Robert has stayed late at school again today. He tries to participate in any school activity or help out some teacher with something. He even gets in trouble for detention if it comes down to it. And he does it because his father is always waiting for him. But today it’s different. As soon as Robert comes through the door, he finds the house seemingly empty.

He steps in, holding his breath. Usually his father is waiting for him when he steps into the house. Not this time. He drops his backpack on the floor and continues further in.
