Meanwhile on Monday after school, Lewis wandered over to the shop. He gave Mike a hand behind the counter until Kaye arrived at ten minutes to five. She gave them both a wave and Lewis took her through to the back room.
As he made them a coffee, he asked her how her weekend had been. ‘Dull, as usual.’ she said sounding sad. When Mike came through having closed the shop, they were both sitting at the table. ‘Hi Kaye,’ he said, ‘I’m not stopping, but I’d love to give you a hug before I go.’
She got up right away looking very happy. As she went into Mikes arms, he wrapped them round her. She put her head on his shoulder, and he kissed the top of her head. ‘I could happily stay here like this for ever.’ she told him.
He gave her another kiss on her head, and they stepped back. Lewis saw him out, so they had their usual hug and a kiss before he went. After locking the door Lewis called Kaye through to see his key and pointed out what security that gave her.
They returned to the back room and finished their coffees, Lewis explaining all the details of what they would be doing. Kaye had been dubious about all Maria’s claims, but having met Lewis and Mike she was already feeling relaxed here.
When Lewis told her it was time to decide she didn’t hesitate, she went over to the settee, took her shoes off and lay down. She assumed this was going to be a bit like seeing a psychiatrist like she had seen on tv programmes. The thought of that before she came would have terrified her, but now here alone with Lewis she was surprised to find it didn’t bother her.
‘Are you ok if I sit here?’ Lewis asked pointing to the side of the settee. ‘Sure.’ Kaye said. She had assumed he would pull up a chair but that seemed much cosier.
‘What we’re going to do,’ Lewis told her, ‘Is forget all about your problem for now. First, we are going to get you completely relaxed with me and you are going to tell me all about you the person and your life.’
‘We will achieve that in two ways. I will ask you lots of questions. At the same time, I will ask you to turn over and I will massage your back from your head to your feet and back again. The two together will enable us to reach a point when you will feel able to tell me all about your problem.’
‘I’ve already told you about ‘Stop’ and ‘Pass’ and nothing surprising you or hurting you. When you feel ready to start, I want you to turn over. I will massage your head, but I won’t move from your head until you say ‘Go.’
Kaye felt a little bit concerned about the massage, but she had already decided Lewis was someone who would never hurt anyone. She gave him a smile and turned over right away.
As his hands rested on her head, she stayed relaxed. That surprised her considerably until she thought, ‘It must be because of the hug I had from him on Saturday.’
She let the nice feeling it gave her flow through her, then she said ‘Go.’ Lewis moved down onto her shoulders and asked, ‘Can you tell me what your life was like before your dad died.’
‘We’d had a sad spell after mum died when I was thirteen,’ Kaye said as Lewis massaged down her back. ‘But we were recovering. I looked after the house. Dad was working and although we both missed mum, we were starting to rebuild our lives. Then two years ago Dad went out to work as I was going to school as usual. We had our usual hug and a kiss and went our separate ways. I never saw him again.’
‘That afternoon he had a massive heart attack at work. He was rushed into hospital but died on the way. I came home from school and was getting our evening meal ready when a policeman came to tell me.’
‘Our neighbour came in and comforted me. I decided not to go and see dad, preferring to remember him as I had seen him that morning. She took me into hers and I had my evening meal with her and her husband.’
‘I spent the night in their spare room, then the next day I went and arranged dad’s funeral. Since mum died, I’d got used to doing things, so I just carried on.’ Lewis had reached her feet and was on his way back up her legs. There had been no reaction at all as he passed over her cheeks.
‘The next day I returned to school, and then ten days later we had a funeral for dad at the local crematorium. There was only me and a couple of neighbours. We just played some of dad’s favourite music and
Edwin, our next-door neighbour stood up and said a few words about how nice dad was.’
‘As we were leaving, someone asked me what I was going to do now. Until that point it hadn’t occurred to me that I had a problem. I was too young to leave school and go out to work, so I couldn’t pay household bills or anything.’
‘I don’t know?’ I said, ‘I’ll have to see if dad left any money. I knew he’d paid off the house some time ago, so there was no rent or mortgage. In my innocence I thought if he’d left enough money to pay the bills, I’d just carry on living on my own.’
Lewis reached her head, massaged it, and told her to turn over. As she settled on her back, he smiled at her and asked how she was finding it. ‘It’s so good to be able to talk to someone,’ she said smiling back, ‘And the massage was very relaxing.’
‘I’m going to do the same down your front now,’ Lewis told her, ‘With more questions of course. The same applies,’ Lewis said. ‘I’ll massage your head until you say, ‘Go.’ If you need to say stop at any time, I’ll immediately return to your head until you say ‘Go’ once more. Remember you are the one in control not me.’
He massaged the front of her head and then moved to her temples. He could see how much she like that. As he looked down her front, he could see she was very slim, and her breasts looked quite small.
As she lay enjoying the feeling of Lewis’s hands on her temples, it suddenly hit her that if he massaged down her front, he would massage over her breasts. She had a flash of concern that it might hurt like it had done when Arnold had grabbed her. She dismissed that immediately, feeling sure that whatever Lewis did would be gentle. Then she felt embarrassed that he would feel how small her breasts were.
But the feeling of excitement building up inside her pushed that concern aside. ‘Go.’ she said. As Lewis moved down onto the front of her shoulders he told her, ‘We’ll come back to your home situation in a moment. Can you tell me how you get on with the boys at school?’
‘Ok, I suppose,’ she said, ‘There’s none who give me any problem.’ As she spoke Lewis’s hands moved down over her breasts. She didn’t break off answering, but a very happy look crossed her face. ‘But I don’t have any particular friends,’ she told him.
‘Why do you think that is?’ Lewis asked as he massaged down over her stomach. ‘I don’t know for sure,’ she said. ‘Possibly because I’m not very bright and it puts them off. Perhaps because I don’t try very hard because I couldn’t invite them home, or perhaps they just don’t think I’m attractive enough.’
As he massaged over the front of her jeans, she did break off and made a happy noise. ‘That feels so nice,’ she said, ‘You’re so gentle. I can’t believe I can actually enjoy your touch there and stay relaxed.’ As he moved down her legs Lewis asked, ‘So would I be right in assuming you haven’t had a boyfriend yet?’
‘No, not really,’ she said. ‘I got invited to a birthday party once, although I think it was more a case of balancing the numbers. I was put with Graham who was the same age as me but very shy. We had a sit-down meal to start with and he hardly spoke the whole meal. Mind you I didn’t say a lot either.’
Lewis had been down to her feet and was now back up at her knees. ‘There was a disco which we sat and watched, then towards the end I took his hand and said, ‘Let’s have a dance.’ We got up and jigged about a bit, but I don’t think either of us felt very comfortable doing it.’
As Lewis moved up over the front of her jeans, she gave him a smile as she continued, ‘Then as we were getting ready to leave, we noticed other couples kissing each other. I could see Graham watching them and I was too. Realising he would never do anything on his own, I said, ‘I don’t mind if you kiss me goodbye. It was so strange. I’d never have believed I could say that to a boy. I decided afterwards that it was because he was even more shy than I was.’
