Chapter 4

Elinore swings the sword as a wave of flames fly off of it, knocking back the guards around her as she charges towards the gigantic man. He stomps on the ground causing a pillar of earth to erupt from the earth blocking her attack. The sword goes flying into the air as he charges through the pillar, knocking her back.

“That’s a good one girl. Where the hell did you pull this power from?” He asks, glaring at her.

She stares in a daze, holding out her hand. “This is our power.” The sword form again in a burst of flames as fire dances around her. “The two of us won’t lose to some foul man like you.”

“Two? That cursed minor item? Is there someone on there?” He asks, stomping ahead. “I heard you could hear voices from the legendary weapons, I wonder does that apply to that thing too?”

Elinore charges in, swinging the sword again as the guard blocks the attack with his hand. “This is exciting. I never get to have fights like this out here, you’re so good at foreplay baby.”

Disgusted, she shoots a wave of fire through the blade that burns the man as he screams out in excitement. She stares at his crazed face as he smiles drooling as she slices through his fingers cutting the side of his face.

“That hurts so good!” He screams out.

“What’s wrong with you?” He holds out his hand as his fingers almost instantly regrow. “I can fight all night long baby, don’t underestimate me!”

“He’s doping.” She says concerned.

“Elinore.” A voice rings out through her head.

She looks around before staring at the sword. “Kaito!”

“Are you okay?”

She smiles. “I’m fine, thank you for worrying about me.”

“Ms. Elinore.” The Angel’s voice replaces Kaito’s. “You’re almost out of time. You only took in a little of my Master’s seamen so your time is short. An opponent like this is a terrible match for your first fight though. If you concentrate, you can unleash Master’s full power in a single strike to end this all.”

He charges ahead, gathering rocks and earth around his body until it forms into a large stone armor encasing his body. He roars our shaking the earth underneath him as Elinore holds out her sword.

“Will this work?”

“You can do this,” Kaito says.

With a smile on her face, she grips the blade, channeling all the energy she can through the blade. A burst of flames rockets from the sword into the stone golem, piercing it as chunks of rock go flying across the field. In the middle, the guard falls to the ground a burned husk as his rocky armor collapses around him.

“I did it.” She says falling to the ground as her vision slowly fades. “What’s going on?”

“You’ve used up not only the Master’s power but your internal mana as well. You will lose consciousness soon.” The Angel says.

The guards move out around her, staring down at her Elinore as the sword fades away into nothingness.

“Is it safe?” One guard asks.

“That’s the cursed weapon? What should we do with her?”

“She’s unconscious for now. We’ll kill her and take the armlet back into the vault, it’s a shame Herreid had to die, but in the end, he did his duty.” The guard captain says.

The guards pull out their swords and approach carefully, aiming for the unconscious Elinore.
