Chapter 86: Buying my Hotel

The next morning the staff all fussed about the girls over breakfast. Xena paid in cash this time. Harry passed the message about the actions. Helena and Fred had breakfast in their room.

Just before 10am they caught the lift to the top floor and actually met the manager in the lift. Helena shook his hand. Harry mentioned ‘Bingo got the nasty. Damn I so want him.’

As they exited the lift, The manager knocked on the door just as it was answered Helena mentioned “Who owns the hotel? Are they interested in selling. I’ll pay a good price for it.”

The Romano’s opened the door whilst Helena was asking her questions. The male said “We own it come in and we can discuss.” Helena and Fred were introduced to Steve and Denise. They shook hands. Harry mentioned ‘Got them.’

Steve said “The price would be 1 billion Vatu.”

Fred asked “Sorry mate I’m an Aussie, what is that in Australian currency?” Knowing full well it converted to around $12.6 m

Denise answered “That is around $21.5 million I believe.”

Fred looked at Helena smiled, “I’m happy with that price, do you agree?” then looking serious.

Denise quickly got out some paper and wrote “Sale price for the hotel AUD 21.5 million.

She signed it and got her husband to sign it then handed it over to Fred.
Fred asked the manager “Could you witness this for me mate.” He signed it as well. They failed to get Helena and Fred to sign. Fred then called Claire to come up.

As they talked about the hotel and the business Claire got Peter and with Xena came up to the room still in their bikini’s. The men just lusted after them. Fred introduced Claire and Xena. The manager demanded to his assistant manager “Why are you here?”

Helena then said “I asked him to attend. Xena can you call your Uncle Tony people to get here quickly please?” Xena understood and left the room Claire started to take notes. “Now first thing, where is the Will?” Looking at the manager.

He immediately replied “In the safe downstairs combination is 33.63.44.36” then placed his hand over his mouth.

Helena asked the “Romano’s what are your true names.”

They both replied with their full names. It was not Romano. They were infact related to the manager through marriage.

Helena next statement “Peter, you will take over the running of this hotel from now. Get rid of his dead wood staff and reinstate the staff wages. Your father trained you well in hotel management. I know you will do a good job.”

Peter asked “Who, may I ask, are you to give these instructions?”

Claire replied “Helena is the true owner of this hotel. I work for RMMO legal.”

The former manager replied “No, not possible.”

Just then Xena returned with two policemen. One asked “We have been instructed by the Commissioner of Police to attend. Can I ask why?”

Claire stood up and smiled “These three people have committed fraud and possibility stealing. They have acted as the owners of this hotel and tried to sell it to the true owner. Here is their letter of intent.”

The policeman asked then “Is this true?”

They both replied “Yes.” without realising what they just said. The police placed handcuffs on both of them. Claire then continues “This person took over the role of manager here under, I believe, false pretences. A letter downstairs should confirm that. They handcuffed the manager as well.

Everyone went down stairs. Peter picked up the suitcase and asked “Uncle. What is in this case?”

He replied “Cash from the hotel takings.”

Peter said to the police. “I will arrange a count and let you. Actually Uncle how much is here?”

He replied “1 million Vatu.”

Peter replied “I will get this money banked today in the hotel account.”

Xena asked “Who use to bank the money, are they still working here?”
Peter replied “Yes they got moved to room service.”
Xena replied “Get them to bank it now, you have more action to take.”

On the way down in the lift the two cleaners, former accounts staff, got in. Peter said “You guys follow me please.” They all entered the manager office. Peter opened the safe and found it full of money. He pulled it out and placed it on his desk Claire photographed it. Xena asked “How much is here?” to the old manager. He replied “1.65million Vatu.”

Peter got the two old account persons on another table to count out the money. Inside the safe was the will. Peter opened it and quickly read it. Helena took it off him gently and asked Claire to read it out. The will stated: At no time should his brother take control, He requests his son Peter to take over, then gave further instructions about various items. Peter sat down in his father’s chair shaking.

Helena asked the policemen to attend to the arrest and we will arrange the suitable evidence to be photographed. We need to bank this money please. The first policeman said “The Commissioner is coming over here, are you aware?”

Helena and Xena smiled. Helena said “No but don’t worry about any accommodation for him, Tony will stay here with us.”

The police officer looked at Helena and replied in surprise “Yes Madam. We will take these criminals away now to the jailhouse.” They left, Staff outside could not believe their eyes in seeing the manager and the so called owners be taken away by the police.

Helena said to Peter “We need to get rid of his henchmen now. Lets go and kick them out.”

Peter and Helena left the office, Claire, Xena and Fred helped the accounts people to count the cash and one went to get a banking slip. When it was all counted Fred found Helena. She directed Fred to help get the cash to the bank. The five of them went to the bank to deposit the money after Claire had photographed it. In the mean time Peter introduced Helena to the nastiest people, Harry truth them all and they were sacked on the spot and escorted off the premised by other loyal staff members. Within an hour Peter had his hotel clean. They returned to his office now.
