He knocked on the wall to get her attention and asked, “Do you mind if I talk to you for a few minutes?”
Meredith said, “Sure, sit down. What do you have on your mind?”
She He started the conversation give up control of so much money power to a stranger such as me?”
Meredith and said, “First of all, no longer a stranger to us. We know what drives you to do when your characters like it, and you would be surprised what you can dig up on the Internet. Second, what you call control is merely an illusion that you are in charge. You are not in charge. Cassandra will have more power than you do. But as far as an llusion goes, you will wield power and find it enjoyable. Given time may acquire some of that control you think you might be getting, but only comes with trust.”
Meredith continued,” involved in what will happen. But since these rules with your moral and ethical behavior, you will not even know they exist. You may believe that you are using us when we are using you. You may see that in time and then have another discussion. But for now, I will tell you that the offer for you to be a master is legitimate.”
Bob thought about it for a few minutes, and while nothing she said ha changed his mind e also find any flaws, for she said it true. Power is anllusion. So, asked, “So the offer for the position is legitimateI would not call it a job as I would enjoy it too much to be a job, plus of a lifestyle than a job. You are right in that rather than use the power I would want to contribute to the estate”
Meredith continued, “o you have other questions you care to address before you make your decision?”
He said, “re there any restrictions to what I can do?”
Meredith continued, “here are restrictions which you will find in time as you explore your new. ue to their involvement with each other, and Jill will only respond to you if it has something to do with the house ... Yes, they are our servants, but they are also our friends have been with us a long time. If you put a strain on their relationship, then you will have to leave. Please remember this is not a lifetime commitment. It is simply a lifestyle change.”
Bob continued, “o what happens if I want to do this anymore? Do I get into my old car and drive away?”
Meredith continued, “ince we have not done this in the past, we are open to ut like any, I would suppose that if you wanted to leave, you would give us two weeks to convince you to staytherwise, we give you a severance package equal to when you visit. I will not tell you about that package because I do not know. So, you have two weeks to whether you want to accept a.”
Bob asked, “So am I a two-week trial?”
Meredith continued, “I suppose you could call it that. From your standpoint, if you did not want to stay or get your car and leave, I would think. So yes, you do have two weeks to decide. Of course, we will miss you, as we look for somebody else. We have found in our search that somebody else is hard to come by.”
Bob asked, “Do I get to leave the estate, as in like to go shopping, go on vacation?”
Meredith continued, “ou can either go or invite others, including Jack and Jill. We go shopping all the timee do not shop locally, but we have access to a private jet to fly us wherever we want to go shopping. When I was researching you, interested in golf We all play golf, none of us any good, but being rich means we want. So that would be one type of vacation that we could go on. Also, since you are retired, it is like being on vacation all the timeut you are not the kind of man who goes on vacation forever. You will find something.”
Well, that seem to answered all of Bob’s questions. They had an essential sight into his personality him like an open book. So, he told Meredith, “Well, I have all the answers I need. I usually do a walkabout to determine an explanation for this situation. So, if you do not mind, I will explore the estate while I think about what to do for my future.”
Bob started to walk around the estate, exploring every door. He found two unoccupied bedrooms upstairs. to the game room, he wondered how you play a movie. So asked, “Cassandra, how do watch a movie?”
What movie you can watch would depend on your imagination and how much information you know bout the film.
Cassandra the movie you want to watchrab a seat, and I will it. I will be the remote control for the theater. I can play any movie released on DVD. I will you cannot watch it.”
Well, he confirmed the amount of power that Cassandra wielded. She must him as he through the houses. There were two mechanical storage rooms upstairs. One room held the. The other room had the communications for the house, the Internetalso appeared to be several servers running. That must be Cassandra. He went to the central staircase and walked downstairs. There were a lot of private cubbyholes in this house. One could hide from the others and have privacy. Privacy is odd since most of the doors he ran into were open.
Bob walked through the parlor doors and into the gym off the deck. He found that the gym was well stocked, with all the weights and exercise machines you need to stay fit. Bob decided to take a swim and spen some time meditating in the hot tub. He went out on the deck and found a table, where he undressed, folded his clothes on the table, and jumped into the pool. Bob swam over to the hot tub and got in. He ha a complete view of the entire house.
He only had one choice to makewhether to stay or leave. If he and they let him stay, he has a r he could pack up his belongings, get back into his run-down car limp back home, and start looking for a job. Face it two choicesone where could do whatever, and one where to some company. The choice was clear decided to get whatever he wanted.
