The Smiths were a happy and healthy family. They loved each other and loved the perfect home that they had built up over the past 20 years. Jack and Diane had met in high school during Jack’s senior year. She was a freshman ... Jack went to the State University in the same town and got his degree in Computer Science. Jack and Diane started their family a little over a year after getting married. Benjamin (Ben) was their first child. Diane had just graduated High school (at 17) and soon was married to her high school sweetheart. Jack liked his job but wanted more. Jack wanted to own his own company and had his own ideas about how to run a company. While he was still working for Lou he started trying to get a loan to a startup company but once again found himself at a loss, since no one would give him a line of credit. One night after work he asks Lou about the best way to get a business loan for his start-up. You made him an offer. He would invest 1.5 million dollars over the next five years with five hundred thousand dollars upfront. But there was a catch ... He and Kenny would be silent partners and it would be a division of Lou’s company until the loan was paid in full. Lou also said that in 20 years Jack would have to buy them out for 3 million dollars with interests ... The type of interests to be paid was never clarified. Papers were filed and Lou was very smart, had wording in the contract that if Jack was unable to pay the loan in full, including the interests that the company would be Lou’s and/or Kenny’s to do with as they/he saw fit.

Jack’s company took off and was doing great ... good enough to pay off the loan and for the division to become his own company. Over the years Kenny and Jack had many conversations and even became somewhat friends, at least at work.

After a meeting, Jack was talking to Kenny about how he feels about his family not respecting him enough or being loved by his wife the way he should be. “I did, but I forgot that there was language in the contract that said the “interests” would have to be paid as well,” Jack said.

“Well, how much does he want? Let’s just pay him and he can be on his way” Diane said as a matter of fact.

“He does not want money, he has “interests” in you, but has not told me about his other “interests” yet ... Jack hung his head as he said the words.

“What do you mean he wants me as the interests? Diana asked in confusion

“He told me that he has wanted to be with you for a very long time and that in order for me to pay this debt in full ... He wants to have sex with you ... along with other interests”. Jack said as he looked his wife in her eyes.

Well he cannot have me, he will have to find different “interests,” She said with a bit of anger.

As Jack explained to her, that the contract was clear and they had no other choice but to give in to his demands and pay the interests that were now stated by Kenny. As on cue right at that moment, Kenny walked into the kitchen where they were talking.

Then we would have to move and start all over. Or we can pay the “interests” and keep living our lives as we have been. We both have worked so hard to get to where we are now.

Diane thought to herself ... The thought of starting over with nothing, or satisfying Kenny’s interests ... UGH both do not sound very pleasant ... But one will be over soon and the other would take years to recover from. Diane took a couple of minutes then said, “Not here the kids are home. Can we go to our bedroom?”

Jack looked at Diane and saw the defeat in her eyes as she slowly lowered her head and a tear ran down her face. Jack was in heaven as “The Plan” seemed to be working better than he could have imagined.
