When Rebecca finally went to sleep, I got up. Nora and I had gone to bed after our meeting with Frederick. It had been productive, but it had also been a long day. Rebecca was staying in her room, but I had to wait for her to fall asleep before I could leave for my final appointment of the day.
Once she was asleep, I sleep locked both her and Nora so that no one would notice I was gone. Up thru the skylight, and cloaked, I started an app on my phone. Free of the software cutouts that make gps stop working if you go above a certain speed or altitude, the simple app used the phones gps to locate its current position, and display an arrow in the direction of any latitude and longitude point you added. It could do multiple waypoints, as well as display current altitude and location.
I already had the location programmed. I headed up above 50,000 feet, wrapped in a bubble of pressurized air, a cloak absorbing all radiation except gps signals, and a sound nullifier to prevent sonic booms. I headed roughly southwest towards Valencia, Spain. The 700 miles took me thirty minutes, mainly because I passed it before I realized how close I was.
As I dropped on the big house, I scanned it. All inside were asleep. I reached out with my power and sleep locked them all. One by one I went to each person in the house, and filled their minds with my power. I closed my eyes and asked questions.
The father shared images of him having sex with Alice as a youngster when she came to live with them, and even as an adult. He would do anything for her.
The mother shared images of the abuse she afflicted on Alice in retaliation for the knowledge that she was sleeping with her husband, then the images turned to fear when Alice threatened her in return. Eventually they came to respect each other, sharing the father in bed. Now she hoped for Alice’s return so she could kill her in ‘self defense’ and claim the Swiss estate.
The daughter was the victim of abuse by everyone, the older Alice tormented her, the father abused her before Alice came into his life, and the mother beat her for failing to be perfect. She lived at home because she had nowhere else to go, and was prevented from having anything to do with anyone outside the family.
The household staff were mostly innocents, except one man that raped women as directed by the father when he wanted to punish a particular person. I carried the daughter out of the house, along with the innocent staff. Then floating above the house, I wrapped it in a cloak and burned it to the ground with the guilty still inside.
The innocent were laying outside under a few blankets I had taken from the house. I slipped a small envelope inside the daughter’s pocket, released the sleep lock, and went home.
When I awoke the next morning, Nora was cuddled up to me. I slipped out of bed, and got dressed. I ate a quick breakfast, then had Guido drive me to the bank.
Herr Müller came straight down when I announced my request at the tellers office, and led me straight to his office.
“I’ve been going thru my father’s things, and have discovered that he had a huge contact list around the world for acquiring diamonds. I’d like to set up a business here in Switzerland to act as a provider of unique diamonds, and have the bank act as escrow for the custom requests.”
“That can easily be done. We have paper companies, institutes that are already on file with the government but have no office, employees, etcetera. We sell you the company, you change the name if you wish, pick the board, so on. The price depends on the age of the company, the older the better it looks.”
“Can the bank provide secure transaction hosting for the website, as well as design and maintenance?”
“Of course, our digital division can offer all of that.”
“How much is the oldest paper company you have?”
“There is a company that was established in 1968, it’s price is 9 million.”
“What is it called?” I asked.
“Zukunft Zuerst,” he said, German for Future First.
“I’ll take it. I’d like to make my diamond service a division of the company, and keep the name. It’s just too great of a name to change.”
“Yes it has been a significant cost for the bank to defend the name of the company, as it is a registered trademark.”
“Who do I see about the transaction?”
“I can take care of that. Will you be paying by cash, card, or transfer?”
“Transfer from the joint account, then close it, and move the rest of the money into my personal account.”
He typed a few things into his computer, and then handed me the receipt that printed.
“And who do I see about creating the corporate structure, and necessary divisions of the company?”
“As you exit my office, turn left, and go up two floors. The door in front of the elevator is Corporate Accounts, they will take care of all your business banking needs, while I will continue to care for personal banking needs.
“When you finish with them, drop by digital services, and they will set you up with what you need.”
“Thank you, I’m continually amazed by the services this bank provides even on weekends.”
“We are happy to assist. Is there anything else?” he asked.
“I am looking at acquiring property for light manufacturing, and research and development. Are there any particular good deals that you are aware of?”
“Corporate services will be best suited to handle commercial property, but our real estate division can handle all purchase and sales of properties, regardless if it’s for business or residence.
“It sounds like you intend to remain in Switzerland?”
“Yes, we will see how the winters are, but I’m loving Zurich.”
“Welcome then, I hope you find it as wonderful a place to call home as I do. By the way, have you had your visa taken care of yet?”
“Um, I forgot about that.”
