Chapter 36: HEY’GIRL

The love of my life is my wife. Marshall always was an incredible girl and since growing into a very credible young woman, she’s now become an extraordinary business woman. Am I lucky and proud, or what?

News from home. You may recognize the truth in, behind every successful man is a good woman? Assuming that’s true, then extrapolating, behind every fuckup or scoundrel is a no-good woman? Or maybe no woman at all?

Marshall uncovered the real bad female influence twisting Johnny’s perceptions into surrealistic hallucinations. Actually, Yolanda outed herself by presuming she could intimidate petite Marshall.

She informed Marshall that Johnny was HER man, and Marshall needed to ‘hands off’ and quit trying to stir up trouble between the brothers. Called Marshall “A little stupid ‘Nagger’ gal.”

Marshall straight away chained and padlocked the apartment and shops beneath the apartment, and told Yolanda to “Git!”.

She informed Sergey, Yolanda is “persona non grata” and if he wanted to continue to work the scrap yard, he could drag the empty mobile office out to the prepping site next to the rail spur and live in that. Him only. Marshall hired spies to inform her of current affairs. Marshall told Sergey she didn’t want, and suggested HE didn’t want Marshall to learn Yolanda was living there with him, and she had resources to know if he disregards her wishes.

Actually, she hired two returned drafteed vets to work in the scrap yard, with Sergey, and learn the business from him, as well as quietly report to her any sightings of Yolanda near the premises.

Both young men claimed to have flown aboard ‘Iron Balls’ Collin’s chopper and are honored to meet my wife and work for us.

Diverging from the narrative long enough to explain the nickname ‘Iron Balls’.

During a courier trip to Singapore for the Colonel, some unaccountable delay gave me an opportunity to shop the thieves market there. Among several baubles I bought and sent home to Marshall, was a fine chain link, gold plated, net coin purse.

Marshall returned the purse to me, suggesting it reminded her of chain mail worn by knights in Medieval days. She suggested wearing it to cover my scrotum. I never did check for fit, but I carry it with me for it’s intended purpose as a coin purse, but in addition a good luck piece and a fine private joke between Marshall and me.

When people see and ask to examine the net purse, I dissuade them by claiming I DO use it as balls protection, and it probably has some of my pubes embarrassingly enmeshed in the chain mail. Their open expectant hands quickly disappear behind their backs upon hearing this fake excuse. Word quickly got around I wear a steel net to cover my balls. Hence ‘Iron Balls’ Collins.

When anyone asks if this tale is true, I place my hand on my fly and ask if they want to see? No takers so far!

Narrative resumes. The veterans are devoted and loyal to Marshall.

Yolanda threatened to sic the law on Marshall if Yolanda isn’t permitted to retrieve her personal belongings from the apartment.

Marshall said “Sure! Let’s call Sheriff Rufus. He’s a personal friend of Rick’s. I know him well.” Yolanda demurred and soon disappeared on a bus to somewhere, sans luggage.

Johnny looked lost for a few days after Yolanda left, until Jin took pity on him and took him in tow. Jin straightened out his head about who his friends, family and benefactors really are. Johnny is very agreeable to any of Jin’s suggestions. I suspect Johnny does a lot of his cogitating with his littlest head. He’s very easily pussy whipped.
