Chapter 79: Unit Management

By 9.45 the Saturday morning meeting area was almost full. Helena, Fred, Zac and Suzanne managed to get four chairs near the back of the hall together. At 9.55 Andrew and Jane entered to a surprising large group. In the front seat were the ladies from the previous meeting all looking happy. Moody Morgan had not appeared.

At 10 am Andrew started the meeting. Everyone had to sign in when they entered and he found there was over 75% of unit holders in attendance. He gave an overview of the investigation he had conducted confirming he could not find any legal problems, basically just the cost of some of the services were way over the industry norm. Andrew did not declare the camera issue. He then put forth the proposal for future management. He fully declared his company role and made sure everyone understood. He then asked for a show of hands as to which way to go. The first vote on self management got one vote. The second on another company management did not get a vote. The third, for his partnership business to take over got a resounding vote. Andrew was overwhelmed with the support.

He then passed around the budget for the upcoming three years (they were included in the proposal sent out) this again was approved overwhelmingly.

Andrew asked for any further business None was raised.

He then presented the maintenance payment for the next 3 years. It started with a 20% reduction in current payments as they would be using their competent contacts. All of whom had visited the units and given quotes. This was cheered. He then advised any problems or concerns, please contact they lovely ladies in Reception and they will assist. They will have all the contacts to fix 95% of concerns. He did thank them for their assistance in completing the investigations. The meeting was finished within 45 minutes. Helena got Jane attention and signalled to meet in her unit. Jane nodded in agreement.

The ladies went to Helena unit. Fred and Zac went to the coffee shop and got 9 cappuccino’s. It took 20 minutes for Andrew and Jane to appear and they appreciated the coffee’s.

Andrew said “Well I did not expect such a large turnout. With having over 75% attendance every motion passed cannot be challenged in terms of the act. I did appoint one of my good staff members to attend to the role and he is looking forward to it. Thank you Helena for the role. We will certainly look after these units.”

Zac replied “Well I’m not happy. You cost me a dinner?”

Jane looked at him “What?”

Zac smiled “Yes I stated to these three, there would not be a fee reduction, It’s never happened in the past. Now you went and did that today. I wondered why they were smiling when I mentioned it earlier this week.”

Fred replied “Yep, Luna Rosso tonight on Zac. All welcomed.”

Andrew and Jane smiled “Thank you what time?”

Fred replied “7.00pm guys” Everyone nodded in agreement.

Zac replied looking down but infact smiling “Ok. My treat.”

Everyone laughed. Andrew and Jane left for home together with Zac and Suzanne who were going to Surfers.

Around 8.30 on Sunday morning Helena slipped on a beach dress without underwear. She put a few dollars in her pocket planning on getting some bacon and egg sandwiches and coffee for breakfast. Fred was still fast asleep. The lift stopped at Moody Morgan floor. She smiled and knocked on his door. He opened the door without looking who was there and rushed back to his 2^nd bedroom naked saying “Come in, I have some more pictures.”
