charlesworth was doing, I contacted my friend Morris, and between us we ascertained that Charlesworth had probably raped eleven or more boys from here.’
The secretary looked horrified and asked if they were all ok. ‘They’ll survive,’ Lewis said, ‘And they have been given a contact to get help if they need it. No one wanted to report him and let it become public because they were far too embarrassed about it.’ Lewis explained, ‘So some left and some stayed and suffered it, some more than once.’
‘Last night Morris and I set a trap in storeroom four, then stood by outside. We burst in and stopped him, just as he was starting to rape one of the present students. We secured him, then Morris left to take the boy home. I called a father of one of the boys who has left. He came over immediately.’
‘He gave Mr Charlesworth a knockout injection. Then the father removed his testicles, so he can never rape anyone ever again. I have them in my pocket if you would like to see them.’ Lewis added smiling at her. The secretary looked a bit sick at the idea and shook her head.
‘When he left, I called Morris back, then released Mr Charlesworth and explained what had been done to him. I told him that if he approached any of his victims or set foot in this building ever again, I would make the photos I took of his operation public, along with the reason it was done.’
‘I have a video of last night’s rape, which clearly shows what he did, and that the boy was forced to do it. I propose to keep the video in a secure place for twelve months, in case there are any problems. If your bosses need any proof to confirm his dismissal, Morris can confirm it. If necessary, I am willing to meet with them and show the video to them, but I will not allow any copies.’
‘I don’t know what to say,’ she said, ‘It’s horrible.’ She thanked Lewis for what he’d done and asked if there was anything that she could do for him. ‘I’ve just spoken to all of his present students,’ Lewis told her, ‘So they know he’s been punished.’
‘I will also be contacting the ones who have left to tell them about it too. It occurs to me that as they were forced out, now that Charlesworth has gone, some of them might like to return and continue, or at least be given the option.’
‘Of course,’ she said, ‘Tell them to contact me and I’ll see they get a place on the next course. Oh, and tell them what happened won’t be mentioned.’ she added. As they headed for the door, Morris asked, ‘Shouldn’t you be at school today?’
‘Yes, I’ll go in this afternoon.’ Lewis told him. ‘Don’t worry I have permission to be off for this morning as I have a very understanding form master.’ That evening Lewis rang the seven boys who had left. He told each one what had happened.
He passed on the offer for them to return. He also told them if they were having any problems because of it, he’d be happy to see them. Three of the boys said they had found other jobs since and were settled and happy there.
Two said they would think about it, and two said they would love to return and would contact the secretary. Lewis thanked the boy who had given him the information and told him that he had helped to put an end to it.
FRIDAY - DANNY & JAKE
That Friday Danny was passing the university hospital reception desk and saw that Jake was on his own. He wandered over and asked how he was doing. ‘No nightmares since,’ he said beaming at him, ‘But that’s not all. I rang Clair the following evening as you suggested.’
