The four of us slowly walked through the woods. Aaron led the way, his mace in one hand and Jill’s hand in the older.
Kayla had hooked her arm through mine, part for comfort and part to help me walk. I knew that I’d heal from Jennifer’s attack but it was still going to suck for a while.
“So, what were those big dog things?” Kayla finally asked.
“Liz said that Alicia is into genetic engineering stuff, so they are some sort of lab monster I guess.”
“Liz? She’s here?” Kayla asked.
“Yeah, they are all working together. Alicia owns the club. Her and Liz know each other from way back. They have all been behind the scenes this whole time.”
“Do you know what happened to everyone else?” Jill asked.
“Everyone?”
Jill stopped and turned to look at me.
“The other girls?”
I stopped and looked at Jill, then at Kayla.
“Scotty? What’s wrong?” Kayla asked.
“They are gone too.” I mumbled.
Kayla collapsed on top of me. Jill began to cry as well and walked over Kayla, who wrapped her arm around her.
Aaron and I just stood and watched as the girls held each other and cried.
“We’re still the Vampire Sorority, right?” Kayla babbled.
“Forever. Vampire Sorority forever.” Jill sobbed.
“Vampire Sorority forever.” Kayla agreed through her tears.
“Come on girls, let’s get the fuck out of here.” Aaron said, putting his hand on Jill’s shoulder.
After what seemed like an hour, we came to the other side of the clearing that opened up into the house.
“Do we really want to go in there? I can’t imagine that she wouldn’t have guards or something.”
“You would be right!” Came a voice.
The four of us jumped and looked to the side. Alicia came out of the shadows and clapped.
“Bitch. You fucking bitch! You killed my friends!” Kayla screamed and began to move towards Alicia.
“You’re gonna die!” Jill yelled, moving behind Kayla with the knife raised.
“Pull your girls back or you’re all going to die.” Alicia said calmly.
She let out a whistle and suddenly a hundred red laser beams lit up the night.
“Kayla, Jill! Back off!” I ordered.
Aaron’s arm shot out and grabbed Jill’s shoulder.
“She killed our friends! She killed the Sorority!” Kayla exclaimed.
“Kayla, look around! We are way outnumbered.”
“You are outnumbered, outgunned and outclassed. I should be mad for taking out my number one girl, but I have to give credit where credit is due.” Alicia said smoothly.
“Yeah? You want to take us out to dinner or something?” I asked.
“I figured letting you live was enough of a reward.” Alicia shrugged.
“Gee, thanks.”
“Considering the circumstances and the problems you’ve brought me, I’d think that that was a pretty fair present. Would you care to disagree?” Alicia asked, snapping her fingers and pointing.
The lasers all moved to focus on Kayla’s chest.
