Chapter 12

Bonny walks out onto the deck of the ship as it flies through the skies. She takes in a deep breath and screams out loudly as Elinore walks up behind her.

“Yup, I truly belong up in the skies,” Bonny says wiping her forehead.

“It looks like all of our stuff is still here,” Elinore says happily.

Bonny nods. “Good. Those church assholes better not have taken our stuff. But I can’t believe I managed to get myself wrapped up in dungeoneering.”

“Don’t worry, with Kaito’s power we can surely do this!” Elinore yells out.

Bonny shakes her head. “Yeah, Elinore Kaito’s power is strong. But it puts us out after we use it, we need to increase our strength without relying on Kaito and only use him in desperate situations.”

“You have a point there. Even if you’re wrong about one thing.”

“What?”

“Remember?”

Bonny blushes. “Sorry, Eli.”

Elinore hugs her tightly. “It’s no problem. We’re sisters after all.”

“But anyway. We need to understand more about Kaito and how he works or else we’ll just be swinging around blindly in the dark.”

“Why don’t we ask him.” Elinore points towards Bonny’s arm with Kaito’s armlet still resting on it.

Bonny taps the armlet as the gem changes from red to green. “Kaito, are you still there?”

“I’m always here.” He says.

Elinore smiles. “Yay, I can still hear his voice.”

“It appears that anyone who formed a contract with me can hear my voice. Or at least that’s what the angel says.” Kaito says.

“Stupid Holy. Their always so obtuse about things.” Bonny says.

“Holy?”

“That’s what Ms. Angel is. Did you think she was an Elf like us?” Elinore asks.

“An Elf. I’m not an Elf, I’m a human.”

“A human what’s that?” Bonny asks.

“I’m just a human.”

The pair pause for a moment before Bonny takes the armlet off of her arm. “Just how much of this world do you understand?” She asks.

“I don’t know. Ever since I woke up in this form, I’ve just been here, I don’t even know how long I’ve been here.” Kaito says.

Elinore and Bonny stare at each other. “Are you from somewhere else Kaito?”

“Yes. I died in my world and my soul seemed to transfer into this one. And then I was put into this armlet.”

The pair look at each other and Bonny sighs. “Fine, I guess we do have some time before we reach the dungeon.”

“So, what do you know?” Elinore asks.

“I know about the four dungeons and the treasures, but that’s it.”

Elinore nods. “So, I guess I should go over the basics.”

“You seem way too excited about this,” Bonny says.

“I liked teaching my younger siblings back home, so I like teaching people.” She turns her attention towards Kaito. “There are four major regions in this world. Zae, Galinn, Arere, and Detoner. Each one has a dungeon with a treasure deep within them.”
