Chapter 88: Phillip Surprise

Phillip walked into his office and saw the cut cake. Recognising Tina hand writing he rang her. Tina in her cheeky way replied “Sorry Grandfather I do not have the privilege to give you any information other than enjoy a slice with your morning coffee.”

Tina hung up. His first thought was Helena was involved. He walked into the restaurant and went to their table. He explained what he found and Tina’s reply. Both Fred and Helena laughed. Fred replied “Sorry Phillip, we cannot say anything, like Tina, we do not have permission to tell you anything yet. I will say it is good, not bad, news!”

Phillip walked away shaking his head.

At 10.15am Andrew and Xena knocked on his door. Xena had a tray with three coffee’s. They saw the half cut cake from last night. Xena asked “Whats with the cake Grandfather?” in a smiling I knowing voice.

Phillip replied “No one tells me anything. Tina, Helena and Fred told me they do not have permission or privilege to say anything. Do you know what is happening?”

Xena placed the tray of coffee down on his desk. Andrew and Xena held hands,

Andrew replied “Yes Sir, Last night I ask Xena to be my wife, Xena said Yes.”

Phillip quickly got off of his chair rushed around his desk and hugged them both. “Congratulations.” He was so proud of them.

Xena showed off her ring advising “Yes both Claire and I got asked last night. We came here to see them and discovered Helena and Fred with them. Tina went and came in with this cake. The four of us cut the cake and Tina served us. I did not know Tina would leave it here for you. She is crafty. I take it they did not tell you of our engagement. They left that for Andrew and I to inform you. They are truly wonderful people not spoiling our surprise to you.” Xena and Phillip had a few tears. Andrew’s eyes were wet as well hugging each other.

Phillip replied “Now I will really enjoy a slice of this wonderful cake.”

There was a knock on the door and Tina walked in with two coffee’s and some plates and forks. Helena and Fred followed. Xena ran to Helena saying “Thank you guys for both last night and allowing Andrew and I to tell my Grandfather in person.” Tina put the plates down “Tina, I love the way you surprised grandfather. Nice touch with the cake on his desk.” They hugged in joy.

Phillip produced a cake knife and proceed to cut some 6 slices, they enjoyed their coffee’s and cake together. They ended up having lunch together in the restaurant.

On Monday Helena and Fred went down to the Swiss bank. The manager came out of his office and greeted Helena. Going towards the Safe box area Helena introduced her husband Fred. He obtained some forms and got both to sign to change the accounts name. She asked to see box 4. They brought the box to the safe custody room and left them alone. Helena opened the box and showed Fred the Australian property deeds. 950 of them. Fred placed them in a brief case he carried and they locked the box after noting the other contents.
